Chapter 3759 The Task Force?
By this time, Davis knew the task force should've made it there with the flying boat they'd been given.
Immortal Emperor Grade Flying Boats can travel a million kilometers per second if their propellers are used. However, the energy consumption was just as huge, if not ridiculous, as it was proportional to the spatial density of the third layer and the ma.s.s of the flying boat.
Still, they didn't travel at that speed so that they don't alert anyone since traveling at that speed would practically scream that someone powerful is flying around as the wind and spatial waves it would unleash would be detected by the others.
Therefore, they traveled at the safe limit of two hundred thousand kilometers per second and made it to the human settlement in half an hour.
"Woah, that's supposed to be a settlement?"
Looking at the giant walls that were over a kilometer tall, Panqa blinked as she gawked, her lips parting wide.
"Don't be ridiculous, Panqa." Lanqua berated with a solemn expression, "This is the true immortal world, and this settlement is right near a danger zone. Of course, it would be heavily protected in case of a magical beast tide. In other words, this place would be the first line of defense, so stay careful and don't let up our ident.i.ties."
"Hii~"
Panqa quickly hid her tail inside her pants.
"You don't have to go that far, as it would just make us more suspicious."
Lanqua frowned before she turned to look at a black-robed woman who was picking her nose, appearing disinterested.
"Zanqua, act with dignity even with your avatar, and you better repay the benevolence husband has bestowed on you."
"I knoooow~ You don't have to throw it in my face every single time, big sister Lanqua~"
Zanqua cackled ever so lightly as she sarcastically addressed her triplet sister, who was overly in control of her actions.
She was also an avatar as her sisters begged Davis to impart the Solitary Soul Avatar Technique to her, and he acquiesced and even healed her soul as though it was nothing. She looked away, not liking it, not liking that she had to be indebted to someone.
However, she decided to be faithful to her sisters, so she was here.
On the other side, a purple-robed woman was masked. She patted a little ice phoenix on her shoulder, which then flew towards her sleeves and hid inside while concealing all of its undulations.
"Stay hidden, Xiaolan. Don't get out unless I need you to appear."
"Understood, Clara. As Ellia's mount, I promise to protect you even if I have to give up my life."
Xiaolan flapped her little wings inside Clara's arm sleeves, letting the latter know she was rather excited to venture out.
Clara smiled ever so lightly before she looked at the tall walls and glanced at the members. Her eyes fell on the triplets. Although they seemed quite nervous, their hearts were excited at a chance to prove themselves.
As for the other woman on board, she didn't know what to think of her as she was from the wicked path.
"Yilla Zyrus, I have yet to acknowledge that you're my brother's wife."
She openly said before glancing back at the wall, "So prove you're worthy of our loyalty here."
""
Yilla didn't reply but wryly smiled.
What can she prove here when it's unknown if Evelynn and the others were even here?
However, she knew that this little sister's acknowledgment was important as Davis seemed to care about her opinions very much. However, the strangest thing was she was a Heaven's Warrior who had turned rogue.
She didn't know how it would affect their brother-sister relations.h.i.+p as anyone with common sense would figure out that one of these two would die stabbing each other. Only it appeared that big sister Evelynn had put a stop to that situation, although it was unknown if it was temporary.
Nonetheless, she knew having a Heaven's Warrior with them was more useful than having Divergents around.
After all, they were to avoid being found out that they were related to Divergents, and what was a better idea than mingling with a Heaven's Warrior?
It wasn't to say Heaven's Warrior was more powerful than Divergents.
In fact, Divergents should be very careful of Heaven's Warriors. Their individual prowess made them a threat to most Divergents. However, their frightening nature didn't lie there because it lay in the fact that they could intrude on Divergent's heavenly tribulation and attack the Divergent along with the heavens.
That's where their fearsomeness lay.
If Zenova Artoria didn't kidnap Davis, he would've probably fallen to the three Heaven's Warriors who confronted him in his heavenly tribulation.
Yilla knew far too well what would happen if a Heaven's Warrior found them.
Even if they could kill the Heaven's Warrior, it would be near impossible for them to escape all of them. Hence, their group was made up of non-Divergents and a Heaven's Warrior.
Clara nodded to Yilla's silence, taking that as an acceptance of her challenge.
There were no Divergents in their group. Even if they got into trouble, no one would know of them or recognize them, making it specialized for infiltration.
Or rather would anyone dare make trouble for a Heaven's Warrior?
Once they were before the gates, Clara opened her eyes wide.
"Open!"
A single word, filled with the immensity of heaven and earth and the mysterious power of Mandate Laws, shook the air and even made the s.p.a.ce tremble ever so lightly.
The next few seconds were silent before the gates began actually opening.
"My Lord! Forgive the delay, my Lord!~ Let me welcome you to the Highnode Town."
While the gates were open halfway, a Mid Stage Immortal Emperor came out flying and stopped in mid-air, clasping his hands firmly before he bowed ninety degrees all the way.
""
Watching this scene, Yilla and the others blinked.
Wasn't this surreal? They didn't know who they were, yet a person who appeared to be some kind of authority, clothed in luxurious battle armor, came to welcome them inside and even apologize?
Yilla stared at Clara's back.
She may be Davis's little sister, whom everyone thought was a target of protection, but once she was out in the world, it didn't take much for them to realize she was a heaven-bestowed ruler through and through.
