Chen Feng had broken into this secret chamber, Nine Firmaments Palace's greatest secret. That much was obvious. To their surprise, although Chen Feng had found this place, it was still intact. In Chen Feng's shoes, they would have chosen to destroy this place.

Feeling puzzled, they then stepped forward, utilizing various techniques to investigate the place. They were not fools. They suspected that Chen Feng had done something to the place. However, after spending some time investigating the place, they grew even more puzzled.

“Everything is normal.”

“Did Chen Feng only enter to see what is inside?”

“That doesn't make any sense.”

“Humph! It's very simple. He probably did not have the time to take action.”

“That's true. I have also heard that it hadn't been all that long since Chen Feng started cultivating. He is probably still too soft-hearted.”

“No matter what the reason may be, having everything operate normally is for the best. Unfortunately, though, our secret is now exposed.”

“Yes, that is a problem. Still, given our present level of strength, we need not fear anything now. Besides, we also have the Immortal Plane backing us. Unifying the entire world of cultivation is just a matter of time.”

“Alright, let's not spend too much time talking. Capture Chen Feng first. He is not to be underestimated. To think that he could bring two Ascendant Immortals with him.”

Chen Feng moved quickly. Thanks to the reinforcing power from his Immortal artefact, his stealth technique made him ghost-like. No, he was even harder to detect than a ghost.

To Chen Feng's surprise, he encountered three more secret chambers like the one he encountered earlier. There were 10,000 cultivators sealed inside every one of them.

As Chen Feng was looking around to uncover even more of Nine Firmaments Palace's secrets, he finally encountered another obstruction.

First, he was caught by an illusion-type magic array. Next, it was an offensive-type magic array. In the end, a high number of cultivators caught up to him. All of them were Earthen Immortals. There were also several high-level Earthen Immortals amongst them.

Chen Feng felt frustrated. He knew then that it was no longer possible for him to advance. Thus, he revealed himself, the silhouette of the Longevity Tower encasing his body as he swung the Netherbone Lance against one of the Earthen Immortals.

In the face of this Immortal artefact's attack, the Earthen Immortal did not panic. A thick barrier appeared before him. It looked like a layer of ice.

“Break!”

Chen Feng shouted and the lance pierced through the layer of ice. However, what power remained after breaking through the layer of ice was only able to smash the Earthen Immortal away. It had failed to kill him.

Just as Chen Feng was about to unleash another attack, the enemy attacks came. All of them landed upon Chen Feng. Even with the protection from the Longevity Tower, Chen Feng did not have an easy time. Most importantly, his attack was stopped.

Chen Feng clashed against them several times, but he failed to charge out. To his chagrin, he realized that he had been surrounded.

“Chen Feng, just surrender!” someone shouted.

“Heh!” Chen Feng scoffed. After taking several more attacks, he hurled the Netherbone Lance out. It pierced through the surrounding obstructions before smashing heavily against a distant mountain.

Boom!

The mountain exploded and a thick, chaotic, black-coloured and wicked aura charged into the sky. Next, one figure after another flew out from beneath the mountain. The moment they appeared, they emanated wicked auras that engulfed the entire Nine Firmaments Palace's headquarters.

“A ha ha ha ha ha ha! Finally, I, Patriarch Blackbale, is out!”

“Freedom!”

“I'm finally out!”

“It has been 80,000 years! I nearly went mad!”

“I am Premier Nightmare! Everyone, obey my commands. Attack Nine Firmaments Palace!”

“b.i.t.c.h please! I'm Patriarch Blackseizer, you're worth s.h.i.t in my eyes!”

“Enough nonsense! Let's destroy Nine Firmaments Palace first!”

Amidst the chaos, arrogant voices rang out. Hearing that, Chen Feng laughed, but the faces of the cultivators from Nine Firmaments Palace sank sharply.

“Chen Feng, you're a madman!” one of them shouted furiously.

“That's right! I am a madman! I want to level your Nine Firmaments Palace!” Chen Feng laughed loudly. He spread open his palm before grasping. Next, a formidable wave of nether energy charged out from the Netherbone Lance that was still beneath the mountain. Due to that, the opening it created grew even bigger and even more cultivators charged out from the ground.

Boom!

The entirety of Nine Firmaments Palace's headquarters shook. Next, magic arrays were activated and a formidable power converged to form a talisman, which swiftly sealed the opening.

Chen Feng, who had already recalled the Netherbone Lance, had wanted to attack again. However, another talisman – shining with golden light – descended upon him. Even before making contact, Chen Feng could already sense an overwhelming pressure bearing down against him. It felt as though the s.p.a.ce around him had become viscous and his movement speed became several times slower.

Next, the talisman pasted itself onto Chen Feng. Or more accurately, it pasted itself onto the silhouette of the Longevity Tower.

Instantly, Chen Feng felt as though a great mountain had appeared on top of his head, one made completely from gold and silver. It was incomparably heavy and unopposable.

It was then that the silhouette of the Longevity Tower shone with faint rays of yellow light. In the face of the faint-yellow light, the mountainous talisman began melting. In just the blink of an eye, the talisman had melted into nothingness.

Regaining the ability to move freely, Chen Feng swung the Netherbone Lance to block all the incoming attacks.

The pressure on Chen Feng had fallen. The number of cultivators who were besieging Chen Feng had fallen from tens of cultivators to only a handful. Due to that, Chen Feng's figure flashed forward a few times and he broke out from their encirclement.

