Early morning, Su Bai was still sleeping when the doorbell rang. He had accompanied the little fella watching cartoons until late night. The little fella was only willing to sleep after watching a whole series, causing Su Bai to oversleep.
Su Bai lifted up his blanket and saw the little fella was sucking his thumb and sleeping soundly on his belly. His fair and delicate little limbs looked really cute.
Little children are originally very cute, furthermore, the little fella does did wet the bed and did not cry and scream. Every time he wanted to go to the toilet, he would pull Su Bai's arm and then make a few yi ya yi ya yo sounds, and Su Bai would carry him to pee. When Su Bai was not around, for example midnight last night when Su Bai was sitting on the sofa drinking wine and watching the news, he just s.h.i.+fted his gaze and saw Lucky lifting the little fella by the pants with its mouth carrying him into the bathroom. The little fella was very cooperative.
Even though Lucky was just a cat, it was more than enough to care for the little fella.
Su Bai gently carried the little fella from his belly and placed him on the bed. Lucky who was sleeping on the bedside opened its eyes. It saw Su Bai was getting up and knew it was time to occupy the little fella all for itself. It immediately curled up beside the little fella. It's cats tail was swaying and continuously tapping gently on the little fella's body.
Seeing Lucky dote on the little fella, Su Bai couldn't help but smile. He had a sudden impulse to flip Lucky over to see it was a male or female cat. To be honest, Su Bai had never notice this point since he and Lucky's relations.h.i.+p were not just simply owner and pet. Lucky would not suddenly run over to Su Bai's feet and flip over and coquettishly reveal its belly to Su Bai.
Su Bai walked over to the door while still wearing his pajamas. He could see who was at the door through the surveillance monitor. It was Sofia.
This woman had mentioned yesterday that she would accompany him to the psychological research center; she really did appear today.
Su Bai honestly did not wish to mingle much with the audiences in the west. The other party's treatment to himself was more of a deterrence against Litchi. It was hostility between them and Litchi. Litchi was too vicious and cold-blooded at that time, causing the animosity to rise, transforming into a petrifying feeling.
Su Bai knew his own worth; borrowing a little of the tiger's skin to act unfathomable would do. If he had the mentality to fish in troubled waters, then he might not even know how he died. The others were no fools.
He opened the door and Sofia was holding a thermos container.
"I brought you breakfast. It's Chinese style breakfast. I bought it from Chinatown."
"Thanks, but there's chinese food in the hotel."
"The hotel's food is not authentic." Sofia directly walked into the living room. She placed the breakfast on the teapoy and carefully opening it. The chopsticks and spoon were also already placed. "Chinese dishes are nouris.h.i.+ng. I normally like to eat them. I even know how to cook them."
"Not bad." Su Bai grinned. He walked into the bedroom and carried the little fella over. The little fella woke up in a disoriented state. He subconsciously cuddled Su Bai by the neck. "Time to get up and have breakfast."
Su Bai then carried the little fella into bathroom.
The little fella did not know how to brush his teeth. Su Bai prepared some mouthwash for him just for the sake of it. Since he was smart enough and would not be silly enough to drink the mouthwash.
After the little fella spit out the mouthwash, Su Bai placed him in the bathtub while biting on his toothbrush and turn on the hot water.
Lucky came in at this moment. Its cat paw pressed on the shower cream and shampoo. The little fella giggled as he clapped the water surface. Lucky squat down beside the bathtub and used its paw to bath the little fella.
When Su Bai had finished was.h.i.+ng up, Lucky had also finished scrubbing the little fella. He released the water from the bathtub and used the faucet to wash away all the soap in the little fella's body.
Su Bai used a big towel to wrap the little fella up and carried him into the living room.
"Such an adorable child. Is he your love child, Su?"
"He's my son." Su Bai nodded his head and placed the little fella on the sofa.
Sofia's maternal instinct erupted at this moment and intentionally sat closer. She gently blew on a shaomai[1] she held with a chopstick and fed the little fella.
The little fella ate happily. He really likes to be fed when eating. Most of the time after Su Bai finished cooking, he would place him on the table and wring his bare b.u.t.t to eat his food.
Lucky had never been interested in human food but it still purposely carried out a little blanket from the bedroom and placed it beside the little fella. It then returned to the bedroom.
After seeing Lucky, Sofia's expression turned ugly. She felt dread deep in her heart.
Su Bai understood this point. If he was in her shoes, it was reckoned he would react the same way as Sofia.
"He is your child with her?" Sofia asked.
