Chapter 395 Three Forces

The armored vehicles departed before the sun had risen and quickly sped across the flatlands. Xiang Ning was laying on his bed, his face illuminated by the rising sun. They were crossing the land where countless deaths had occurred. He didn’t dare to look down because the earth had been stained by an ocean of blood, causing it to be so red that it appeared black.

After twenty minutes, he and the rest arrived at their destination. The five of them disembarked as the guard saluted them. “I wish you all good luck. Please return safely.” The two vehicles then turned and sped away.

The five of them watched the vehicles cross the horizon, then turned and saw the unending wilderness. While they had experience in entering it, they still felt stranded every time. A single mistake would cost their lives, and no one would find the remnants of their bodies. It was the forbidden zone of the human race and a land of unlimited fortune.

“We should elect a group leader before we proceed. We shouldn’t be like headless flies.” Yu Qian suggested.

That was naturally meaningless, but Xiang Ning was the first one who voiced out his thoughts. He had seen everyone’s information except for Chu Long and Long Xiaoqi’s. Xiang Ning was perplexed. Did they not have anyone else? But it seemed that Uncle Zhao had wanted to give them a surprise. Looking at Chu Long’s expression, it seemed that he was in the same situation.

“I read everyone’s information and feel that Gu Kun would be the best choice,” Xiang Ning answered.

Both Chu Long and Yu Qian agreed. Long Xiaoqi wanted Chu Long to be the leader, but seeing that it was more or less decided she didn’t voice out her thoughts.

Gu Kun didn’t reject it, either. “Thank you for trusting me. I’ll bring you all back alive.” He didn’t say that they would complete their mission, but guaranteed that they would survive. From that single sentence, everyone knew more or less what kind of man he was.

He was definitely dependable. ‘Beastslayer’ wasn’t a moniker that everyone could have, even though there was a stampede going on. Hang City had had numerous stampedes over the course of the past ten years, yet only one person had been known as one.

His moniker had come to be after accumulating experience little by little in the wilderness. Some even said that the wilderness was his home. But those who had worked with him before all agreed that he always made the best decisions there. He could even detect the most minute details that would allow them to all successfully escape.

He was a man who had survived in the wilderness for half a year.

After deciding on a leader, everyone described a little about their strength, even though they more or less knew what everyone was capable of.

Xiang Ning’s extraordinary sense of observation and perception had landed him the role of a scout. Chu Long was both a tank and vanguard, in charge of protecting Yu Qian and Long Xiaoqi. As a spiritual cultivator, Yu Qian would provide support from the rear. Long Xiaoqi was a dual cultivator. She was weaker, but her needles always brought an unexpected surprise to the battlefield and let her emerge victorious.

There should be no problem for them to escape a Beast King.

Gu Kun was the other vanguard, while Chu Long took the rear. Once their formation had been established, they departed into the wilderness.

It would take them roughly three days on foot to reach their destination. But what they didn’t know was that once they’d entered the wilderness, two more groups of people had arrived from two different directions. One group sported dark robes with the emblem of the Seven Deadly Sins. The other group was armed to the teeth and wore ghillie suits. While they were tall and muscular, they silently moved through the wilderness.

“Lord Vulture, the signal came from the northeast. We’re now heading toward the northwest. Aren’t we going in the wrong direction?”

A man with a vulture mask was leading the other nine people. He silently turned in the right direction when he heard that.

......

“Lan Quan, the air in this place is much better.”

“Yeah. We’ve been stuck in the city so long that I almost felt like puking. Finally, we can enter the wilderness.”

“Less talking, more walking. The faster we finish our mission, the faster we can go back. I don’t want to stay on this planet any longer.”

All six of them were more than two meters tall, but every step they took was eerily silent. Twigs snapped beneath them but no sound was heard. They were like wraiths as they moved across the wilderness.

A mild gust of wind blew past and revealed a metallic shine underneath their ghillie suits. On the metal was the imprint of a blue flower.

......

At the same time, beside the lake, a simple nest had been constructed. It was small and could only fit a child. As the sunlight reflected off the lake, a rustling was heard from within the nest. A small child appeared after five minutes. Two small horns adorned her head. She gently rubbed her rose-colored eyes.

She yawned, walked out of her nest, and was immediately attracted to a nearby beast. The beast was larger than an elephant. At that moment, blood was flowing from its neck. The giant whale-like beast was standing nearby as it yawned.

The child walked up and uttered three words to the whale beast. She then climbed onto the bleeding beast and chomped down.

Thirty minutes later, the child was covered in fresh blood and standing on the beast’s corpse. Sunlight reflected on her bloody figure. She looked like a red spider lily—alien yet beautiful.

She jumped off the beast, slightly more nimble than when she had climbed it. When she landed, the whale beast gulped down the rest of the beast in an instant.

It then lay on the ground and slept. The child, on the other hand, was exploring her surroundings.

Miles away, Xiang Ning and the rest had just killed the first beast they’d encountered, a Boulder Boar. They hadn’t eaten breakfast yet. Gu Kun flawlessly butchered the beast and they ate their first meal. It was surprisingly good.

The child ate THE WHAT?!