Earlier, Chen Feng had broken open Nine Firmaments Palace's prison and several hundred prisoners had escaped. For them to end up here as captives of Nine Firmaments Palace, they were surely no ordinary characters. With just a glance, Chen Feng could see that there were several who were already on the verge of reaching the Ascendant Immortal stage.

For whatever reason, Nine Firmaments Palace had captured them and placed them in captivity all this time. They had lost their freedom and the ability to see the sky for so many years. And now, they were finally free. Naturally, thousands if not tens of thousands of years' worth of rage had acc.u.mulated inside them all. All that rage now poured out towards Nine Firmaments Palace. That was even more so when considering how chaotic the situation in Nine Firmaments Palace had become.

Venting their fury, taking advantage of the chaos and inflicting destruction upon the place. These fellows resorted to all sorts of methods to destroy Nine Firmaments Palace's headquarters.

Good! This is it! Chen Feng made use of the chaos to continue moving forward before finally discovering several of Nine Firmaments Palace's treasure rooms. Without so much as a glance, he collected everything into the Longevity Tower.

Given Chen Feng's current level of strength, the average treasures were simply beneath his notice. That said, doing so would greatly affect Nine Firmaments Palace.

The prisoners who escaped from captivity helped Chen Feng immensely. Due to their actions, Nine Firmaments Palace's headquarters was turned upside down. The cultivators from Nine Firmaments Palace were simply incapable of sparing any more men to go deal with Chen Feng.

Just as Chen Feng was feeling smug about it, Bi Qing's voice flowed towards him.

“Alright, kid. Come on up.”

Eh, what happened? Is it over already? Chen Feng grew puzzled. He sent his divine sense out and noticed that the commotion caused by the fight between the Ascendant Immortals had subsided.

Shaking his head, Chen Feng then quickly made his way to the surface. Along the way, he encountered a few Earthen Immortals. Chen Feng swept the floor with them.

“What is happening?” Chen Feng came to stand beside Bi Qing. There were also Heavenly Premier Absolute, Heavenly Premier Eternal, Heavenly Premier Heavensight and Heavenly Premier Four Cardinals there beside them.

“Greetings, seniors!” Chen Feng moved forward and saluted them. At the same time, he grew curious. He did not understand why the other three Heavenly Premiers would come as well. At any rate, he only had a relationship with Absolute Academy. He did not think that they would come to help him.

“You'll know soon enough. By the way, of the four Ascendant Immortals from Lightning Plane, two were killed off while the other two fled,” Bi Qing whispered.

Chen Feng nodded and stayed silent. The news that two Ascendant Immortals were killed was no longer enough to surprise Chen Feng.

One cultivator after another arrived, each displaying varying methods to appear. It did not take long before there were more than ten of them there. Even so, their number kept increasing. Every single one of them was an Ascendant Immortal!

Seeing that, Chen Feng finally grew shocked.

“Ha ha! Eternal World is not to be underestimated,” Chen Feng said with a chuckle.

“Naturally. If these Ascendant Immortals ascend to the Immortal Plane, they could form a considerable force.” Bi Qing nodded.

Upon their arrival, the Ascendant Immortals simply turned a blind eye towards the chaos unfolding within Nine Firmaments Palace's headquarters. In the end, when there were 30 Ascendant Immortals there, four of them stepped forward, taking action simultaneously to shift all the cultivators who were wreaking havoc there away.

Chen Feng felt a twinge of regret. In his opinion, the more damage Nine Firmaments Palace received, the better it would be. However, given the current state of affairs, there was indeed no way the chaos could continue.

Chen Feng pondered for a moment before smiling. “Now that it's come to this, is the Ascendant Immortal of Nine Firmaments Palace still not going to appear?”

“Oh, how do you know that Nine Firmaments Palace has an Ascendant Immortal?” Heavenly Premier Absolute, who was standing nearby, grew curious.

“It's a simple guess.” Chen Feng laughed.

“Your guess is correct. Nine Firmaments Palace does indeed have an Ascendant Immortal. Look, he's here.” A grin appeared on Heavenly Premier Absolute's face.

A stretch of s.p.a.ce was torn asunder to reveal a ma.s.sive spatial crack. Through the crack, Chen Feng saw the distant stars. Amongst the flashing stars, three specks of bright light streaked forward like meteors.

With a flash, three cultivators appeared. All three wore somewhat similar clothing. Sporting quaint-looking coronets on their heads and clad in starlight magic robes, they really looked like ancient Immortal Humans. Only, judging by the auras that they were exuding, it was clear that the three of them had been spending all their time exploring outer s.p.a.ce.

“These three fellows are Nine Firmaments Palace's Heavenly Premier Ninelink, Purple Firmaments Palace's Heavenly Premier Purple Glory and Transcendent Firmaments Palace's Heavenly Premier Transcendent Wind. They can be considered as peers from my generation. I haven't seen them for a long time now. I thought they had ascended to the Immortal Plane already.” Heavenly Premier Absolute sent Chen Feng a secret vocal transmission.

“Maybe they returned after ascending to the Immortal Plane. However, it doesn't seem that way.” Chen Feng responded with a chuckle. He deliberately cast a provocative look at the three fellows to see how they would react.

To Chen Feng's surprise, after they appeared, they merely gave Nine Firmaments Palace's headquarters a glance while maintaining a calm look. They did not reveal any other expression. It was as though the place that had been destroyed earlier was not their sect.

Even so, Chen Feng could sense a faint killing intent. He sneered inwardly and thought, These three fellows must have known what is happening here. And yet, they had chosen to not return until now. How unexpected.
