The beast’s roar had alerted Xiang Ning of the imminent danger. He wasn’t sure why, but he had a feeling that Gu Kun and the rest had arrived at the site. The beast’s roar was filled with rage and fury.

The people following Xiang Ning were also alerted to the beast’s presence. “Lan Quan, I think we are close.”

“Damn. Looks like it really is a special-type beast. How’d it appear here?” Lan Quan made the necessary modifications to his suit on the fly. Special-type beasts were usually strong on their own planet, but he wasn’t sure if their strength would be affected here on Earth.

“Lan Quan, should we alert Xiang Ning?” the vice-leader inquired. He was also aiming to recruit Xiang Ning into their fold, since he knew about his true strength. The six of them might not be able to harm the special-type beast, but with Xiang Ning around they could give it a try. He also knew that Lan Quan admired the boy.

“No. We’ll move ahead and observe the situation first,” Lan Quan answered without hesitation. He had thought about recruiting Xiang Ning, but would he agree? Even if Xiang Ning knew about their existence, would he accept them? He knew that he himself wouldn’t easily accept help from a third party. If they couldn’t trust each other, how could they subjugate a special-type beast?

What they didn’t know for now was that the special-type beast was a named beast. Helos, a whale-like beast that boasted incredible intelligence. It was a temperamental beast and fought against numerous enemies with its durable body and overwhelming physical attacks. There was speculation that Helos was naturally capable of constructing dimensional rifts. The dimensional rifts it created were surprisingly stable and had saved it on numerous occasions.

Special-type beasts defied all logic.

Back by the lakeside, when Lord Vulture saw Helos barreling toward them like a tank he immediately issued a series of orders and transformed. “Capture the girl from the Shura Tribe, collect as much data as you can from the dimensional rift, and retreat.”

“Understood, Lord Vulture!” The three mutants transformed and ran toward the girl. Helos saw that the little girl was in danger and grew even angrier. Black mist sprayed forth everywhere like geysers and the surroundings got darker in an instant.

Vulture stood his ground as black feathers sprouted all over his body.

“HAHAHA YEEEEES! This is the feeling!”

A giant vulture mutant standing three meters tall appeared in front of Helos. It was a monstrosity capable of knocking over the tier six alpha Sawtooth with a single punch! 

Helos saw the transformation and revealed a face filled with disgust and spite. How could such a vile thing have appeared in this world? In its eyes, the strong aura emanating from Vulture’s transformed form was disgusting. It had traveled through space for a very long time and had seen many things in its long life, but to see an amalgamation of numerous beasts was still extremely disgusting to it.

Lord Vulture saw the disgusted look and was pissed. A vein popped in his head as he reached the boiling point. While he didn’t want to admit it, it still hurt his heart when someone called him a mixed breed. That was why he got angry when he saw Helos’ expression.

“SKREEEE!!!” he screeched and hissed in retaliation, almost overpowering Helos’ own roar.

The two of them clashed and Helos’ monstrous strength allowed it to knock Lord Vulture away before stomping him into the ground. Helos didn’t stop, but continued charging as it dragged Lord Vulture across the ground for quite a distance. Dirt and mud flew as a massive trench formed from their collision and charge.

Helos had made a calculated move, as the trench now separated the little girl from the mutants that had been sent to capture her. They would almost have gotten her if it weren’t for the trench.

The little girl’s face was pale as she ran.

A single gunshot rang out and a bullet pierced through her legs. It was the four mutants that were previously fighting against Gu Kun and the rest! They were aiming their guns at the little girl!

She cried as she fell to the ground, her blood blossoming like roses on the ground. It was a dreary sight.

“Keke, let’s see where you can run.” The four mutants ran forward to capture the child. The fresh blood of a Shura Tribe was too tantalizing for them—they intended to capture her and eat her!

Her cries grew louder and were filled with sorrow. Helos heard her and panic filled its eyes. It immediately ignored Lord Vulture and ran toward the mutants. 

But the mutants had already predicted that and ran in the other direction. However, what they weren’t expecting was that the other teams had arrived.

Bam!

It was a familiar-sounding gunshot, one that had almost shot through Lord Vulture’s head! One of the mutants wasn’t as lucky and fell to the ground with a hole in his head.

“Fuckers! To think that they dare target a little girl! They’re worse than beasts!” Yu Qian shifted her Artemis Mk. 3 and loaded another round. If it wasn’t for her weapon being incapable of fully automatic fire, she would have shot all of them in their heads right there and then.

“Damn, Yu Qian, you’re amazing!” Chu Long was excited. He turned and looked at the unconscious Long Xiaoqi and sighed. They finally had a taste of revenge!

“Don’t falter here. Our location has already been compromised. We need to leave now or we’ll have to fight again!”

“Alright, let’s relocate now. We need to protect that little girl at all costs!” Chu Long didn’t know why they wanted her so badly, but since the special-type beast was protecting her, he knew that things weren’t as simple as they seemed. In the first place, how had a little girl even appeared there? Did the Seven Deadly Sins want her? They wouldn’t hand her over!

Lord Vulture finally crawled out from the ground and indignantly roared. His body expanded as veins bulged across his muscles and he grew larger! The aura he emanated grew increasingly oppressive and vile. He dug his heels into the ground as he launched himself at Helos. The vulture mutant actually covered over a hundred meters in a single second and landed a powerful blow on Helos’ waist.

Faced with the mighty blow, Helos actually cried out in pain as the two of them resumed their mortal combat. But while everyone was preoccupied with the fight, all of them failed to notice the dimensional rift pulsing. Something was coming out.…

The little girl was still biting her lips and enduring the pain coming from her leg when she turned and looked at the dimensional rift. An overwhelming fear seized her heart as she forgot about the pain in her head. 

The mutants were also closing in on her. There were dangers everywhere, and no way out. She felt trapped and slowly curled into a ball as despair and hopelessness gripped her heart.

The dimensional rift was intensely vibrating and pulsating. The being on the other side was probing and realized that there were no longer any obstacles in its path! This was a good chance for it to go through the wormhole! The pulsing exponentially increased and a sharp metallic object passed through the wormhole.

But its appearance hadn’t gone unnoticed. Alarms blared as red light filled the entirety of Fortress One. Dong Qianyi, Chen Tianhua, and Alia ran to the controls and saw the data flooding in from the sensors; their expressions immediately turned grim.

“Shura Tribe? How’d they find the coordinates of Earth and open up a wormhole?!” Dong Qianyi’s voice was almost silent.

Once again, Yu Qian top tier waifu, not as good as Fang Rou but much more badass
