Chapter 3427 Kidnapping A Bandit?
Davis descended before Zanqua and her Cleaving Wolf Gang, stepping on the rocky platform with a single foot while the other still hovered.
Zanqua's hand instantly went to the broadsword on her back. She had just realized who he was and shouted, but by the time her hand reached the broadsword, it was actually no longer there.
She ended up grasping empty air before she turned around to look, appearing shocked at the purple-robed man who held her broadsword while appearing to appraise it.
Paleen and the other bandits had just been swooning over a handsome man visiting their humble bandit abode, but hearing their boss's yell, their hearts leaped, and they froze over, not daring to turn or move.
The infamy of the Emperor of Death was well known. Even if people didn't recognize his face, his deeds were spread far and wide.
"It's a good Peak-Level Immortal King Grade Broadsword. This kind of armament is difficult to find compared to a Low-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Broadsword, considering its power to cleave one. No wonder your attacks had been that deadly in addition to your prowess that was a level higher."
Davis kept nodding his head at that broadsword before throwing it back to her.
Zanqua reached out her hand and caught it. Its weight was such that it had the ground made from Immortal King Grade sediments quivered a bit, causing her to blink, unable to believe he lifted and threw it like he was playing with a dagger.
When her gaze returned to him, she saw that he already moved past the rubble and went inside with his hands behind his back.
He didn't say anything, but his intentions were rather clear to her.
"Remain outside."
She inwardly sighed and instructed her gang before following him.
They made it all the way to her throne chamber, where he sat and made himself comfortable as though he owned the place.
Indeed, Davis smiled with delight, thinking the cus.h.i.+on on the throne was not bad before he finally gazed at her.
"Nice place you got here."
"What do you want?" Zanqua's words were somber.
From his previous words, she already understood he had been the mysterious person who knocked out everyone and made a fool of her before. Now that she thought about the matter of someone fearless enough to offend the Emperor of Death, it all made sense.
She cursed herself to not see through something so simple.
"I don't want anything, but I think you already know what I came here for."
Zanqua's gaze flickered, "Tell them I have nothing to do with them."
Davis blinked, "That excuse might've worked if I actually didn't test you before, and even then- it's difficult to hide emotions from me."
He shook his head, standing up as he appeared beside her, reaching out his hand towards her face.
"!"
Zanqua's pupils dilated. Her hand that was on her broadsword flickered, striking Davis in a split second.
However, the sound of a nick came as she saw him stop it barehand as he caught it with his thumb and index finger. The resulting force caused one of the pillars in the throne room to shatter, but it didn't collapse.
"You're not the type to listen, are you?"
"If you think I'm the same as my tame sisters, then you're extremely wrong. So what if you're the Emperor of Death or their husband? Did you think I would not claim your grand head?"
"Ahaha."
Davis couldn't help but laugh, "A smart person would've run away at the first sight of me. The fact that you're still here and say such things could only mean you want to insult me into leaving you alone or killing you."
He let go of the broadsword, causing her to drop it as the web of her fingers bled. Her hand trembled from the backlash of it being suddenly stopped.
"Well, I'm not here to kill you, but if you attacked me again, that lovely broadsword of yours wouldn't survive."
Davis spread his hands, his brows raising.
"Even a while ago, you were battling recklessly, spending extreme amounts of energy with each attack. In order to arrive here, it made me wonder how much potential you sacrificed and how much blood essence you used up. With you dozing off every now and then, it is clear to me that you have no more than sixty percent blood essence left. If you continue to live this kind of lifestyle and battle style, then you will probably turn old in a hundred thousand years and won't live any more than a few million years. Compared to an Immortal Emperor's lifespan that lasts hundreds of millions of years, I must say that it is a pity."
Matters of blood essence were not exactly percentage-wise. It was kind of logarithmic. Ten percent would be a puddle compared to twenty percent.
Likewise, sixty percent was only a puddle compared to ninety percent. That's why when people sacrifice even the slightest bit of blood essence, they sacrifice their potential and lifespan, and when they do it in greater amounts, the consequences amount to cutting off their future path and turning old sooner or later than the norm.
