Chapter 291 Little Demon

Xiang Ning watched as his sister happily skipped away. He was now alone with Fang Rou.

Both of them gazed into each other’s eyes. They didn’t know why, but they felt like they were the only two people left in this world.

Xiang Ning smiled as he held her hand and walked out of the hotel. Rather than calling a cab, they decided to take a leisurely walk.

The cars and lights basked Heavenly Star City in a warm glow; it was a beautiful city at night.

They walked a bit before they found a share bike. He scanned the code and unlocked it. “Come, let me bring you somewhere nice.”

Fang Rou sat behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist. She said nothing, but she felt like she could go anywhere as long as Xiang Ning was with her.

He slowly cycled as the night lights blurred. It was a dreamy experience.

“No wonder the people who came here also said that Heavenly Star City is a city of dreams,” sighed Xiang Ning. It was a beautiful city. He had previously thought that Marsh City was big, even though he’d never set foot in another city. It seemed like there was a huge difference between Marsh City and other big cities.

For example, he parked near the foot of a mountain. The mountains in Marsh City were nowhere as massive as here! This mountain was the place that Xiang Ning found as he was sifting through the information about Heavenly Star City prior to their arrival.

He held Fang Rou’s hand and walked up the mountain. It was slightly spooky when there weren’t any lights and she hugged Xiang Ning’s arm in fear. While it didn’t snow in the south, the mountain was still chilly.

Xiang Ning looked at her. “You’re in my way.”

“Ah?!” Fang Rou felt her world turn and she appeared in his arms in a princess carry.

Xiang Ning lowered his head and saw her cute face, then kissed her forehead. “Hmm, good. At least you won’t be blocking my path like this.”

Fang Rou didn’t know how to react and just laid her head to rest on his shoulder. The surrounding air was cold, but she felt warm in his embrace. Xiang Ning’s scent was comforting. Her face gradually turned red.

He carried her up the mountain. Fang Rou didn’t know how long they had been walking, but she was hoping the moment would stretch on forever. She didn’t care what Xiang Ning possessed, she only cared that she had him by her side.

Maybe because it was too comfortable, her breathing gradually slowed as she dozed off. In her dreams, she heard Xiang Ning’s soft voice saying, “Are you awake, my sleepy princess?”

She groggily opened her eyes and saw flashing lights, as if the door to a new world had opened. She gently kissed him as he let her down to take in the scenery. “It’s so pretty.” She stepped forward and stopped just before the cliff. There was a gazebo nearby. In front of the cliff was the entire cityscape of Heavenly Star City.

“Xiang Ning, how’d you find this place?” Fang Rou opened her arms and turned around. Her untied hair flowed in the wind like waves.

Xiang Ning was recording a video of her reaction and captured this moment forever. He laughed as he took out one of the inventions from his dimensional ring. He had made it in the Chaos, even though he could have bought it on the market. It was a VR simulation device. He placed the egg-sized item on the ground and turned it on. In an instant, a ray of light shone and glowing dots appeared in the air. They were like stars in the night sky.

Fang Rou gasped in awe. Many of the ‘starlights’ floated to her side and she gently caught some of them in her palms. Her eyes were shaking in excitement.

Xiang Ning smiled as he walked over to her and gently tapped a light. It grew as a small sprout appeared. Fang Rou was both fascinated and speechless.

Soon, the sprout grew into a large tree and gathered the remaining lights. All of them turned into various animals and danced in a circle around the tree.

In the end, they disappeared and turned into a heart shape.

Xiang Ning was scratching his head in embarrassment. He didn’t know what he should do for the final phase, so he just made it as such. He still remembered how speechless Alia had been when she saw his design. Xiang Ning was a blockhead!

Still, there was some charm to it, so at least he wasn’t a complete blockhead.

Seeing how embarrassed he was, the little demon in Fang Rou’s heart appeared. It was strange that she was harboring another personality underneath her normal character. Only when certain people and events happened did it appear.

She smiled as she slowly walked over to Xiang Ning. He had yet to hear any response from her, so he turned to look at her.

Wait, what’s going on? He was dumbfounded and wanted to reject the advance, but couldn’t; it was from Fang Rou after all. He was pinned to the wall by her. “Hey, I may be tired from carrying you up the mountain, but I still have some strength.” He silently took out a vial of healing potion from his dimensional ring and acted like he was going to drink it, but Fang Rou seized it instead.

She looked at the potion. Xiang Ning sighed as he thought she had returned to normal, but what happened next startled him.

Fang Rou drank the liquid as she mischievously stared at him. Before he could say anything, she held his head and kissed him.

Their lips touched and Xiang Ning felt the sweet potion flowing into his mouth. He instantly snapped out of it. No! I need to do something!

He planted his feet, hugged Fang Rou, and turned around. It was her turn to be surprised as she saw his smiling gaze. The little demon in her heart was nowhere to be seen when he got serious.

Fang Rou’s body turned to mush, but Xiang Ning still held her firmly in place. There was no escape.

GO GET HIM GURL! The train track looks awfully comfy for me rn ngl
