When Xia Zhetao received the call, he was finis.h.i.+ng the mess left behind by Mu Tingfeng. Although Mu Tingfeng was not a public figure like celebrities, he frequently appeared in financial magazines.

The sudden announcement about him being wounded by a gunshot may induce the idiotic reporters to make up the stories such as a fight for power in the great family, a fight among the brothers and uncles, and other disputes of the rich family.

Therefore, he made a public statement that Mu Tingfeng had met with an accident while he was on the way to work. He did not suffer any life-threatening injuries, was admitted to the hospital, and would recover soon.

When the phone screen showed the call was from his superior, he withdrew his mournful expression that belonged to a resentful woman, and said solemnly, "Hi, President Mu. How are you? Did Mrs. Mu go over and help out?"

Right after hearing Xia Zhetao's express his concern for him, the person on the other end of the line fell silent for some time. While Xia Zhetao was thinking anxiously if he had said anything wrong, Mu Tingfeng finally spoke.

"You did a great job on whistleblowing. I'll give you a pay raise for this."

Xia Zhetao's originally sunken heart burst right after hearing Mu Tingfeng's words. The gloomy atmosphere surrounding him instantly blossomed, and turned lively and vibrating!

Upon hearing Xia Zhetao's grin, the person on the other end fell silent for a brief moment. After that, a voice came from him, "Hmm? Do you have any other opinions?"

Although it sounded like an ordinary greeting, his cold tone carried a hint of warning and danger.

Xia Zhetao s.h.i.+vered. He hurriedly stopped himself from crying like a banshee, and said solemnly, "No. President Mu, just say whatever you want to say. I'll be sure to complete the mission even if it has to put my life at stake. Please be a.s.sured you'll be satisfied with it!"

When Zhao Youxi was kicked out of Zhao Enterprise, Mu Tingfeng had suspected something unusual. So, he had asked Xia Zhetao to conduct a thorough investigation about it.

Xia Zhetao did not find out the things he was meant to investigate, instead, he dug out a lot of horrible stuff committed by Zhao Youxi.

Now, those could be put into good use. They could be used to ruin that woman's reputation to the extent she could not recover from her previous state.

"Remember," Mu Tingfeng's voice was heard from the other end of the line again. He spoke ruthlessly, "I want her to lose her reputation, to be hated by everyone, and make her unable to stay in Shalnork and Zelford."

This was Xia Zhetao's first time sensing Mu Tingfeng's fury. He s.h.i.+vered and swore that from now on, n.o.body could afford to offend Zhao Youlin.

If one offended the president, they could at least die without suffering. But, if one offended the former Mrs. President, the president would torture them to the point they would have suicidal thoughts!

"Good."
