Chapter 1167 Is It Painful?
Once all three of them entered the wooden house, Davis just turned back when Sophie Alstreim suddenly smoothly jumped towards him, causing his eyes to widen. But contrary to his expectations, she gently dragged away to his room as she held his right hand with one hand and held his back with the other.
Nadia simply looked at them disappear before she got back to her sofa as if claiming the place, chilling out again as she yawned and closed her eyes.
She wasn't worried about his severed arm at all since she knew what her master was capable of! Back in the Moonlight Mountain, he had healed a King-Tier Twin-Tailed Dusk Wolf back to health! If he could do that, then she knew that there was no need to fret over it.
However, she was still worried as she knew that Davis was still in pain.
"Sophie..." Her eyes narrowed as she uttered.
What was her master trying to do?
In Davis's room, a pleading voice echoed.
"Please be seated..."
Davis sat as he told after she let go of his hand. She then brought a vial that seemed to possess a blue viscous paste before she began to apply it on his severed surface after asking for his permission.
"Tch..." Davis's eyes narrowed as an extremely sharp pain seared on the place being treated, but it cooled almost instantly, easing the pain.
"Please endure..." Sophie Alstreim warned and continued to give first aid.
After a while, she finished applying the pasted many times over to form three layers before she sighed and slumped her b.u.t.t in exhaustion on the bed Davis sat.
She took a deep breath before she looked at Davis's face.
"Does Alchemist Davis possess a regenerative healing pill that can restore the entirety or even half the arm?"
Davis shook his head, "I don't..."
"I see..." Sophie Alstreim bit her lips, "Then we can only wait till we return. We can't use mine since the regenerative healing pill I only have is of the Peak-Level Sky Grade, a pill only capable of restoring a limb or two of Low-Level Martial Ascendance Stage Cultivators. However, we could try..."
Sophie Alstreim worriedly took out a crimson pill that radiated sixth stage undulations.
"It's alright... Don't fret over it..." Davis smiled as he shook his head.
"Alchemist Davis means the Dragon Queen?" Sophie Alstreim wasn't disheartened, "I guess the Dragon Queen would indeed possess such healing pills with a comparatively higher grade..."
"But... I think that even if the Dragon Queen moved to heal your left arm, it would be difficult to regain your cultivation in your regenerated left arm as it would not be tempered but in its normal recovered state. The medicinal energy in that kind of pill... would only allow your left arm to recover to the Silver Stage at best."
Davis nodded his head as he stared at her. He knew these points, so he knew that she was not exaggerating it.
Silence suddenly reigned in the room with neither one of them talking. However, Davis didn't take his eyes off of her, and neither did Sophie Alstreim.
He could see her moist purple eyes possess worry for him, and her nose was slightly becoming pinkish as if she was going to cry.
"Is it not painful?"
"It is..." Davis uttered in a low voice.
Sophie Alstreim's lips trembled as she watched his calm expression. Tears fell from her eyes. She couldn't understand why she was crying for his sake when he didn't even appear to care for this heavy loss.
Losing an arm wasn't something to be calm about... Many techniques required both arms to circulate energy before they could unleash it, and if the other arm was not in form but in low cultivation, then it would be essentially impossible to cast techniques even if the arm was present.
Losing an arm meant losing a battle against an opponent of a similar stage and level. It was a huge disadvantage and even shameful in the cultivation world that could make a man insane. Almost no man would be able to endure for at least the moment and a few days, and yet he remained indifferent as if he had never lost his arm.
Was he keeping his appearance in front of her? That is what she thought before his she had her tears wiped away by his index finger.
"What are you crying for? It was me who was injured..."
Sophie Alstreim's lips parted, but no voice came out of her mouth. Instead, she looked at his sapphire eyes that seemed to have a positive smile, as if looking forward to the future even though his left shoulder was in this shape.
The narrow s.p.a.ce and the bed were both catalysts for intimacy.
