Chapter 165

Aroma was sitting in a coffee shop in Pudong airport terminal. A cup of coffee and a plate of dessert was placed in front of her. She was wearing a pair of sungla.s.ses, not allowing strangers to approach. She seems to be appear bleak.

A young man walked over while pus.h.i.+ng his luggage trolley and sat opposite Aroma.

She took off her sungla.s.ses and looked at Su Bai opposite her, then said in surprise:

"I thought you would be low on spirits recently. I never thought your complexion would look fine."

Su Bai wasn't courteous. He placed the little fella on his lap. He then reached out for the coffee in front of Aroma and took a sip.

"Aren't I fine?"

"I heard that he went to your place and caused a scene when he was drunk these few days. How did you handle it?" Aroma asked curiously.

Su Bai chuckled. "The first day, I accompanied him to drink. He asked me why the whole night, I did not answer him.

"The second day, he directly got himself drunk first and smashed my house door, then got beaten up by me. He came again the third day and once again got beaten up. He then came again on the fourth day but was beaten up again. En, he did not appear on the fifth day."

"Why?"

"I broke his leg," Su Bai smiled as he spoke.

Aroma nodded her head. "Very intense."

"I have a clear conscience." Su Bai answered truthfully. If it wasn't because of Chu Zhao, he wouldn't be involved in the reality task this time. He had played his part as a friend to Chu Zhao and absolutely had a clear conscience. Even though there were some things which were not convenient to explain to Chu Zhao, Su Bai definitely did not think of himself as a Holy Mother who did good things and was willing to be wronged and misunderstood.

Chu Zhao's foot was broken by Su Bai but it wasn't serious. He just needed to lay in bed for half a month and would recover without any sequela. Su Bai was still able to control his strength.

Because the reality task was over, there were no longer any restrictions on the involved parties. Dreadful Radio would no longer clean up the mess. When Chu Jianguo who 'did not know' his son was missing found out his son's leg was injured, he went into a rage and wanted to make an arrest but was persuaded by Chu Zhao otherwise.

"You also did not attend Xiao Hui's funeral."

"Is there any meaning to attend?" Su Bai took out his flight ticket indifferently:.

"It's almost time, we could prepare to board."

"En."

Aroma did not continue to ask Su Bai about the previous incident. She was more involved than Chu Zhao. With the intuition of a woman, she chose not to dig deeper.

After boarding the plane, Su Bai settled down the little fella and Lucky and then closed his eyes and rested. Aroma was sitting in the economy cla.s.s and was not with Su Bai. Using Aroma's own words, she was wearing her military uniform and had to maintain a low key. If it so happened that a busybody snapped a picture of her in her military uniform sitting in the first cla.s.s and so on, netizens would be criticizing her and it was not worth the risk.

Su Bai did not face such problems. He wasn't a public official and was indeed rich. Even though he was not listed in the rich list, based on Su Bai's daily spending habits, he really did not need to worry about a lack of money.

Su Bai took a nap on the plane. Even though it was just a light nap, it was quite comfortable. The little fella waited until the flight was stable then he crawled onto Su Bai's lap. When Su Bai woke up, he realized the little fella's saliva had wet his pants.

He gently carried the little fella and smelled a milky fragrance which belonged to children. Su Bai's mood became very tranquil. Or it was better to say, he could truly find peace when he was with the little fella.

When the plane landed, Aroma gave Su Bai an address and left to report for duty at the emba.s.sy. She had work to do and could not be Su Bai's tour guide. Of course, Su Bai did not need any tour guide.

The address Aroma gave was a psychological research center. Su Bai felt dizzy seeing a whole line of English alphabets and t.i.tles. It wasn't that he did not understand. Struggling between life and death for a long period of time in the story world before this, as well the torment from the reality task and suddenly ending up in a foreign country right now made him feel mentally drained. He felt like he had entered yet another story world.

After parting ways with Aroma, Su Bai went to the hotel he had booked. He actually had property in London, but it was more convenient to stay in a hotel.

The little fella was very curious about the many foreigners on the street. He was crawling on Su Bai's shoulder, and his little eyes were looking around along the way. When they arrived at their room. Su Bai placed him on the bed and went to wash up in the bathroom. When he came out, the little fella had crawled from the bed to the window and was watching the scenery outside.

