“To think that there would be loose cultivators who are more willing to put their lives on the line compared to the a.s.sa.s.sins from the Immortal Slaying Pavilion. Given how hard they had to cultivate to reach this level, these loose cultivators should value their lives more,” Chen Feng said with a chuckle.

“Their objective is you alone. All they need to do is kill you.”

“Looks like I failed to put on a strong enough deterring display of power back then. I am presently in critical need of time. They know this and do not want to give me the chance to develop.” Chen Feng nodded. 

“With our current might, a.s.sa.s.sinating a few half-step Gold Immortals is not particularly difficult,” the Dark Kirin suddenly said. 

“Since they've taken action, it would be remiss of me to not respond. With Heng Ri standing guard over the Primordial Mountain Range, there should be no issues there.” After saying that, Chen Feng and the Dark Kirin then swiftly set off. 

Heng Ri was the name of the variant wyrm. As a cultivator from the Extreme Yang Star Region, he cultivated the power of extreme yang. Since advancing to the Gold Immortal stage, he had been spending all his time in cultivation retreat.

Naturally, Chen Feng had also set up some precautionary measures as well. At any rate, the birth of a Gold Immortal could bring about the probing actions of certain people. More, some might take action to plunder the Ageless law of a new Gold Immortal.

Hopefully, no one would come. That was all Chen Feng could hope for. Back in the palace hall trials, Chen Feng had managed to – individually – defeat the clones of four Gold Immortals, but those Gold Immortals were not whole. 

The first battle was with the Starsource Order.

Even before approaching the Starsource Order's headquarters, Chen Feng could already sense the coming atmosphere of a great enemy. Hidden behind the layer after layer of magic arrays was a formidable power. Though, there was also a shaky quality there. Chen Feng knew then that the Starsource Order had been having a rough time of its own as well. 

And so, Chen Feng gave up the thought of a.s.sa.s.sinating their experts. Instead, he simply revealed himself and his formidable atmosphere of power slammed against the magic arrays there, throwing the Starsource Order's headquarters into a state of chaos. 

Chi!

The Dark Kirin took the lead in attacking, the dragon spear stabbing out to punch a deep hole through the arrays there.

“Tsk, tsk. The other party also has the support of a mid-grade Divine artifact. How unexpected! Are mid-grade Divine artifacts so worthless in the Immortal Plane now?” the Dark Kirin said with a chuckle.

“It is a sect with a legacy spanning billions of years, after all. Even the Six Daos Sword Faction has the Six Daos x.x.x. Only, it was taken away by Divine Monarch Six Daos.” Chen Feng brought out the Withered Bone and stabbed with it. First, a large hole appeared on the arrays before rapidly expanding in size. Due to the attack, the power and vitality of the arrays were continuously disappearing away.

“Who? Who dares come stir trouble in our Starsource Order?”

A half-step Gold Immortal who was in charge of defending the place had already recognized Chen Feng and the Dark Kirin. However, he did not appear. Instead, he simply bellowed from within the magic arrays. At the same time, he controlled the magic arrays to attack Chen Feng and the Dark Kirin.

Exchanging smiles, Chen Feng and the Dark Kirin then fired out their attacks simultaneously. The combat power of half-step Gold Immortals and two mid-grade Divine artifacts caused the entire place to quake. The half-step Gold Immortal inside the magic arrays swiftly puked out blood, terribly wounded from the attack. Some lesser cultivators who were either trying to counter attack or just too late in evading were terribly wounded, if not outright killed.

After a few breaths' worth of time, Chen Feng and the Dark Kirin left. It did not take long before several half-step Gold Immortals arrived. When those half-step Gold Immortals saw the utterly devastated magic arrays and the swath of ruins left by the two, their eyes burst into raging flames.

“They're going overboard here!”

“I suggest we do the same, attack the Six Daos Sword Faction!”

“You must have a death wish. Do not forget, the Six Daos Sword Faction now has a Gold Immortal.”

