"BANG!"
This was Su Bai's first time firing the h.e.l.lfire Shotgun since he exchanged it. The reason was simple; the ammunition was too expensive. Su Bai was really not willing to find an empty s.p.a.ce to practice his shots for no reason. It was too extravagant, so extravagant that Su Bai felt heartache.
However, because of this, he had high expectations for this gun deep down in his heart. The price of the gun alone was an extravagant amount, a thousand story points. Even the ammunition needed to exchanged differently. This gun should not be a disappointment.
When the bullet was shot out, Su Bai felt his own hands slightly trembling. There was a feeling that he couldn't suppress the recoil, and the gun nearly flew out of his hands.
It was not like Su Bai had never fired a gun before. He had plenty of chances to hold a gun, and his standards were not bad in this extrcurricular. He was also very well aware about recoil, but the recoil from the h.e.l.lfire Shotgun startled him.
Luckily, the shot did not miss, the scattered bullets made up for the inaccuracy of the shot.
In an instant, the gun fired out crimson-colored, radiant granules, striking that shadow.
The air was diffused with a light smell of ash. This smell contained remnants of magical aura. Su Bai was unclear about the specifics of the magic enhancement effects; the results, however, were able to make him feel tongue-tied about the destructive force of this gun.
The shadow was immediately scattered, and its whole body was shredded into meat paste. Only a single arm remained in almost perfect condition and fell onto the floor.
Su Bai took a step forward and stepped on the arm. The arm seemed to have consciousness and tried to get up and prepare to leave, but it could only put up a final struggle under Su Bai's foot.
The meat paste on the floor obviously did not look fresh, proving that within the shadow earlier was a human. Other than the arm of that person, the other parts of his body could not be considered a normal human's.
The door was pushed open, and there was a woman wearing pyjamas who was in her forties. She should have been taking her afternoon nap. Seeing this scene right in front of her doorstep, that woman's eyes rolled back and she fainted.
Su Bai was certain that his back was facing that lady and was not worried that his ident.i.ty would be revealed in the follow-up. In truth, Su Bai had already experienced a reality mission together with the monk previously. When you were carrying out a reality mission, the audience was considered to be helping Dreadful Radio, and Dreadful Radio would provide some a.s.sistance in return. For example, helping you with the aftermath and other things. Otherwise, if the audience was carrying out a reality mission and were discovered or recorded, wouldn't they be considered an actual edition of a superhero?
Su Bai remembered the results of experience task when he first encountered Dreadful Radio Game. The white collared lady he stabbed to death was certified dead from a heart attack by the police. It was clear that Dreadful Radio Game would play a role in helping the audiences clear their mess.
Su Bai discovered a set of keys when he poked around the meat paste with the tip of his shoe. The keys looked shabby and obviously did not match with the doors of this building. It would be weird if any door were to be unlocked by it. It was no wonder that fella kept on twisting the keys around outside the house. He was trying out every single one.
This was actually quite an effective method. If the people in the houses heard such sounds, they would guess that people in their family just got home and were unable to open the door for some unknown reason. They would automatically open up the door and be met with a vicious a.s.sault. It had quite the style of a supernatural story.
Vicious a.s.sault?
This was really quite an occasion.
Su Bai squatted down, held that arm with his own hand. It was an arm of a male and filled with calluses. It was still dripping wet. Blisters were continuously pouring out from the palm; that should be how the palm prints in the walls came about.
Despite being held tightly, the arm was not settled. It kept on struggling, trying to break free from Su Bai's grasp.
"Do you have intelligence?" Su Bai asked, bringing a threat of death in his tone.
The hand continued to struggle. It was obviously unfazed by Su Bai's threat.
Su Bai furrowed his brows. This arm gave him the feeling that it only had the urge to slaughter and had no signs of intelligence. He thought he could gather some information if the arm could write something, but to his dismay, the arm was like a wild beast with no signs of rationality.
Su Bai threw the arm to the floor and pointed the nozzle of the gun at it. He thought for a moment and turned the gun over, held on to the front and smashed down with the recoil pad. The arm was instantly smashed up. Su Bai had experimented on the effects of the h.e.l.lfire Shotgun being used as a blunt weapon; he still wasn't disappointed with the results.
Su Bai headed downstairs. Chu Zhao's entrance door was closed, which caused Su Bai to have doubts. Su Bai remembered that he did not tidy up the housekeeper's corpse when he went upstairs earlier. The housekeeper should have maintained the posture of both arms tied like a knot.
Su Bai walked downstairs and reached out to push the door. The door was closed and wouldn't open.