Davis didn't have this problem since he could restore blood essence. Besides, people with ten or twenty percent blood essence were basically shriveled corpses. They were no different than old monsters who willingly prolong their lives for their powers in order to protect them through one or two attacks that could change the tide before they die.
Right now, he could tell Zanqua was on that path, and the mystery of how she could be so powerful compared to her triplet sisters was answered.
Zanqua remained nonreactive to his words.
However, her silence only made Davis sure of his speculation. She sacrificed her potential to get here, so Mid Stage Immortal Emperor would probably be her max, or if she had heavenly resources, she could go higher, but for a bandit like her, he doubted if she created a Heaven Immortal Vessel.
Without that, the path to the Empyrean Stage was not possible. From what he saw, she only had an Earth Immortal Vessel.
"In any case, I'm not here to ask for your opinion or consent. My two wives want to see you, and they will regardless of your consent."
Zanqua raised her broadsword again, her right arm's muscles swelling, "You're not taking me anywhere."
Davis raised his brows at her swollen muscles, "I noticed that too. That's not your innate fey blood, is it? Another kind of blood? Oh well, don't bother to be adamant. I hope I won't have to drag you there, as Panqa and Lanqua would like you to be treated with care. I know you want to see them too badly."
Zanqua's expression sank as her eyes shook, "b.a.s.t.a.r.d, die!"
She waved her sword but felt abruptly constricted as an enormous amount of soul pressure descended on her, leaving her kneeling and gasping for breath.
Davis scratched his head at this uncooperative wolf fey.
It would be quite easy for him to forcefully take her away, and it wasn't like him to make empty threats when he said he would break her broadsword if she attacked again, but she was still Panqa and Lanqua's third sister. She was fearless, not afraid to die, and because she didn't want to see her sisters for her bandit past, she would rather die.
Davis met some people who considered their values more than their lives, so he wasn't surprised to see this woman holding onto that last thread of hope that she would never have to face her sisters for what she did, like killing and plundering villages, kidnapping children for ransom as it was quite easy for women to infiltrate almost any walks in life.
As much as they were seen as the fairer s.e.x and appear weaker, they were not that different when it came to causing damage.
Many would let their guard down against them, which made this female bandit group much more powerful and dangerous. Hence, this female bandit group was given protection by the Northern Sphere Bandit purely because it acted as a steady crystal cow for him and a wonderful paradise for his entire bandit alliance, although the male bandits themselves preferred unwilling over willing because that soothed their ego and wicked hearts.
Nonetheless, he didn't want Panqa and Lanqua to feel like they had troubled him as they rarely asked him of anything, causing him to inwardly sigh and lean over a bit to her.
"You see you think I'm not a bandit?"
"" Zanqua glared at him, remaining silent as she appeared to be p.i.s.sed over, unable to do anything.
But Davis continued, "Although our methods and targets are quite different, we walk the same path. My wives sometimes call me Bandit Emperor. Such a plain t.i.tle, but it makes me happy."
He said with some pride, but Zanqua still glared at him.
"Oh, you don't believe me?" He narrowed his brows before standing straight and spreading his hands.
"Alright, let's compare. I have plundered trillions of High-Level Immortal Grade Crystals. How much did you plunder to be named Cleaving Wolf Empress? Don't you think you're too arrogant?"
""
Zanqua's expression sank.
Trillions? Is this man bragging by faking it?
There was no way he could've plundered trillions even if he plundered the Dragon and Phoenix Alliance! If they had that many resources, then they would be popping out Late Stage Immortal Emperor cultivators like children!
Davis saw that she was p.i.s.sed beyond compare and lifted off the soul suppression.
"You-! Have you no shame to be lying about wealth!? You call yourself a bandit!?"
Zanqua stood up as she roared, causing Davis to raise his hands in surrender and back off. However, he was filled with smiles as he was finally able to garner an emotional reaction from her, which meant she wasn't entirely senseless.
"You pride yourself on being a bandit, huh? That's fine."
Davis smirked, "Since I gave you enough time to consider, I'll do this as a bandit, plunder your freedom."
"..!"
Zanqua shot back as she saw his strange smile and turned around, intending to crash through the walls to escape.
