Chapter 3237 An Infallible Wall?
"Just who are you?"
At this point, Davis was wondering if he should use chaos and destruction together as he already had many insights into Destruction Laws after absorbing pill essence from the Celestial Luminescence Pill. However, he decided against it as he would probably self-destruct for the most part, leaving him with no choice but to think of other attacks that could possibly work against the mysterious black-robed woman.
""
However, he reconsidered, asking himself why he needed to attack her when she was not returning the favor in all fairness.
That was the foremost reason he still hadn't unleashed Fallen Heaven right now.
Still, he wanted to know whether this mysterious black-robed woman was truly powerful or was just a bit more powerful than them and used some unknown Law to fool all of them, as even Myria seemed to have no idea of what she used to defend- no, seep through all his attacks.
He thought of having Calypsea attack, but even she was stiff and poised currently, appearing to be a bit scared, making him decide to trust her exceptional instincts and infer from her that the mysterious black-robed woman in front of them should be truly powerful.
Left with no choice, Davis sighed heavily, his foot moving forward.
"Fine, if you aren't going to return an attack, I'll just-"
Davis's figure flickered, instantly appearing beside the mysterious woman's side.
"-walk past you."
He appeared uncaring, defenseless as he crossed her, walking away from her, but before he could even cross a meter, he suddenly felt himself afloat before an irresistible force acted on him.
Just as Davis wanted to use Fallen Heaven, he suddenly found himself beside Myria again, barely stopping himself from acting.
His lips parted, but he was unable to utter a word as he was still stunned, not understanding if what he saw before was an illusion or some sort of mysterious Law that threw him back to the place he stood a few seconds ago, his hands stretched as though he was going to create the reincarnation wheel. Even the energy in his meridian pathways was flowing like he was indeed going to create the reincarnation wheel, causing his heart to go through a tumultuous tremor.
'Did did she just reverse time for me?'
Davis's pupils were dilated, his eyes severely quivering. He felt like he had looked a few seconds into the future even though he felt like he was thrown back into the past, making his perception highly befuddled, and he couldn't tell if he was alive or dead for the moment.
""
Myria's gaze also shook as she recognized the Law, although her mind was screaming that this was impossible as time couldn't be reversed that easily. Even to revive someone, time couldn't be reversed, and even if time was reversed to save someone, it would invite a powerful heavenly tribulation and an extreme amount of karmic burden to the user.
Even this could only be achieved with the fusion of s.p.a.ce Laws and Time Laws, s.p.a.cetime Laws, and definitely was not achievable with Time Laws alone. After all, Time Laws were an integral part of s.p.a.ce Laws.
However, this woman before her- Myria recognized she used Time Laws alone to reverse time for Davis, bringing him back to their side, even leaving him in a state where he was gathering reincarnation energy to attack her.
"Apologies, I can't let you walk past me. My circ.u.mstances are special and require me to keep my mouth shut, but this is nothing more than a stopgap measure, so please don't."
The mysterious black-robed woman spoke in an imploring tone again, her voice sounding even more desperate.
"!"
Davis bit his tongue so hard, wanting to get rid of that strange influence from her. If this was an illusion, he wanted out! If this was his end, then he wanted it to end! However, why was this woman pleading with him instead of putting him in his place if she had so much power!?
He increasingly kept shaking from rage and confusion. No matter what decision he took in this realm, he always presumed he was on the precipice of life and death because he was dealing with heavenly geniuses who were rulers of their realm, capable of moving heaven and earth.
He had been so careful and even restrained himself from killing wicked individuals so that nothing could go wrong in this adventure, especially with his family here, so why was there now such a force to reckon with in front of him instead of attacking him, it was pleading with him to leave?
He couldn't understand. He didn't understand. Or did he not want to understand?
Suddenly, his shuddering stopped, and he looked at the mysterious black-robed woman with a scrutinizing gaze.
She did not attack him, did not turn him into ashes, did not force him to leave, but didn't let him walk past her.
What was this? Was he supposed to treat this as a humorous event where an infallible wall always bounced him back in a harmless way?
He folded his hands, still staring at her as he went into a state of contemplation.
If he thought of it properly, why was there a need to use Time Laws to bring him back a few seconds ago and not just push him back if she merely wanted to not let him pa.s.s?
'It couldn't be that this mysterious black-robed woman simply couldn't interact with her surroundings, right?'
Davis felt that it was highly unlikely as if she wasn't here, then she couldn't make changes in this s.p.a.ce, but if she was here, then his attacks would've been at least able to make her robes sway, but since he couldn't even make contact, then that meant she was using s.p.a.ce energy as well, but there were no spatial undulations, leaving him doubtful.
Unable to make heads or tails, he finally opened his mouth.
"Are you using Time Laws to reverse time, which I heard was imposs-"
"!"
The mysterious black-robed woman violently shuddered as a sound of gla.s.s breaking could be heard, but it was m.u.f.fled by a thunderous sound from the skies, a sound all too familiar to Davis as he saw the world turning crimson as dark crimson clouds began to gather above him.
"Perceptive as always but I never expected my time to end so soon"
She uttered, her voice sounding wry, causing Davis to look at her with narrowed eyes, recognizing that she was also an Anarchic Divergent. However, what triggered her tribulation?
His words?
'It can't be' He thought as he hadn't even asked the most ridiculous thing he came up with. Nonetheless, he wanted more answers.
"Before you face your tribulation, why are you-"
"Davis, no!"
Myria hurriedly appeared before him as she shut his mouth with her palm and fell to the side.
*BZZZZZ!~*
A terrifying aura submerged them all, causing every single one of them to kneel right at the point they stood, some even p.i.s.sing their pants in fright while some fainted. At the same time, a flash of dichromatic black-white light filled the world, even managing to take away the sound from the world around them that they couldn't hear anymore.
From the corner of his eyes, Davis managed to see the world split apart by the same light from the center, like the s.p.a.ce between was pierced through by a black-white lightning bolt shooting down.
Davis tried to sit up, but Myria strongly held him, her eyes visibly scared as she protected him as though a mother would with her own body.
"Myria, you-"
"That's not a tribulation that's divine punishment"
He moved his mouth, but no sound managed to escape his throat, although Myria instantly sent him a soul transmission, causing him to shudder.
A divine punishment instead of a tribulation? Could it be back then, when he first broke the limits placed on Law Comprehension, that was a divine punishment?
'No-' He inwardly shook his head, knowing that this was even more deadly, which could only mean the mysterious black-robed woman in front of him broke an almost absolute limitation placed upon the universe.
*Vsss~*
Eventually, the black and white world faded, and the sound of breeze could be heard ever so lightly, causing him to instantly sit up, his sapphire eyes reflecting the scene before him.
