Chapter 402 Vulture Mutant

The Sawtooth had just laid its egg not too long ago and required nutrients. To think that a human filled with vitality would appear in front of it. It was hungry…. It roared and charged forward. It might look like a lumbering idiot, but it easily covered a hundred meters in a few seconds.

Xiang Ning smiled. He had been waiting.

The cult members on the roof of the building were already in chaos. They looked like they were still standing in the same place. That was because another feast was happening just behind them.

“Shit! How’re the people from the Federation so cunning?”

“To think that the beasts were played in their hands.”

“Wait, something isn’t right.”

“Why’re beasts gathering underneath our building?!”

“Fuck! It’s their doing!”

“To think that bastard lured all of them here!”

They were in despair when they saw Xiang Ning luring the beasts toward them. Moreover, the sound of crunching bones was still echoing out from behind them. While there were many psychos in the cult, there weren’t many that were psychotic as Lord Vulture! If it weren’t for how strong he was, the others would never have followed him in the first place! But there was a high chance he could advance into tier seven....

“What now? Should we inform him?”

“Even that damned crocodile is here! Looks like we’re dead anyway.”

Just as they were discussing what to do, the sound of something cracking came from beneath their feet and the building violently shook.

They looked down and saw the tier six Sawtooth breaking the walls. It took a single bite and one of the pillars was crushed into powder!

“WHAT THE FUCK! It’s a fucking beast with muscles for brains! How could it just tear the building apart?!” one of the cultists wailed.

But their wailing was useless. The Sawtooth was determined to demolish the entire building. Some of the smaller beasts that were in the building were running away in fear. They had originally only been there to chase Xiang Ning in the first place.

As for Xiang Ning, he had already reappeared three hundred meters away. He stood by a window as he watched what was happening. There was a small hole in the curtain that he was peeping through. This was the first time he saw a beast demolishing an entire building. How did humanity survive against the beasts during the Great Disaster?

He shook his head as he threw the thought out the window. This was his chance to run away, but his curiosity got a hold of him. He needed to make sure the cultists died there and wouldn’t trouble them any longer. He suddenly recalled the little mechanical spider and a question formed in his mind.

He had crossed paths with the cult many times, but he’d never seen them use such advanced technology. Still, their technology in genetics far exceeds the Federation’s, so maybe they really are just that advanced. But he was swiftly pulled back to reality when he saw the building on the verge of collapsing.

To think that a Sawtooth could demolish a building so easily. Still, the building was already in a dilapidated state. If its structural integrity was on a scale of a hundred, it would at most get fifty points.

As one side of the building was destroyed, the other parts of the building couldn’t support the weight anymore and cracked. It almost came crashing down. Initially, it had been leaning toward the Sawtooth, but the other part of the building gave away and it fell in the opposite direction.

Back on the top floor, Lord Vulture had finally snapped out of his psychotic fugue. His mask had been discarded on the floor. His face had healed, but it was still disfigured as if it had been splashed with acid. Still, it was slightly better than when he had initially been hurt, with his teeth exposed and pieces of flesh hanging off of his cheek.

An inhuman shriek emanated from his mouth as if something was awakening within his body. But the cult members who were hanging on for dear life didn’t even care, as they were preparing to fight for their lives.

Lord Vulture’s shriek then hit their ears. The explosive Mental Power almost caused all of them to fall unconscious and fall into the sea of beasts. A shadow shot out of the building.

Xiang Ning was once again witnessing how crazy genetic engineering was. Lord Vulture was no longer a human. He was now three meters tall with black feathers covering his body. His eyes were red and his head was glistening white. The blood dripping from his mouth was horrifying.

A vulture mutant! Xiang Ning steeled himself. Back in Marsh City, he had read up on all the information he could get on the Seven Deadly Sins, including the modification of the human genome project that was scrapped sixty years ago.

In the file, he had seen many inhumane experiments that had been carried out against the will of the Federation. That was one of the reasons why the Federation wanted to destroy all mutants.

The usual features of Lord Vulture were now those of a bloodthirsty monster. There was nothing else Xiang Ning could use to describe it. His Combat Instinct was telling him that even if he activated all eight gates and approached tier seven, it would still be too dangerous to fight Lord Vulture.

The Sawtooth felt something approaching it and looked toward the sky. It used its short legs and jumped, its gaping jaw trying to bite Lord Vulture. Against that giant jaw, Lord Vulture looked just like a juicy piece of a chicken drumstick.

Lord Vulture’s eyes flashed and he punched the crocodile. A sonic boom tore through the air as the fifty-ton crocodile was smashed against the ground.

Xiang Ning was speechless. Is this the true strength of their genetic engineering? He could even punch an alpha just like that?! A human’s physical body should never be that strong!

The building collapsed and fell on the crocodile. Debris scattered everywhere as the vulture mutant locked gazes with Xiang Ning, its red eyes seething with anger. Xiang Ning thought it would be a good time to run.

Lord Vulture: Run? Block? What's that?