Someone came along during the mid-interval and quietly moved the corpse into the house?
Who could it be?
"Who is it?"
Someone questioned from inside the house, bringing a languid demeanor.
It was the housekeeper.
Su Bai's lips curled up into a smile. This was getting more and more interesting.
This was the real world and not the story world. To have such an outrageous situation appear in the real world surprised Su Bai a little. It even gave him a sense of excitement.
Yes, excitement.
Su Bai felt he was going psycho. From common sense, Su Bai felt very happy because Dreadful Radio was on a three-month hiatus. But from an emotional angle, he was feeling at a loss.
Su Bai unwittingly had a change of mentality. The pleasures gained from murder by establis.h.i.+ng the Murder Club in the past had transformed into entering unimaginable story worlds to experience the struggles of death.
To Su Bai, three months with no story worlds to experience was like a young lad in the prime of youth who had just tasted the forbidden fruit and was facing three months of suppressed desire; he couldn't be rubbing it with his own hands.
Someone walked up from the staircase at this moment. It was Chu Zhao, and he was holding on to Xiao Hui's hand, walking up step by step. His other hand was holding a plastic bag containing medicine. They should have just returned from the hospital.
"Su Bai, what are you doing here?" Chu Zhao saw Su Bai standing in front of the entrance of his home and asked in surprise.
"There is something. I'm here looking for you," Su Bai replied. Following that, his gaze s.h.i.+fted towards Xiao Hui. That yellowing photograph in the folder indicated that there were many issues. Why did the current Xiao Hui look exactly like w.a.n.g Xue? They definitely couldn't be twins, and this wasn't a cliché plot where the elder sister died and the younger sister returned for revenge.
Xiao Hui tried to hide away from Su Bai's gaze, but due to the perfect timing, the sense of foreboding towards Su Bai was displayed naturally.
'Are you Xiao Hui or w.a.n.g Xue? Who exactly is the woman's spirit that appeared?'
"Come in and have a seat. That's not right; there's someone in my house. I hired a housekeeper through an agency previously. You didn't knock?"
The house door opened when Chu Zhao was speaking. Su Bai felt slight chills on the skin of the back of his hand the moment the door was opened.
Xiao Hui was a little surprised and looked towards the door of her home. She had obviously felt it, and she unintentionally glanced at Su Bai since she thought Su Bai had brought it over.
In truth, Su Bai was only the experiencer and not the designer.
"You both are back. Is sister Hui alright?" The housekeeper walked over enthusiastically and held on to Xiao Hui's arm and supported Xiao Hui into the house.
Chu Zhao was in no rush to enter and stood right in front of Su Bai. He pa.s.sed Su Bai a cigarette and asked curiously, "You're really not hiding anything from me?"
Su Bai shook his head. Informing Chu Zhao at this moment was obviously creating a larger mess. The development of things was beyond Su Bai's control and expectations and had the intention of aiming at this place.
Su Bai a.s.sumed that this was just a simple routine in the mission process previously. The grieving and tearful Xiao Hui was the NPC who issued and triggered the mission; he could be at ease after accepting the mission, search and hand in the item and give a perfect ending to the mission. However, since coercing Xiao Hui to reveal herself in the washroom until now, Su Bai realized that the dangers surrounding Chu Zhao had never lessened.
Su Bai had an urge to knock out Chu Zhao and tie him up somewhere for a few days and only release him after everything was settled. Even though they were best friends, he was involved in all this all because of him. Su Bai was not willing to let any accidents occur to him and was not willing to let him mess up the tempo of his thoughts, at the same time, making him hold back from taking action.
Chu Zhao nodded his head indicating for Su Bai to enter the house with him.
Both men sat at the teapoy, silently smoking without talking to each other. Xiao Hui was already resting inside the bedroom while the housekeeper carried over the cups of ready-made tea solicitously.
After entering the house, a part of Su Bai's attention was focussed towards the housekeeper.
This was originally a woman who brought in her lover and died here, and yet she was now leaping and frisking about in front of him making herself busy. Su Bai found it amusing and weird at the same time.
After placing the cup of tea, the housekeeper returned to kitchen. Su Bai subconsciously touched his own nose and gazed at the housekeeper's silhouette.
"What's up? Interested? This is easy, I can help you settle it." Chu Zhao at this moment started to act like a pimp.
Su Bai didn't know whether to laugh or to cry. Is this fella's brain filled with sperm?
Didn't he notice that the housekeeper's heels were not touching the ground[1] as if she was hovering even though she was wearing slippers?