“Humph! He's just a rookie Gold Immortal. Someone will surely take action.”

“Annexing the Primordial Mountain Range will no longer be easy. Chen Feng represents the Celestial Longevity Plane while the Dark Kirin is the ruler of the Dark Plane. Our Starsource Order is in trouble now.”

Next up, Chen Feng and the Dark Kirin headed to the Immortal Sword Sect and Immortal Slaying Pavilion's headquarters. Again, they unleashed furious attacks upon the gates before leaving. Back then, several of Immortal Sword Sect's half-step Gold Immortals had already arrived. And yet, not one of them dared to attack.

Seeing that, Chen Feng knew that the three forces would quiet down for some time. This was the result that Chen Feng wanted.

“Young Master, someone came to see you.” 

A few days after Chen Feng returned to the Six Daos Sword Faction's headquarters, Da Feng came to Chen Feng's grotto-mansion to report.

“Oh, who?”

“It's a female cultivator from the Iron Blood Alliance.” A vaguely amused look flashed across Da Feng's eyes.

“The Iron Blood Alliance? Is it Xue Luosha?” Chen Feng was somewhat taken aback. Xue Luosha's image appeared in his mind.

“Come, bring me to her.”

Inside one of the reception halls within the Six Daos Sword Faction, Xue Luosha, clad in a fiery-red suit of armour, stood there waiting for Chen Feng's arrival. Beside her were several other Heavenly Immortals who came here with her. There was one thing all of them had in common. They were all bearing wounds.

I didn't think that he would actually have such a monumental background. Additionally, he even caused such a stir in the Immortal Plane. I wonder what kind of att.i.tude he will display when he sees me? Xue Luosha was feeling somewhat apprehensive.

“Sorry for the wait.” As Xue Luosha was pondering the issue, Chen Feng walked in.

“Chen Feng.” Xue Luosha was somewhat surprised. Seeing Chen Feng made her feel somewhat lost. At that very moment, the atmosphere that Chen Feng gave her was somewhat different from the past. Although he was just a half-step Heavenly Immortal, the aura of dominance that he was subconsciously exuding made it so Xue Luosha had a hard time breathing. In addition, there was also a natural air of ancient n.o.bility about him.

“It's been a while.” A smile appeared on Chen Feng's face. After giving them a glance, he continued, “Looks like you fellow encountered some troubles.”

“The Iron Blood Alliance is no more. We are here to seek protection from you,” Xue Luosha said, gritting her teeth.

“What happened?” Chen Feng waved his hand and several streams of longevity energy flowed respectively into the bodies of Xue Luosha and the other cultivators there. 

Pa! Pa! Pa! Pa! Pa!

After a series of popping sounds, their pale faces turned healthier.

“Thank you, Young Master!”

A total of five Heavenly Immortals had come here together with Xue Luosha. They all had serious injuries on them, but thanks to Chen Feng's help, their bodies became more or less healed.

“I have no issues with accepting you fellows. However, I believe you all know as well how tumultuous my present situation is. If you fellows do not mind, then I will sincerely welcome you all,” Chen Feng said with a smile.

“Greetings, Young Master!”

Xue Luosha and the five Heavenly Immortals, with a serious expression on their faces, bowed towards Chen Feng.

“Alright. Now, let's talk about what happened.”

“It is both simple and strange. Simple in that our Iron Blood Alliance was wiped out by another force. This is a very normal occurrence in the Immortal Plane.” After saying that, Xue Luosha paused for a moment. 

“Yes. Annexation of other forces and war between sects are very normal in the Immortal Plane. A high number of forces would disappear every day. Likewise, a high number of new forces would emerge every day.” Chen Feng nodded. 

“The strange part is, we do not know the background of the other party. All we know is that they are very strong. They were able to easily wipe out our Iron Blood Alliance. More, they also wiped out the Mountains and Rivers Alliance, Sun Moon Alliance, Iron Sword Alliance and several others. They had wiped out a total of eight alliances.” Xue Luosha could not stop herself from sighing.

