Vol 8 Chapter 14.2

Hai~

Cao Cao may have just fallen asleep or she may not have. At the same time, in another place, in a small village in Jing state, a young girl looked up at the stars. Today she had no mood to make out the constellations and name the stars, and was doing some readings from the stars. A gust of wind blew as her eyes bulged, and then she sighed.

“I made it so clear to him but why won’t he listen?” The young girl said as she blinked, and sighed once more.

“How could someone from a thousand years in the future have such low intelligence, and no concept of history at all? This is truly vexing.” She shook her head when she finished, and trembled from the cold.

“Hahaha, I never thought that there were things that could trouble you, Kong Ming.” Behind her, a tall woman with a kind expression and her eyes half-closed laughed as she spoke in a tone laced with surprise.

“I warned him as per your instructions. Either he didn’t want to listen, or he has his own plans.”

“The warning was direct and clear enough.” The young girl shook her head, “It’s a good thing he didn’t join Cao Cao. If that happened, history would completely change.”

“Completely change… Huh.” The tall woman repeated the young girl’s words as she bit her lips. She felt that it wouldn’t matter even if it completely changed, but she didn’t say this. She wasn’t involved after all. If Kong Ming hadn’t asked her for help, she would have continued to be an observer.

“It’s alright now, but I can’t believe that Liu Bei didn’t come here first, and went to Jiangdong.” The young girl was enraged and threw a childish tantrum by kicking the rocks beside her as she continued, “Jiangxia is supposed to be a minor affair but the timelines have changed tremendously, and with his prior trip to Jiangdong, who knows what will crop up now?! Nothing big has happened yet but small disturbances have continued to happen over and over. He really is troublesome.”

If things went as the girl intended them to, then after the Battle of Jiangxia, Liu Bei should have received Dilu, taken in Xu Shu and made his way to Xinye. And then, he would come to where she was. After that, she could control everything and return history on its proper tracks. But now, the differences wrre continuing to grow and even she wasn’t sure if she could restore things to how they were supposed to be.

“Why not let things progress as they are?”

“Ms Yu Ji, please don’t joke around. Neither you nor I can bear the responsibility for that.” The girl said, revealing a mature expression that was at odds with how old she was as she continued to look at the skies, “What I need to do, is what I ought to do.”

“Will there be a problem?” The tall woman teased. Faced with this doubt, the girl didn’t even look at the woman, and only raised her arm and pointed at the woman with her feather fan, her eyes filled with resolve as she replied.

“What I’ve said has always come to fruition! Even if it is you, Ms Yu Ji, what grounds do you have to doubt me?”

… Un, I guess she’s right.

The tall woman did not continue any further and only smiled.

The pa.s.sage of time continued to flow, through Xu state, through Guandu, and now it has come to Jiangxia. What kind of trouble is that silly boy going to give me at Jiangxia?

The girl began to get worried. But as she sighed, she tucked away her worries.

It will be fine. I will deal with anything that comes.
