Chapter 3469 To Get What Was Left Behind
Clara tried to get out of bed, but Davis pushed her back.
"At least rest for a day. Then you can do whatever you want."
He said as he threw a bedsheet on her and tucked her to sleep, although Clara still had her eyes open, not knowing what to say to all the care she received as the others also recommended her to take rest.
"Fine"
Eventually, she gave up and closed her eyes.
Her soul was still aching anyway.
She heard that it could not be healed fast or through life energy, or the hex might break since it was not part of her soul. It was a hex, so as long as she went to Evelynn to reinforce the hex like she was doing maintenance, then the heavens could forget about influencing her.
She had taken a pill, so she could only rely on her soul to recover to its upper limit and let it stay that way.
Rather than a permanent solution, it seemed like a temporary one, but it was more than enough for her to do what she wanted. However, it was indeed a permanent solution as she must make that hex her own through a method called karmic overtake, which Tia explained, but she couldn't understand anything.
'I still have a long way to go'
Clara could hear them speak before all fell silent. She went to sleep without even knowing it. That was how exhausted she was.
"Good girl~"
Evelynn muttered under her breath as she caressed Clara's face lightly before gesturing everyone to leave.
Davis gave a good look at his little sister's sleeping face. Just watching it made him feel like all the burden he felt over her situation disappeared like it melted away. Walking out, he turned to look at his first wife, not knowing how he could thank her to the fullest extent.
"Evelynn, it's time." He suddenly uttered.
"I see." Evelynn's expression turned difficult, "I would hate to leave my children at this point, so can I delay it?"
Davis shook his head, "I don't know. I've already delayed it for quite a while. I don't know if she would wait any longer."
"Do you trust her?"
"No. This is a transaction."
"I see." Evelynn pursed her lips, appearing to turn contemplative.
"Big sister, just let me milk you. I or any one of our sisters will be willing to feed them your milk in your stead." Abruptly, Mingzhi appeared.
She held an ice cream in her grasp, taking a provocative lick after she spoke.
It caused Evelynn's cheeks to redden as she remembered Mingzhi coming to collect her milk when she had begun lactating. Mingzhi had a devious grin at that time, and it was now the same. It seemed like bullying her sisters was extremely enjoyable to her.
Meanwhile, Davis looked at that ice cream with some suspicion when he suddenly saw Mingzhi wink at him.
It seemed like he had to be careful about which ice cream he was going to eat in the future.
Evelynn pouted, "Fine. Isabella, can I leave it to you to feed Azariel and Viridia?"
"Well," Isabella pursed her lips, "I'm getting busier by the day since I would have to look after Mira and Celestia, but if you want me to do it no matter what, I'll do it. No, I'll be glad to do it."
"That's alright. You also need to focus on the cultivation that you've been putting aside for me, for all of us this long."
Evelynn and Isabella looked at each other, their eyes conveying their trust. Isabella always made time to check on her so she wouldn't forget that.
"I'll see if Niera- ah, I guess she's almost due, which leaves Shea or..."
Evelynn turned to look at her sisters, wondering which one of them was free yet willing to use their time to help her.
"I'll be more than happy to take care of master's children." Everlight stood forward, "I have some experience in taking care of children for a bit of time since I was one of the Guardians in the Magical Beast Sanctuary and had fey babies to take care of in my clan."
"Oh, that's great. Then I'll depend on you, Everlight."
Evelynn nodded.
Undoubtedly, Everlight had the greatest trust among them because she held all their soul essences. If they could host their souls, then giving their own children to her wouldn't be a problem.
"Uhmm what are you all talking about?" Panqa raised her hand in confusion.
"They're going to return to the Grand Beginnings Continent," Mingzhi said.
"What? How!?"
Panqa was shocked, and even Lanqua appeared a bit surprised. They were denizens of the First Haven World, so they felt anxious when they heard he was going to return.
This wasn't in the plan, right?
Davis raised his hand and caressed his Panqa's cheek softly, "I need to bring mother and the others back, and Evelynn needs to obtain the soul essence of her Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Inheritance. That's why we're leaving, but we'll soon come back within a week or two."
