What he was hearing was just too absurd to be true!
He had punched some trees since a young age, so now he was poisoned by some type of a conscious poison?! He was expected to believe this? As if!
Hua Yan was now certain that he had gone mad!
"You have indeed turned insane," Frenzy's voice echoed from within, "And I am directly responsible for that. It is the fate of all my carriers; you are no different. In consolation, however, I can tell you that this type of madness is not the madness of the mind, but the madness of the heart. You are a bloodthirsty murderer, but you are no idiot."
Hua Yan still did not understand this explanation. He was mad, but not really mad? Not mad in the mind but mad in the heart? What was the meaning of this?
"In normal situations, you will be no different from the average man. Your thought process is sane," Frenzy explained, "But when things get spicy, all rationality is sent into a frenzy, and all that's left is the mad craving for blood. Such is the way that Ashura has determined for it to be. Beings like you or I cannot go against this will."

Hua Yan was beginning to reach enlightenment on this matter, but the whole spiel on Ashura kept confusing him. Who was Ashura? Why had Hua Yan not heard any mentions of him if he was supposedly residing in this forest? Just how powerful did he have to be to have a conscious poison under his command? Was such a level of power even human anymore?
"Silly mortal, what you know of the world is just too little for me to give you any kind of answer that will give you any type of satisfaction. You are but a frog at the bottom of the well in this backwater place. If you follow the road that Ashura has carved out for you, then you will also see what lies beyond the heavens one day. Until then, just stop thinking and do as I say. It's what will work best for you."
Hua Yan wanted to ask more questions, but his brain began to buzz when he thought too much about Ashura or anything related to the matter. It looked like Frenzy was blocking off certain areas of his mind with brute force, directing his train of thought in a certain direction!
What a dangerous poison!
Hua Yan could not even combat this because he had no deep access to his mind like cultivators would have. He was just an ordinary mortal that was a little talented when given a blade. He was by no means someone that could wage a mental war in his own mind.
Against a baffling existence like Frenzy, Hua Yan stood no chance.
"Then, onto the next matter of business," Frenzy proclaimed, showing Hua Yan a new sight.
Hua Yan was brought back to reality, in the same place from which he had crawled out of the dirt. The battered body that he had been brought back into was now as good as new. Hua Yan was startled by this change. A few moments ago, it was rotting and falling to pieces. Now, however, it looked just as normal as any other body out there.
"This is a gift from Ashura," Frenzy explained, causing Hua Yan to pay great attention to its next following words, "Your old body was destroyed, but the Ashura still has some use for you. So he granted you this new one. Use it to carry out his will."
Hua Yan was skeptical of this matter.
This was a gift from Ashura? Not a compensation fees for robbing something that belonged to him? After all, if his guesses were correct, then the one that caused all of the problems that had happened to him was Ashura's poison, Frenzy.
If not for Frenzy, Hua Yan would have not murdered anyone and chased after his own death. He would have been way too rational to do such things. Because of Frenzy, however, he was robbed of his reason and reduced to nothing more than a wild animal that bit at anything that looked annoying or dangerous.
"It was your own fault for being poisoned," Frenzy answered in a rather toneless voice, "You were weak, so you fell victim to the Ashura's poison. You lacked the willpower, so you were unable to prevent the poison from acting up in key moments. Had you been stronger, none of this would have ever happened to you. If you want to prevent such things from happening in the future, become stronger. That is the mission that you have been tasked with by the Ashura."
Hua Yan felt that all of this was too oppressive. He didn't want to listen! He didn't want to be a slave of something or someone else, no matter how powerful they were. He wanted to live by his own code and do the things he wanted to? Why should he live his life in servitude?
"Why…" Hua Yan roared back, despite the pain in his head, "Why should I?!"
"It is your fate," Frenzy replied, increasing the pressure on Hua Yan, "You can wiggle your way against it, but you can never escape it without becoming stronger. So, become stronger."
After these words were finished, Hua Yan's vision went dark. He had exerted too much of his power just to muster a small form of resistance against Frenzy, and Frenzy wasn't even trying to suppress him in its fullest. Yet, the gap between their power was so vast that even this much was beyond what Hua Yan was capable of doing.
By straining himself in such a fas.h.i.+on, Hua Yan sent himself into an unwilling slumber.
