The ward was in a mess. Gao Lihua was sobbing on the sofa and the floor was covered by broken pieces, leaving hardly any blank spot for people to walk on.

Shen Donglai nodded at Qiao Yu as the latter walked in. “Thank you for coming. I know you must be very busy. Do sit down.”

Looking at Shen Donglai, Qiao Yu said in an indifferent voice. “That won't be necessary. I'm only here to pa.s.s on a greeting from my mother. Since Mr. Shen is doing fine, I'll be on my way.” After that, she turned to Gao Lihua, who was still weeping. “Aunt, my mom says to please take care of yourself and that you don't need to compromise if you don't want to.”

Shen Tianlang's face darkened and he tried to warn his mother. “Mom, that's not for you to say.” He then glanced at Qiao Yu and saw the grim look on the latter's face. He could tell that his cousin was going to lose his temper.

Wiping away her tears, Gao Lihua yelled at Shen Tianlang. “Is that how you talk to your mother?! I said all those things for you! There will be nothing left for you if Xia Ning gets what she wants! Your dad has slept with so many women. Who knows how many b.a.s.t.a.r.d brothers you've had by now? Stop speaking for other people and get the Shen Group under control! I can't believe I have to hear that from my son!”

“Gao Lihua, watch your mouth!” Embarra.s.sed, Shen Donglai snapped at Gao Lihua.

Gao Lihua sneered at Shen Donglai. “What? You're going to deny it now? Yu is family and you don't have to hide it from him. Plus, your sh*t is all over the frontpages now. Watch what you're doing before asking me to watch my mouth!”

“You…” Shen Donglai glared at Gao Lihua, too angry to utter a word.

Ignoring Shen Donglai, Gao Lihua turned back to Qiao Yu. “Yu, you and your cousin are great friends. Do you want to see him lose everything? And that Xia Ning is no angel. Shen Tianlang warned his mother. “Mom, stop it!” She was getting more and more ridiculous.
