The soldiers were stunned by such a display of power. That was intense!
“Wow, he’s a dual cultivator? That’s impressive.”
“Shut up and help him!”
“Right, right! Let’s go! Kill!”
Xiang Ning killed six Dark Aurumsaurs, breaking free of the circle of Aurumsaurs around him. He panicked when he saw the soldiers rushing toward him, then loudly yelled, “Don’t come here, I’ll deal with this! Go kill the others!”
This was a gold mine of Experience and Fury Points! If they killed the Aurumsaurs for him, he wouldn’t have any points left! Then how would he become stronger?
“But—”
“Trust me, I can handle it! Go kill the rest!” Xiang Ning yelled once again. His Taunt skill was effective as always in angering these Dark Aurumsaurs; even some of them that were far away started charging toward him when they heard his voice.
The soldiers were still worried for him, but when they saw the way he wove back and forth through the group of Aurumsaurs, they hesitated.
When Li Yunfei heard what happened, he immediately issued a command. “Quick, get into groups of three, surround and kill the Dark Aurumsaurs! I’ll go help him!” Then he sprinted over. When they saw their team leader helping Xiang Ning, the team was no longer worried.
Xiang Ning was using Shadowmist Ghost Step so the Dark Aurumsaurs couldn’t keep up. Any beast that was in the way was instantly killed using his Mountain-Splitting Slash at Peak Mastery and Hunter Mk. 4 flying knives. However, the saliva of the Dark Aurumsaurs was incredibly potent, subtly poisoning his body.

…
After Xiang Ning killed his eleventh Dark Aurumsaur, he noticed his rising Experience Points. Why were they rising? Did he have a hidden injury he didn’t know of?
Li Yunfei sprinted over. “Are you alright? You… you’ve been poisoned! Quick, drink this antidote or it’ll get very serious!”
Xiang Ning was stunned, instinctively taking the vial in a daze. Poisoned? Right, that explained the increasing Experience Points. Then he smiled; that was good news, he was happy to earn more Experience Points.
When Li Yunfei turned around to strike an attacking Dark Aurumsaur, Xiang Ning tossed the vial into his dimensional ring. If he drank it, how would he earn more Experience Points? He’d had enough of peaceful days after three months in Marsh City. He hadn’t even earned a thousand Experience Points during that time, and that was after working hard as a sparring partner at the dojo every day. He wasn’t doing it for the money!
As time passed, more reinforcements arrived. The three hundred Dark Aurumsaurs were quickly being slaughtered. Xiang Ning and Li Yunfei were a distance away from the majority of the people, each of them surrounded by more than ten beasts.
Suddenly, a piercing roar rang across space.
“No, it’s the Kaiser Aurumsaur! It’s growing impatient!” Li Yunfei grew solemn. He had to admit that it would be difficult to fight, especially with a student by his side.
“Run now, kid. The Kaiser Aurumsaur is a tier four, nine-star beast. I can buy us some time if I fight it alone—go inform the other tier four martial artists to help out!”
“No way, you look too pale! The antidote’s effects must be fading. If I go, you might not even last a minute!” Xiang Ning hurriedly grabbed the vial of antidote out of his ring and passed it to Li Yunfei.
Li Yunfei was surprised to see the vial, then immediately understood when he saw Xiang Ning’s pale face.
Oh my goodness, I was just wondering why the kid still looked so pale after drinking the antidote and thought he still had some residual venom. But it looks like he didn’t even drink it! “YOU!”
Li Yunfei was furious, but Xiang Ning didn’t give him a chance to speak. “Drink it now, you’re reacting worse to it than I am, and I still can hold on!”
Li Yunfei fell silent. It was true that the antidote would be more useful to him; it would let him stand a better chance against the Kaiser Aurumsaur.
“There’s no time to hesitate! If we don’t stop the Kaiser Aurumsaur, it’ll be a disaster. The soldiers behind us can’t stop it. It’s already tier four, nine-stars, if it kills more people, it could likely break through to tier five!” If that happened, it would be a nightmare!
Convinced, Li Yunfei took the antidote from Xiang Ning. “But you must leave, get an antidote from one of my soldiers!”
“Alright.”
When he heard Xiang Ning’s reply, Li Yunfei smiled and drank the antidote, then turned and charged at the Kaiser Aurumsaur.
The gigantic lizard was extremely aggressive. When it saw a human charging at it so boldly, there was an evil glint in its eye!
Xiang Ning didn’t leave. His Experience Points were increasing by three hundred points per second; it was as effective as recovery fluid. While he wasn’t sure what other people experienced, other than discomfort all over his body, he felt no other symptoms. He still could fight three Aurumsaurs at a time, but his eyes were already fixed on the gigantic lizard. The Kaiser Aurumsaur was powerful, it was a veritable trove of Fury Points!
Li Yunfei, who had charged at the Kaiser Aurumsaur, was immediately put in grave danger. It was stronger than anticipated and his attacks could only break its epidermis. To truly injure it, he had to attack three times in the same spot. The beast displayed some intelligence, too. Whenever he attacked, it would move to avoid harm to vulnerable spots or other spots that had been attacked before. It traded damage with him by relying on its great defenses.
Naturally, Li Yunfei was losing the fight and was in danger. Xiang Ning had initially been looking for a reason to intervene—wasn’t this the perfect chance? However, he had to disguise himself or it would distract Li Yunfei. He activated the battle armor that the researchers gave him for the first time.
“Heaven’s Key.” Xiang Ning softly muttered, then a metallic liquid that looked like mercury flowed from his chest to the rest of his body. The armor wasn’t dramatic in its design, but sky-blue armor materialized over all the critical parts of his body. It was a magnificent sight.
It was at that moment that two Dark Aurumsaurs pounced and tried to bite him. Xiang Ning remembered Wang Jiayan saying that he could fight tier four beasts even with his tier three abilities with this armor on. Since that was the case, it should have great defensive properties.
He didn’t move, wanting to test the armor. Without the armor, he would have earned at least five hundred Experience Points, but he had only gotten about a hundred. That meant it had reduced damage by eighty percent! He smirked. This was something only the very rich could afford. Even the best Crescent armor could only reduce forty percent of the damage caused by a tier four beast.
“Tsk Tsk. Those researchers live up to their names, of course their invention would be awesome.” Though he said that, once he found out that making this set was three to four times the cost of a Crescent armor set, he would no longer feel the same.
