Chapter 70 A Stupid Skill

“Hey, hey, hey, you’re being unreasonable, don’t you think?” Li Minghao could stand it no longer when the other team snatched another prey of theirs.

“Unreasonable? We can kill every beast we see. Don’t complain if you can't get to it first.” The team left with smirks on their faces.

“I know this guy, he’s from Hanwu Academy. But I don’t remember offending them before, so why are they targeting us?” asked Zhang Cheng, frowning.

“Let’s leave this place. I noticed they keep circling us. It’s clear they plan to snatch every beast we encounter.” a girl from his team said in a low voice.

Li Minghao was furious. He had been bullied by Xiang Ning in school and thought he could vent it all on the beasts here, and maybe try to win some prizes or just kill for fun. Yet now they were being targeted by some Hanwu bastards. He wondered if meeting Xiang Ning had been an inauspicious event. Why did his life turn south since he met that walking disaster? He clenched his teeth. “This is the last time. If they keep doing this, we’ll fight them!”

Li Minghao would never take this nonsense. This was utter disrespect, after all!

However, to their despair, they realized they couldn’t do anything at all! The Hanwu students were stronger, both in terms of physical strength and cultivation. They couldn’t take back their prey even if they wanted to.

The same thing was happening to every Qiling Academy team. If the rules hadn’t explicitly banned them from hitting another student, they would already have punched someone.

“What the hell are you guys doing? Don’t you guys want to win, too? Isn’t it a waste of time targeting us?” huffed Li Minghao.

“Hehe, you should blame your classmate, Xiang Ning, for this. He offended our Brother Wu and Brother Zhang, so we have to teach you all a lesson.” The leader smirked. Hanwu Academy students had a natural sense of superiority, because their school was filled with stellar students. Every student was above tier one, three-star, and they knew they were stronger than other schools.

“What?! What’s your beef with him got to do with us? Go follow him then! Take his prey for all I care!” Li Minghao yelled, his face as red as pork liver.

“Hehe.”

Li Minghao suddenly realized these bastards acted exactly like Xiang Ning: shameless! Utterly shameless!

Fury Points +111

The same thing was happening on the other side. Xiang Ning was confused by the increase in Fury Points, though it was a good thing.

Hanwu Academy’s suspected sabotage had long been recorded by the guards.

“Instructor Lei, should we issue a warning?” The guard was rendered quite speechless by the unreasonable behavior. This was the wilderness, filled with vast numbers of fearsome beasts. Why couldn’t they hunt like honest people? He couldn’t believe they were causing drama at a time like this. It was a headache! Why were young people like this?

“No, we never banned this kind of behavior. As long as they don’t hurt a fellow student, leave them be.” Instructor Lei crossed his legs and leaned back in his chair. He wasn’t holding out much hope for Marsh City in the first place, and was even suspicious of the special training in the beginning because the students were just too young. But despite that, he had found several prodigies through the program.

Lei Zhongyuan was currently staring at one of the hundreds of screens before him. He was watching Xiang Ning, whose team was currently battling three Boulder Boars. A Boulder Boar’s strength lay in its defense, though it usually hurled its massive weight around as it violently charged everywhere. It wasn’t easy to fight a mountain of muscle like those.

Xiang Ning was battling a tier one, eight-star Boulder Boar alone. Liu Ruoxue and Fang Rou fought a weaker tier one, five-star Boulder Board. There was one more—a tier one, seven-star Boulder Boar that Xiang Ning wanted to help with once he was done with his target. However, he realized they didn’t need his help. Other than not being used to fighting in the wilderness, it wasn’t a problem for his team.

Xiang Ning was no longer worried, and focused on the Boulder Boar before him. To be honest, if he didn’t have his Keen Observation skill, this would have been difficult.

When their cultivations were similar, beasts held the advantage. Wild beasts were more bloodthirsty and violent than the beasts from their training, and often much larger as well.

Liu Ruoxue killed her target the quickest. The two girls had several minor injuries. She had to admit that wild beasts were much stronger than what they were used to, and if she hadn’t coincidentally struck the beast’s eyes, Fang Rou would have sustained a major injury.

Xiang Ning, on the other hand, was enjoying his beast’s suffering. He was satisfied with the rise in Fury Points, but he’d also had several close calls with his Boulder Boar.

The Boulder Boar thought these humans were evil and couldn’t wait to gnaw their guts out. Its butt was hurting! The humans kept sticking their blades into its backside, almost killing it several times! Its eyes reddened in anger.

Xiang Ning barely dodged its attack once again. Just as he was about to launch a fatal strike, the Boulder Boar didn’t stop and turn to attack him like before.

Instead, it turned and charged toward Fang Rou and Liu Ruoxue, who were standing on the sidelines watching the fight. It was usually fast, but this time it charged as if its life depended on it. The girls froze in fear, panicking.

Xiang Ning’s hair stood on end, adrenaline instantly pumping through his veins. This was a tier one, eight-star Boulder Boar, while the girls were only ranked tier one, four-star. They could never escape, be it in terms of strength or speed! He could already see the Boulder Boar trampling them in his head.

“Get over here!” Xiang Ning activated his Taunt skill, which seemed to turn his voice into a hypnotizing spell. Unbelievably, the Boulder Boar stopped in its tracks, its muscles bulging, then charged toward him with double the fury.

The other tier one, seven-star Boulder Boar, which had initially been focused on its own battle, was magically attracted as well. It let out a booming roar, then charged toward Xiang Ning. He was about to be sandwiched between two boars!

He never would have expected that the Taunt skill would affect all beasts within a range. But there was no time to think—if he were hit, he would die!

Zhang Hongyu, who was hiding in the shadows, was delighted. That’s right, his team was there to snatch Xiang Ning’s prey. He was loving the fight so far as he thought about the time he was tied up and humiliated. All he could say was that he felt amazing watching Xiang Ning suffer.

“Xiang Ning! Careful! Dodge them!” Li Zimo shouted in panic, stunned by the Boulder Boars’ behavior.