"I see."
Panqa's expression turned into one of relief.
She wasn't afraid that she would be abandoned after what had happened between them, but she couldn't digest being separated for so long. It had just been a day, but she was already longing for his touch.
"So this means you found a way back?" Myria raised her brows.
She knew he would find it eventually since the Grand Beginnings Continent was just in the center of the First Haven World but just sealed by a barrier. With so much happening, like Accursed Warlock interfering with the barrier and weakening it as a result, she imagined it wouldn't be impossible to find a method to enter.
"I didn't. Fairy Thunderblaze claims she did." Davis sighed.
It caused everyone to raise their brows, including Myria, while Evelynn seemed to already know about it.
"She wouldn't tell where or how." Evelynn spoke, her gaze falling on Myria, "I heard a few of you got somewhat close to her. What is her character like?"
"We're not sure. She seems quite mysterious, headstrong, but most importantly, dangerous to keep by one's side as she's cunning." Bylai parted her crimson lips and answered, "If it weren't for Davis, she might've done something against us as she gives me a bad feeling."
"True." Myria nodded but shook her head, "But I don't think so."
"Oh? What makes you say that?"
Davis asked Myria.
"Well, she's living the life of how I chose to become before you, so you'll know soon enough."
""
Davis blinked. With that kind of reply, Myria might not have said as much. Nonetheless, he nodded and turned to look at Evelynn.
"Get ready. I'll go see what she has up her sleeve."
"Understood."
Davis smiled lightly before he turned to look at Everlight.
"Meanwhile, it would be good if Mingzhi could prepare a wedding ceremony for Everlight here."
""
Everlight turned stunned before she lowered her head and smiled. Her heart clenched, knowing it was finally time for her to get wed soon.
"Look at my face and say it."
However, Mingzhi marched before Davis and glared at him. However, Davis acted like he didn't see her and looked above.
"Ah, Mingzhi's so busy, but I wish she would hear my thoughts and do it for me."
"Hehe~"
A few of them giggled, causing Mingzhi to tremble.
"Ah, you hateful rogue!"
Mingzhi kicked his leg before taking a lick of the ice cream and pointing at his face. "I'll do it for you, but you better send more affection towards me than anyone else here!"
"That would be problematic, no?"
s.h.i.+rley jumped in from nowhere and wrapped her arm around Mingzhi from behind.
Mingzhi simply harrumphed, remaining tenacious. It caused the others to giggle before s.h.i.+rley unwound her arm and appeared solemn, turning to look at their expressions, which made her smile because she understood that her dear Clara was safe.
She informed them that she had just learned a Divine Technique and couldn't extricate herself from seclusion, but the others didn't mind and even cheered for her.
Nonetheless, she quickly heard what was going on and glanced at Davis, her expression turning worried.
"If you can, please bring back my father as well, and please return safely~"
"My father too." Isabella made a request.
"My father and mother as well~" Fiora piped in.
It made Davis blink.
They were naturally talking about Louis Ashton, Mark Ruth, Igor Stirlander, and Rosalia Stirlander. Heck, even he thought about bringing back Ancestor Dian Alstreim and Ancestor Tirea Snow. He missed that old yet young-looking couple as he thought of them like they were his grandparents.
"I won't promise, but I will try to bring them back. After all, Fairy Thunderblaze said the path she found only allows three people to enter."
Davis nodded at s.h.i.+rley and the others before he consoled them.
He understood their family was also important, just like how important his mother and father were. On the other hand, he told them that it would be better if they stayed in the Grand Beginnings Continent since they would be leaving for the true immortal world soon, and he couldn't take them all with him, which made them feel saddened by it.
Nonetheless, he said he would try his best since he intended to bring back his family through that path or simply have his mother ascend along with someone since she was pregnant.
He consoled them for a while before stepping out and heading towards the Blazing Thunderlight Sect, where he had been once imprisoned.
There has been a bit of trouble in rl. I wasn't able to write 5 chaps and only did 3.5 chaps, so posting 2 chaps now and see if I could make it today or tomorrow.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