To him, the world was still unknown and mysterious, filling him with an insatiable curiosity. The world to Su Bai and many other people was tiring, filled with enormous pressure.

"We'll have western food today."

There was carpeting on the floor and Su Bai was not worried that the little fella would catch a cold crawling around. There was also Lucky watching him. When Su Bai walked to the phone and was about to call room service, his own phone rang.

It was the hotel's number. Su Bai pressed the loudspeaker.

"Do you remember me?"

The woman's voice in the phone was languid, as if she had just woken up.

"I do."

Of course, Su Bai remembered. It was Sofia. There was a wand in his luggage, and he planned to conduct a trade with Sofia over here.

"That's great. I was checking some details today and realized you were on that flight. I initially thought you were just an ordinary person in real life. Who would have known you were actually so rich in your country? No, no. Your corporation actually has some business ventures in England."

Even though Su Bai was very low profile in his country, there were many things which couldn't be concealed. When hidden billionaires like himself went overseas and were on the same flight with people with sensitive ident.i.ties like Aroma, it definitely would attract some attention. It wasn't difficult for special investigation agencies in England to investigate Su Bai's ident.i.ty and information.

"Don't you all pay particular attention to human rights?" Su Bai asked; news about himself was being monitored and exposed.

"Those are just courteous words to deceive voters. Too many homeless refugees came over these two years. If we only focused on protecting privacy, London would be like Paris. A terrorist attack when there's nothing better to do. China clearly is one of the countries that signed the agreement and yet have no practical measures for offering shelter. If not, we in Europe would not be so exhausted."

"Fine, ask those refugees to climb over the Tibetan Plateau[1]. We will welcome them with open arms." Su Bai teased.

"Let me see, hold on. Right, you still have an appointment in a psychological research center. That's really interesting. You are the first audience I know who faced pressure in the story world and seek psychological treatment overseas."

Sofia started laughing as she kept talking.

"I've brought the stuff over. You can come over to the hotel. You do not need to bring anything. Just help me exchange some items from the e-shop when you are here."

"Okay. Open the door."

Su Bai was stunned and then he smiled. He walked to the door and opened it. The lift door at the opposite coincidentally opened. Sofia who was holding the phone with one hand and a briefcase in the other walked over in her red high heels.

Sofia gave Su Bai a quick, flirtatious glance. She then walked into Su Bai's room and sat on the sofa.

"Is it alright for me to first view the item? Don't worry, I will not conduct double-crossing, shady business. You should be clear that there are no benefits to break all pretenses of cordiality with an audience in the real world."

Su Bai opened his luggage and took out the wand.

"Hold on. I am also interested in the beads in your luggage."

"Fine, we can deal together." Su Bai was very straightforward. He had actually planned trade the beads with Fatty the Taoist priest, but it would be more convenient to trade it together right now.

Su Bai placed the wand and the beads on the teapoy.

"How much do you want?" Sofia smiled as she asked.

"Two hundred story points." Su Bai replied.

"Too expensive."

"Fixed price." Su Bai continue replying.

"One hundred and fifty story points." Sofia said.

Su Bai smiled without talking.

Sofia's phone rang at this moment. She made a halt sign and answered the call.

"En. I'm here. En. That group from LM Vampire Club have started gathering?

"Fine, I know. I will handle it immediately."

When Su Bai heard the two words "vampire club", his ears twitched. There were many youngsters who wors.h.i.+ped vampires in the west. A majority of them were unrelated to vampires, but they wors.h.i.+ped and were infatuated with vampires. There were many vampire clubs, and some extremists would organize human blood drinking and even release their own blood to be drank.

Sofia did not know about Su Bai's vampire lineage. During that story world, Su Bai and Sofia were at different cycles and rarely met. During the ending where they rushed out of the forest into the convenience store, Su Bai used his zombie state and not his weak vampire state. Su Bai was very certain.

Sofia's profession was not ordinary and was similar to national security. Based on Sofia's special ident.i.ty, it might be related to supernatural activity. This meant that the vampire club might not be ordinary.

Sofia ended the call. Su Bai wanted to agree to one hundred and fifty story points with the condition that she brought him along to that club but Sofia stated first:

"Two hundred story points for the deal, but you must accompany me to that vampire club to handle some stuff."

"Two hundred and fifty story points, and I will accompany you." Su Bai haggled while giving an unwilling look.
