Chapter 173 I Promise Not To Kill Him

Xiang Ning arrived at the entrance of Qiling Academy and saw Liu Ruoxue standing there. One look at her expression and he knew that she was in distress. She almost cried in joy when she saw him. “Thank goodness you’re here.”

He gave her a nod and asked her how Fang Rou and Li Zimo were.

“Fang Rou’s right arm was fractured, but Zimo was heavily injured. He’s currently in a recovery capsule.” Liu Ruoxue was regretting how weak she was. This was a situation where Xiang Ning shouldn’t have been called in, but she had no choice.

“Alright.” Xiang Ning could no longer hold back and stepped into the academy. The once-verdant leaves of the trees were turning yellow.

Just a few steps later his phone rang. It was Lei Zhongyuan.

“I knew you’d come.”

“Do you have anything to say?”

“To be fair, the opponent is really strong. Not only is he one of the ‘Chosen Ones’ in America, but he also comes from one of their most influential families too. You’re his only match.”

“You think I’ll lose to him?” Xiang Ning said in a flat tone. Lei Zhongyuan couldn’t help but laugh when he heard that. “Are you kidding me? You could even retaliate against me. I’m worried that you’ll defeat him so badly that even America would take notice of you.”

Lei Zhongyuan was serious when he said that. He had seen how strong Nathan was, and even acknowledged it. To think he was only one step away from advancing into tier four at such a young age. Nathan would be a powerhouse in the future. But Lei Zhongyuan was more confident that Xiang Ning would be stronger.

A tier two fighting back against a tier six, and could even see through some of his attacks? Xiang Ning’s talent was unheard of.

“Sure, I won’t beat him to death,” Xiang Ning chuckled.

“Good, just make sure he’s not injured too badly alright?”

As soon as he said that, Lei Zhongyuan hung up. He chuckled and looked toward Qi Jiuming, who was standing beside him. “See, nothing to worry about. He’ll hold back.”

But instead of relief, Qi Jiuming looked at Lei Zhongyuan as if he was an idiot. “Hey, why’re you staring at me like I’m an idiot?”

“That’s because you are one, you musclebrain! Don’t you understand what Xiang Ning meant when he said that he wouldn’t beat him to death?”

Gears were grinding in Lei Zhongyuan’s brain until something finally clicked. “Ah damn, should we prepare a recovery capsule?”

“Why should we? He came to our academy and hurt my students, don’t even think about it!”

“Sure, it doesn't matter to me anyway,” Lei Zhongyuan chuckled as he rubbed his bald head. Still, he had some reservations. The opponent was almost a tier four while Xiang Ning was only tier two.

......

Students had filled up every possible space within the arena. At first, they were curious to see what kind of martial techniques western martial artists use. But soon, they found that it was a one-sided massacre. Even the people from the special class were tossed aside like rag dolls.

Feng Yi stared at the students who were calling them weak and retorted, “The opponent is from Aurig Central Academy, one of the top ten in the world. Even if you want to be a hero, you should first look at the situation! Don’t be like those idiots Fang Rou and Li Zimo. To think they’d go up just to humiliate themselves.”

The students closest to her wanted to rip her apart.

“Xiang Ning was right! You really are garbage! You don’t even have the bravery to stand against the opponents. No wonder you’d try hurting Xiang Ning’s sister when you were being bullied by the other academy. It’s all because you’re weak!”

“That’s right! You guys are so useless!”

“Shut up! Since you think you’re so great, go ahead and stand up!” Feng Yi was angered too. “Don’t you know who he is? He’s Nathan Tulip, a genius who’s almost tier four! Even if Xiang Ning were to come, he’d be nothing in front of him. Don’t think that Xiang Ning is unstoppable just because he could single-handedly fight against Third School and Hanwu Academy. Against a stronger force, he can only die like a dog! Do you think Xiang Ning doesn’t know that they came for him? Maybe that’s why he isn’t here today!”

Everyone wanted to say something, but none of them could retort.

At the resting area for Aurig Central Academy, ten students were seated in a row. The weakest among them was a student with the strength of a tier two, four-star martial artist. In the center sat Nathan, a tier three, nine-star powerhouse.

“To think that people in the east are this weak. Do you think Xiang Ning will appear?” Nathan was bored.

To his side stood Natalia, a tier three, one-star martial artist. She was the one responsible for injuring Fang Rou.

“President Nathan, let’s just leave. This is a waste of time.” It was Monk who spoke this time. Monk was a tier two, nine-star martial artist that came from the Erik household. They were a subsidiary house that served the Tulips. Monk was the one responsible for injuring Li Zimo. He was also known as the titan of Aurig Central Academy.

“Yeah. I was curious about Xiang Ning, but to think that he dared let me wait for him instead! Let’s go. We should leave for North Star City.” Nathan stood up.

But just then, the entire arena erupted in cheers.

“Xiang Ning! It’s Xiang Ning!”

“Wasn’t he absent today? Why’d he come?”

“Who cares! I just want Xiang Ning to beat them up!”

“But isn’t he just a tier two martial artist? I don’t think he can do anything!”

Everyone saw how he slowly walked toward the center of the arena, but something was amiss. He was known for his athletic looks, but now he looked like a scrawny researcher instead! What had happened to him?

Everyone from Aurig Central Academy was puzzled as well. Nathan knew Chinese, so he knew that Xiang Ning had arrived, but when he saw the skinny figure, he turned to confirm with Sakar. “This… is the contender that you fought against and lost?”

Xiang Ning looked weak! So weak that Nathan did not even feel like fighting anymore.

The MC is here. Get ready, scrub!