In this kind of atmosphere, her suppressed feelings could no longer be bottled up. It was as if something was attracting her as Sophie Alstreim's face moved closer to him as she planted a soft kiss on his lips, her eyelids quivering in shock at her own actions.
There! She did it again!
She pulled herself back and cast a look of disbelief at Davis's calm face before she turned her head away, only to mumble these words out.
"I'm sorry..."
"..."
Silence reigned again in the room, making it one of awkwardness. However, Davis didn't feel any kind of awkwardness. He could only feel innocence and hope in that kiss, just like the last time.
His lips curved into a smile.
"So... the time at the lightning sea was not something because of happenstance..." Davis finally spoke, expressing his thoughts on that matter.
He had seen men taking advantage of women when they were close, and he had also heard of women taking advantage of men in various s.e.xual ways, but this was the first time he experienced one, a woman innocently taking advantage of him, a man.
It was similar yet different from Natalya, who completely jumped on him. It could be said that if Sophie Alstreim didn't misunderstand that she was going to die, she wouldn't have made a move on him.
Now that she kissed again while knowing that she possessed no chance with him, had she fallen in love so much that she could no longer extricate herself from him anymore?
This was what Davis wanted to know, and it could be said that he obtained his answer with her second kiss. Her two kisses were completely innocent that he couldn't muster any l.u.s.tful thoughts towards her, but it did cause him to like her even more.
He couldn't help but abruptly stand as he felt stifled at the situation he allowed himself to find in!
"I understand..."
Sophie Alstreim became startled as she heard his angered voice, but she didn't raise her head, knowing that she had done something remarkably selfish. Even now, it wasn't about taking care of Davis, but she wanted to relay her feelings to him.
"I know that you like me, and I have once rejected you. Is that why you won't express your feelings in words anymore?"
Sophie Alstreim's eyes widened as the blush on her face became more apparent. She instantly raised her face, "No... I-"
"I am not finished..." Davis interrupted as he pulled her wrist up, making her stand while her other hand fell on his chest.
She looked at him in shock, wondering what was going on as he felt the warmth through her palm. Her heartbeat that was already erratic began to speed up as if she were racing with all her strength, making her heart flutter while her eyelids quivered.
"Sophie, you're like a flower, and I'm like a thorn. If you're with me, there's no telling when you might lose your life."
Davis slowly let go of her hand under her bewildered gaze.
"You don't need to say anything. If you are unwilling, just slap me hard so I can forget that this ever happened between us."
Sophie Alstreim became stunned! But the next moment, she felt her thin waist be wrapped by his right hand before face moved towards her, his lips just inches away from hers.
Davis waited for a moment and saw that she didn't resist. He looked at her glistening amethyst purple eyes and leaned in, his lips pressing against hers with love. He kissed her, witnessing her pupils tremble before her eyes closed in satisfaction.
This time, it wasn't a simple peck as he kissed her properly, grabbing her lips with his own as he relished her taste.
Sophie Alstreim experienced what it was like to be cherished with their lips squeezed together. It was similar to how she kissed, gentle, and warm. She could feel his emotions over her thin lips, making her melt in his embrace. A tear fell from her eyes, but it was the tear of joy.
A moment later, they both separated, their eyes staring at each other in tenderness.
Sophie Alstreim's purple eyes shook as her lips trembled, "I was afraid... afraid that you'd reject me again..."
"Is that right?" Davis wryly smiled, "I was afraid that I'd ruin your life..."
"Ruin...?"
"Sophie, you're a kind and genuine woman I like and admire from the bottom of my heart. I already have a few women who had sworn their love and loyalty to me, and I love them back to death. However, on the other hand, you do not belong to anyone and can choose whoever you want of your own free will."
Davis narrowed his eyes, "In the lightning sea, if you hadn't kissed me, I wouldn't be considering all of this, but since you did, I want to make you mine. This is who I am, a petty person."
"Now..." Davis's serious expression was replaced with a smile, "Give me your answer."