“Given how strong they are, there should have been no need for them to do that. Just a display of their shocking power would have been enough for us to surrender to them,” one of the Heavenly Immortals behind Xue Luosha then interjected.

“Eight alliances? In other words, they have taken over quite the sizable territory. Could it be a hidden family who's making a sudden climb to power?” Chen Feng felt puzzled.

After pondering it for a moment, Chen Feng then asked, “Do you know how strong they are?” 

“All Heavenly Immortals, over 100 of them.” Without missing a beat, Xue Luosha answered.

“No wonder. If so, you fellows could be considered lucky to be able to escape.”

“The other party did not ma.s.sacre us. They simply sent us packing. It seems what they want is to take over our territory. By the way, I have this feeling. Those people don't feel like native cultivators from the Immortal Plane. Rather, it feels as though they are from the Celestial Planes,” Xue Luosha said, a slight note of uncertainty in her voice.

“Celestial Planes? I understand. I will investigate this issue.” Chen Feng nodded his head before giving instructions to his subordinates to make arrangements for Xue Luosha and her group. 

Seeing Chen Feng turning to leave, Xue Luosha hastily said, “It's not just us here. There are other cultivators as well.”

Of course, before coming here, Chen Feng had already known how many men Xue Luosha brought over. There were over 10,000 men. They were the cultivators from the Iron Blood Alliance and other alliances. Only, they were mostly Ascendant Immortals and True Immortals. The number of Heavenly Immortals was very small.

Given the present situation, accepting these cultivators appeared somewhat unwise. But in Chen Feng's opinion, his side needed more cultivators. And although their levels were low, they would make a formidable foundation for his force.

After merging with various other forces, the Six Daos Sword Faction also gave its group a new name, the Six Daos Alliance. And Chen Feng's t.i.tle was changed from Faction Premier to Alliance Lord. 

Perhaps it was due to the deterring effect of Chen Feng and the Dark Kirin's actions, but no other forces came over to trouble them for some time. Thanks to that, the Six Daos Sword Faction gradually became more orderly. The Six Daos Sword Faction brought out some of its savings while Chen Feng and the Dark Kirin brought out large amounts of cultivation resources, allowing the power of the Six Daos Alliance to rise with every pa.s.sing day.

Even while the Six Daos Alliance was developing, they were constantly on guard against the surrounding forces. Chen Feng and the others made preparations. In Chen Feng's opinion, the Starsource Order's side would not simply stand by and allow the Six Daos Alliance to grow. Surface wise, they were staying silent, seemingly deterred by the actions taken by Chen Feng and the Dark Kirin. However, Chen Feng knew that those forces must be secretly planning something. 

But before those forces could even take action, Heng Ri, who was in cultivation retreat all this time, came under attack.

Thanks to the connection from the soul shackle, Chen Feng was instantly alarmed. He rapidly notified the Dark Kirin before rus.h.i.+ng towards the place of battle.

Upon his arrival there, Chen Feng secretly breathed a sigh of relief. “Heng Ri had time to set up a spatial battlefield. This proves that the enemy is not too strong.”

“This variant wyrm is not to be underestimated. His genes are very strong. Although he had only just broken through to the Gold Immortal stage, he is already strong enough to fight off some normal Gold Immortals,” the Dark Kirin said, the dragon spear in his hand swinging forward to cut out an opening into the separate pocket dimension. Next, the two of them charged in. 

Opening a pocket dimension at will. Cultivators that had developed a bodily world were the only ones with this ability.

Within the pocket dimension, two ma.s.sive clumps of golden light were colliding against one another without respite. Every collision would result in formidable waves of devastating power. But the waves of devastating power did not immediately disappear. Instead, they kept on roiling and gathering within the pocket dimension.

Heng Ri. Raw: '恆日', pinyin: 'héng rì'. It can also be roughly translated as 'Lasting Sun'.

On an added note, 'Extreme Yang', raw: '太陽', pinyin: 'tàiyáng' also just means 'sun'
