Chapter 304 Twelve Great Prodigies - Chen Tianhua

The signal emitting from the spacecraft had disappeared. Xiang Ning expected a lot more drama to happen soon. He would soon see how the Seven Deadly Sins and these alien beings interacted. But he thought of another question: the Seven Deadly Sins obviously had some hidden scheme. If the beast cores fell into alien hands, what would the consequences be?

A sudden beeping sound rang. It was a custom ringtone alerting him that Dong Qianyi was calling.

“What’s the matter, Master?”

“Bad news, Xiang Ning. Based on our surveillance, we found five tier seven Beast Kings, with at least three of them currently heading toward Hang City!” Dong Qianyi looked solemn on the screen.

“This is the sixth time more than five Beast Kings have gathered in the same place since the Great Disaster. Humanity lost the past five wars. We won’t be able to keep this under wraps for long, so it’ll soon be announced to the city. I’ve sent you a mech. I believe you used one on exploration mode before, so there shouldn’t be a problem. If you encounter trouble, take the others with you and immediately evacuate!” warned Dong Qianyi.

Xiang Ning’s eyes widened. “Master, the mech.…”

“You might’ve already sensed it, but we’ll talk about the problems after we survive the situation at hand. Remember, the moment there’s danger, you must take everyone and leave immediately!” he warned again.

Xiang Ning sensed the severity of the situation. It was no longer about aliens or the Seven Deadly Sins. The beast cores belonged to the beast kings, or some beast generals above tier five—no, he’d call them beast eggs!

When he was in the sewage tunnel, he had, to his horror, spotted spherical objects immersed in liquid within the hidden room. He had never seen anything like them before, but they were round like a beast core. He’d thought they were just beast cores belonging to beasts he had never seen before, but now that he thought about it, how could mere beast cores trigger such a massive beast army that included so many beast kings?

“Master, this is bad. Contact the masters of Hang City as soon as you can. I discovered the intentions of the alien beings, they’re likely after the objects that are causing the beast kings to gather, and I’m 80% sure they’re eggs, cores. And the person behind it is Hang City’s vice city lord!” Xiang Ning ignored the alarm blaring throughout the base.

The moment he figured out the aliens’ intentions and knew that there were more than five beast kings gathering outside the city, he was found by a robot within the base.

He finally understood why the seven Deadly Sins had so many beast eggs. They shouldn’t have had such sophisticated information channels. There were spies from the Federation in the Seven Deadly Sins, too. It would be an easy task for the Federation to find beast nests. The Seven Deadly Sins must be meddling with genes again; he remembered that the Seven Deadly Sins consisted of genetic hybrids!

“What?!” Dong Qianyi’s eyes widened. There was no time to even ask how Xiang Ning knew so much. Usually, he would have had to personally confirm such shocking news, but due to the urgency, he had to trust him and not delay matters further.

Beasts had more sophisticated senses than humans, especially high-tier beasts. They were extra sensitive toward their own offspring, with beast kings being the most sensitive. There were more human cities not far from Hang City, so why were the beasts only targeting them? Naturally, it was because they had sensed their offspring in Hang City. If the aliens got their hands on the eggs and left Hang City, the beasts would lose the trail and think their children were either dead or had been taken somewhere else. And would they ever keep their anger to themselves? Obviously not!

There were more than five tier seven beast kings involved, too!

Why now? Let’s not forget that all the prodigies of China were concentrated in Hang City, with many of their masters also there for the event. That made the city vastly more attractive to the beasts, and if anything happened, the consequences would be disastrous.

“I understand!” Dong Qianyi immediately hung up. Xiang Ning frowned because the base was about to go on lockdown. It was going to be tricky.

......

On the other side, the vice city lord was drenched in a cold sweat. If the things he did had been exposed, there would be nothing he could do to atone for his crimes. However, as long as the storm passed, he would get everything he wanted. All of his actions would be pardoned.

Just as he was about to leave to check on the situation, a man of about forty years old in glasses entered. If Xiang Ning were present, he would be gawking, because this man’s aura had the same quality as Dong Qianyi’s aura. He even had the same mild expression, tinged with a hint of arrogance.

“Mr. Chen!” When the vice city lord saw him, he quickly hid his expression and put on a welcoming smile.

Chen Tianhua, one of Earth Federation’s Twelve Great Prodigies, specialized in engine research. He had inherited his master’s work. It was all because of him that humans could take a step toward interstellar travel. Due to his master’s work in engine technology, as well as his talent in various engine research, the models he invented weren’t limited to spacecraft engines alone.

If Dong Qianyi’s brain could conceptualize the folding of dimensions, then Chen Tianhua’s brain was a powerful and sophisticated engine that could run on anything—including data. He was responsible for the motor, drive engine, and supercomputer aboard the Chaos.

“Mr. Chen, you’re here? Please, have a seat.” The vice city lord of Hang City, Fu Yingxiao, gestured.

“Yingxiao, how long were you planning to hide the truth from me?” Chen Tianhua demanded.

Yes, Chen Tianhua was the first person Dong Qianyi had reached out to. Although Dong Qianyi was one of the Twelve Great Prodigies, it was still more difficult to contact and convince the masters of Hang City, so contacting a fellow Great Prodigy was much easier. Plus, Chen Tianhua had been hired as an advisor when the tier seven beast kings appeared ten kilometers outside of Hang City, hence how he could arrive so quickly.

“Haha, what is it, Mr. Chen?” Fu Yingxiao asked, chuckling nervously.

“The Seven Deadly Sins. Shura. Beast eggs. South Lake District, 31st Street.” As Chen Tianhua uttered word after word, Fu Yingxiao’s face gradually darkened.

“Mr. Chen, everything I’m doing is for the future of mankind. You have yet to resolve your bottleneck, seeing as you haven’t released a third-generation engine even after five years. The Shura race promised that if I gave them the things they wanted, they would hand over their engine technology. You’d be able to complete your third-generation engine then, and mankind wouldn’t be so defenseless.” With his high status, Fu Yingxiao naturally had access to a lot of information. He even understood the importance of running the special training classes.

“Look, these are the figures and blueprints they gave us. I’ve checked them and there are no problems!”

“You’re too naive. It isn’t that I can’t produce the third-generation engine, it’s that I’m waiting! Waiting for Dong Qianyi’s dimensional technology. Only when his dimensional technology is incorporated into my engine can it be produced. The technology the Shura race provided is based on dimensional technology, so that means that without it, this is a useless piece of paper.” Chen Tianhua shook his head slightly.

This guy really didn't think about the engine's compatibility with humanity's technology?!
