Chapter 364 Back To The Orphanage

“Tsk. To think that you’d know that. Stop struggling and just accept it.”

Xiang Ning was speechless.

Qi Jiuming was enjoying himself as he toyed with Xiang Ning. Coercion? It would be a waste of talent if the brat was set free and caused some trouble. He had long known about Xiang Ning’s academic status. He had done his research almost every day. He slept through most of his classes, but could still score above 90% on each of his tests. It wasn’t good to sleep in class, but the situation was unique. Xiang Ning’s body had been weak at the time, so he couldn’t help it. Some of the teachers were observing him and had even felt a twinge of pain in their hearts.

Xiang Ning finally caved in. “Fine, but don’t blame me if I’m no good at teaching.”

“Sure, sure. Don’t think of it as a burden! Don’t you know how many teachers wanted to work here but failed to do so?” Qi Jiuming was exasperated when he saw how much Xiang Ning hated it.

“Xiang Ning, just be content. As a teacher, you’ll have the authorization to enter the library and read through all the techniques in there.” Fang Hao tried to cheer him up.

Xiang Ning immediately perked up when he heard that. He felt that the techniques he had were no longer capable of supporting him. The Shadowmist Ghost Step was still amazing, since it was a tier five movement technique, but his others were just basic techniques—it was time to change.

“Hmm… ok, fine….” Xiang Ning’s answer was starkly different from the previous one! As long as he got something in return, he would gladly teach the students. Still, even if he wasn’t getting anything in return, he would still teach them as best as he could.

“Alright, but I have a condition. I want to go to Hang City in a month.”

Qi Jiuming and sect master Fang nodded. That was their plan in the first place, to let him learn some techniques before he left.

Qi Jiuming's true intention wasn’t to have him become a teacher, since it was somewhat inappropriate, but both he and Fang Zhenyuan realized that Xiang Ning wasn’t lacking in cash. He had killed so many beasts.

But why did he not go and claim the money?

With that money, he may not be able to purchase the best techniques available, but he would have gotten some good ones.

Xiang Ning was given a few more check-ups before he could walk out of the Thunder Dojo.

It was already dawn on the second day since his fight with Obsession. He picked up his communicator and saw that his sister was contacting him. He smiled as he talked with her before shortly hanging up. She had already learned about his situation from Fang Hao and knew that it wasn’t serious.

He had even showed her photos of Xiang Ning in the recovery capsule. She didn’t know how to respond. Usually, when someone was in the recovery capsule, they would be half dead or worse. But Xiang Ning treated the recovery capsule like a daily bath instead. And since he looked fine on the outside, she felt better about it.

She called earlier that morning, but couldn’t get a hold of her brother, so she thought he was still in the capsule. She called Fang Hao and learned that he was just doing some other check-ups. She was relieved to learn that he was already out and about; it meant that his injuries weren’t serious.

Qi Jiuming allowed Xiang Ning to take a day off. There was nothing to do at Dong Qianyi’s place, either. Since that was the case, he took his sister to the orphanage with numerous gifts. He thought that the children would be traumatized by the stampede. The head of the orphanage also knew about his recovery, so he naturally also needed to drop by to see him.

Xiang Ning held his sister’s hand as they went to the orphanage.

The guard outside saw that he had returned and smiled. “Haha! Xiang Ning’s back! I knew that you’d return! Everything will be fine!”

Xiang Ning laughed and handed him some cigarettes. The guard already had most of the things he needed, but he still loved to smoke.

“Haha! I’ll gladly accept these. Quickly enter the orphanage, everyone was anxious about you.”

Xiang Ning nodded and walked into the orphanage. When he arrived, the guard had notified the students and teachers there. Some of them immediately notified Grandpa Director as the children were spreading the word around the orphanage.

When Xiang Ning finally arrived in the garden, everyone was already waiting for him. The head of the orphanage cried tears of relief when he saw him. He had been worried about the boy since the last time he’d been injured. Maybe he really had just needed a rest, but they didn’t believe it. The knot in their hearts was finally undone when they saw him walking around normally.

“Xiang Ning!”

“Xiang Ning!”

“Xiang Xiaoyu! Hehe.”

The children rushed up to them as they tried to hug the siblings. The fastest child managed to hug Xiang Ning’s leg, revealing a goofy smile as he did so.

One of the girls saw that everyone had already crowded around Xiang Ning. She hung her head in disappointment but suddenly felt a pair of soft hands lifting her up. She saw Xiang Ning warmly smiling at her.

“Brother Xiang Ning!” The girl happily hugged his neck and gave him a peck on the cheeks.

Xiang Xiaoyu was also surrounded by children. She saw her brother laughing and realized that it’s been so long since she had last seen him so happy.

Xiang Ning brought the children to Grandpa Director and slightly bowed. “I made you worry about me. I’m sorry.”

Say what you want, MC has never forgotten about the orphanage. Truly a wholesome man