Sofia had guessed based on Lucky's att.i.tude and care for the little fella. She felt the little fella was Su Bai and Litchi's child. If it was this way, it made sense for Su Bai who only had two completed tasks to have Lucky by his side.
Litchi's ice-cold demeanor which could ward people away by a thousand miles appeared in Su Bai's mind; it would be difficult to have a child with her. He did not continue on with the topic. He took a bun, dipped it in vinegar and started eating.
When they were done eating, Su Bai turned on the television and pa.s.sed the remote control to the little fella. He then changed and walked out the door. Sofia followed behind Su Bai. When the door was closed, Su Bai saw Sofia heave a sigh of relief.
"It's been hard on you."
"It's fine. This is beneficial to increase my mental state." Sofia was quite open-minded.
The car was parked outside the hotel, and it was the same car from yesterday. Sofia started the car and Su Bai sat at the pa.s.senger seat.
When the car was moving, Sofia pa.s.sed Su Bai some information.
"What is this?" Su Bai flipped through.
"We are clear about the person's ident.i.ty who helped you made an appointment. But she is not qualified to make an appointment with the best doctor of the research facility. I've helped you make a brand-new appointment. He's one of the people in charge of this research center, an expert in psychology. One of his task is to conduct a psychological evaluation for our president on a regular basis."
"Heh heh. Your president is quite pitiful. He is not allowed to go bonkers."
Su Bai couldn't help but smile when saying this; he had overly subst.i.tuted himself. Being unable to go bonkers was a regretful thing, occasionally going over the bend and being unrestrained was quite enjoyable. A majority of people normally constrained themselves by multiple restrictions and regulations, being manipulated by benefits and relations. How many people could go unbridled for once?
The research center looked like a castle. The entrance security was very tight, giving off a feeling that it was a national inst.i.tution.
"This is Count Edward's castle. His family had started to devotedly promote psychological research since his great-grandfather's time. Edward is the person treating you today."
This research center was not a hospital. There were no processes like registering for outpatient treatment. Ordinary people had no way of seeking treatment here. Regardless of the capitalist society or China, the difference in social ranking was obvious.
Su Bai sat inside a study. Sofia went out to contact the psychiatrist for Su Bai. The attendant sent in coffee and desserts.
There were quite a number of books and famous paintings in the study; Su Bai held the cup of coffee and paced back and forth looking around. He wasn't too worried about his medical condition. If he was an ordinary person and wanted to continue living a stable life, then he needed to treat this mental disorder as soon as possible. The problem was Su Bai would continue entering the story world. At that darn place, it would relapse even if he had fully recovered, just like a person who just recovered from a cold suddenly being sent into an ice house.
There was a painting in the study that Su Bai found familiar. The painting had a little slope on a gra.s.sland. On the slope, there were back figures of a lady and a child sitting on the gra.s.s viewing the sunset. The whole painting ill.u.s.trated a very beautiful feeling.
Su Bai could not help but reach out, wanting to gently caress the woman in the picture, but at this moment, a very stern voice sounded from behind him:
"Stop, crude mister!"
Su Bai was stunned. He turned around and saw a grey haired, bearded old man who wore a white s.h.i.+rt. Sofia was standing next to the old man, looking awkward.
"Sofia, you set my appointment with this guest? He actually dares to use his hands to touch my painting. Do you know how meaningful this painting is to me!"
The old fella was still grumbling on. Su Bai just stood there awkwardly. His gaze was still on that painting.
Sofia was still appeasing the old man. She even used other people's names to put pressure on the old man not to be headstrong.
Finally, the old man walked to Su Bai. "Where is your medical record?"
Su Bai shrugged his shoulders. "I do not have a medical record."
The old man inhaled a deep breath: "Really troublesome. Don't tell me I need to start from the basics and conduct a psychological evaluation. Sofia, my time is very precious!"
However, he only grumbled a few lines before sitting down; he also indicated for Su Bai to sit down.
Sofia silently left the study.
The old man looked into Su Bai's eyes without moving. Su Bai also looked into his eyes without moving.
Su Bai gradually realized the old man's pupils had turned into a vortex; he slowly started to allow himself to submerge inside.
Su Bai's instinct after experiencing multiple life and death scenarios made him subconsciously be on guard, and at the same time, he couldn't control his impulse to retaliate.
The old man closed his eyes and rubbed the bridge of his nose. When he opened his eyes, he had a grave expression.
"Actually mister, you shouldn't come to my research center.
"You should be sent to Guantanamo Bay detention camp[2]!"
