Chapter 31 Pig Feed

Xiang Ning chuckled as he took a look at the Fury Points he had received today. The Fang siblings were generous indeed, giving him both an annual membership and Fury Points. He silently spent them all on Mental Power.

“Xiang Ning, hurry up! You need to accept the team request!” complained Fang Rou. Xiang Ning was being unreasonable, not responding even after she had called him several times.

“Coming,” Xiang Ning chuckled and accepted the request. In a flash, Fang Rou’s figure appeared next to him. He paused, then, without a word, closed in next to Fang Rou and pinched her cheek.

Fang Rou was on the selection interface. What the hell? Isn’t this considered a pretty intimate gesture? Just like how her father would pinch her cheeks if he was in a good mood. She didn’t know why men liked to pinch her cheeks.

“What are you doing?” she rolled her eyes.

“Nothing, just wanted to test how realistic this VR tech is,” Xiang Ning seriously said, pulling a stern expression.

Fang Rou started questioning whether or not she had made the right decision, but didn’t overthink his gesture.

Xiang Ning privately heaved a sigh of relief when Fang Rou didn’t press the issue. He praised himself for his quick comeback, then looked at his disobedient hand. Why couldn’t he control it? Her skin was quite soft, just like his little sister’s.

As he quietly reminisced on the feeling, they matched successfully with an opponent. When she turned and saw Xiang Ning’s stern expression, she asked, “What’s up with you?”

“Nothing, I just need to win this fight,” Xiang Ning calmly said, though he was privately screaming that he hadn’t had enough time to reminisce. What a shame he had to hold his cold weapon!

Fang Rou was confused.

They had selected the arena setting, a place they were both familiar with. Opposite them were two hammer-wielding people who looked identical, though they each held their hammers in different hands.

“Twins! They look quite alike,” whispered Fang Rou.

“They’ll be pig feed soon,” Xiang Ning coldly said, clutching his iridium sword as he activated his Keen Observation skill.

“Pig feed? What pig feed?” Fang Rou was slightly confused.

“Twin pig feed,” came his serious reply.

Fang Rou didn’t know how to respond to that.

Their opponents were both tier one, six-star martial artists who were at least on their level. Based on their weapon choice, they probably weren’t fast.

“Their chosen weapons are hammers, so they won’t be quick. Don’t you have a speed combat skill? I’ll distract them from the front, you look for opportunities to attack,” Xiang Ning quickly arranged a plan.

Fang Rou nodded in agreement. Growing up in the dojo, when she saw her opponents, she had the same habit of formulating plans.

When the countdown ended, Xiang Ning sprinted forward with Fang Rou behind him.

The twins entered a fighting stance, prepared to face them.

“Mountain-Splitting Slash!” Xiang Ning quickly unleashed a powerful attack, the power of an avalanche being unleashed from his sword stunning the twin brothers. Wasn’t the usual move to test the waters first?

They weren’t distracted, though. When Xiang Ning closed in, they swung their hammers with the sound of howling winds. These two had average physiques, not very muscular, so why had they chosen the hammer as their weapons?

Xiang Ning’s lips curved upward. After his Mountain-Splitting Slash was released, he turned to the side and dodged their hammers, which both hit the ground in two deafening thuds. The ground trembled.

In Xiang Ning’s eyes, the two had many flaws. He hadn’t attacked without a plan. The Keen Observation function was unstable, but what he could confirm was that there was some success. He was surprised that both of them swung their hammers. Weren’t they worried about Fang Rou’s attack?

After Xiang Ning dodged, Fang Rou activated her Lost Mist Step skill, her iridium sword slashing through the air and lunging toward the twin on the left. No fancy moves, just a simple slash, yet she executed it perfectly.

Xiang Ning attacked at the same time with his Mountain-Splitting Slash.

Three minutes later.

Fang Rou looked at Xiang Ning. What was he trying to do?

“I’m begging you, let us go. Come, stab me here.” The twins stood at the edge of the arena, panting hard. Their clothes were torn and tattered, though a mosaic was present to protect their modesty.

Is this guy a psychopath? Why isn’t he killing them? Why was he torturing them?

“I’m testing if my blade is sharp enough.”

“Are you sick in the head? This is VR, what’s that got to do with anything?” They were mad—how could he bully them like this? Another grudge had formed!

Fang Rou, who was watching on the side, could watch no longer. It was horrible.

Xiang Ning shook his head. Too few. They gave him too few Fury Points. He had only gained about three hundred points here. He privately sighed, then finally killed them. Both of them showed an expression of relief.

“I noticed a serious problem.”

“What problem?” Fang Rou was perplexed.

“Why don’t we fight one on one again?”

“Heh.”

Just like that, they fought all morning until Xiang Ning had gained a thousand Victory Points. He also gained a little over a thousand Fury Points. His schoolmates were more generous, after all, contributing Fury Points every time they met. He started selecting a martial skill, though a thousand points would only be enough for a basic skill. He turned to Fang Rou. “We need to talk.”

“About what?” Fang Rou cautiously squinted at him. This bastard always had something up his sleeve.

“I have a thousand Victory Points here. Let me exchange it for one of your martial skills,” said Xiang Ning.

“Heh, that’s so kind of you. You’ve been eyeing my Lost Mist Step?” Fang Rou exposed his true intentions.

Xiang Ning rubbed his chin. The girl was getting smarter by the day.

They logged off after Xiang Ning exchanged a skill named Triple Slash with her. Although it wasn’t as agile and quick as the Lost Mist Step, Triple Slash was a good skill to have. The user would be propelled forward while unleashing three quick, consecutive slashes. Xiang Ning spent a hundred Fury Points on advancing it to the Beginner level; based on the information he read in his head, it wasn’t a bad skill at all.

“Let’s go have lunch.” Fang Rou stretched, revealing her beautiful figure.

Xiang Ning started, then replied, “It’s fine, I’ve got to get back home and cook for my sister.”

“You have a sister?” Fang Rou grew interested.

Xiang Ning nodded, though he didn’t make any more small talk. He agreed to introduce them in the future, then, after bidding her farewell, he took the bus home.
