Chapter 2424 Exposed?
Distant mountains stood like tall pillars. Between the pillars was a giant palace stretching tall and wide. The entrance to the palace was sealed, and the region itself was serene and peaceful. Magical beasts like swans, ducks, rabbits, fishes, and other vibrant yet weak magical beasts were out on the fields or the lake, playing without a worry in the world.
But inside the palace, a giant nine-kilometer tall tree shuddered. It was purplish in color and appeared similar to the Void Dust Tree.
Quickly, a figure rushed out of that tree and climbed the floors with each step treading the stairs. Arriving at the topmost floor, the curvaceous figure bent her knees before a giant gate and knelt.
"Master, Wix Voidfield has something urgent to report."
Her charming voice resounded with reverence and urgency. But despite the urge, Wix Voidfield didn't say another word until the voice came from the other side.
"Go on." resounded a clear female voice.
"This" Wix Voidfield realized that she hadn't been given permission to enter but quickly came out of her reverie.
"I've spotted an individual who's likely to be Davis Alstreim and also managed to discover that this individual is truly an Anarchic Divergent. Moreover, he somehow managed to enter the First Haven World without becoming an immortal, so it's entirely possible he arrived with some other being and managed to fool the eyes of the world. Right now-"
"-he's undergoing an Annihilative Immortal Tribulation?" continued the same glaze-less voice with a question, but her voice still sounded unmoved.
It didn't seem that it was a huge factor for her.
"Yes"
Wix Voidfield nodded, pursing her lips as she waited for her master to continue.
"I can vaguely sense it from this distance. If the rumors are true, I doubt that he would be able to survive with an incredible karmic burden plaguing him."
"Master is not going to interv- ah~ forgive me. I have overstepped my bounds."
"It is not our turn to act yet, Wix. Instead, one of my disciples would be more than willing to deal with such an oddity, and it just happens that disciple is itching to meet that young lad."
"" Wix Voidfield's expression was blank, "In that case, I'm also a.s.sured because my child has probably been dragged into the Anarchic Divergent's precarious fate."
"Don't worry. Nothing will happen."
A serene voice of indifference resounded again, but there was some a.s.surance in those words, causing Wix Voidfield to nod her head as though it was gospel and eventually take her leave. Her perception then spread to the other end, where she could see Davis receive the second strike.
*Booom!~*
Death energy gathered at the tip of the heavenly lightning spear as Davis threw it against the blackish-red lightning dragon. Combined with the incredible strength of his body, the resulting clash resulted in a booming explosion that sent Davis retreating a meter downwards before he stepped up and restored his position again.
Life energy soared from his forehead and engulfed the remnant strands of the annihilative lightning floating in the air. It was brought towards him, simultaneously being pampered into suppressing their aggressive nature and condensing them into an obedient wisp of heavenly lightning.
Both of Davis's hands were busy as one began to surge with a heavenly lightning spear while the other took care of the captured lightning strands.
Gazing at the blackish-red strands of lightning gathering at the center, preparing to strike him, he couldn't help but narrow his brows.
'It's already at the peak of Level Two Immortal Stage?'
Davis felt vexed.
The third strike was already this powerful, appearing to be as terrifying as Nadia's eighteenth strike. Perhaps, it would be the last time he would be able to refine the remnant strands of heavenly lightning as the next strike would be way over his power level.
But most of all, his odds of survival didn't seem to be in his favor if it went on like this, but he knew he couldn't lose hope.
There were only nine strikes, and two of them had already been crossed. However, his energy level in the three cultivation systems was still above ninety percent. He felt that as long as he was careful and used the best method of energy expenditure, nothing could go wrong, at least, until the last strike, which seemed downright despair-inducing according to his experience with heavenly tribulations.
*Rumble!~~~*
The dark clouds roared at him, sending down their attack with incomparable fury.
Without delay, Davis also unleashed the heavenly spear. Death energy gathered at its tip, exploding upon contact.
*Boom!~*
The blackish-red heavenly lightning dragon felt its jaws disintegrate before the piercing power of the heavenly lightning spear shot through it, completely causing it to break down into many strands.
Davis quickly acted to secure the remnant strands again, waiting for the fourth strike to descend.
*Bzzz!~* *Bz!~*
The annihilative heavenly lightning gathered, surging with overwhelming might. However, Davis became astonished.
'Oh, it's still within Level Two Immortal Stage, at the apex of it?'
He blinked in wonder, guessing if he underestimated the gap existing within the Immortal Levels, but he could tell for a fact that this strike was stronger than Nadia's eighteenth strike. After all, it was not a Destructive Immortal Tribulation but an Annilihative Immortal Tribulation that was intent on completely eradicating the existence of the tribulation-taker.
However, this didn't change the fact that he was still going to have it hard at the end, just not as despairing as he imagined.
Pitch-black energy soared around him as they gathered before the materializing heavenly spear. The beautiful faces of his wives flashed past his eyes before he smirked and launched the death-pointed heavenly spear again.
*Rumble!~*
*Bang!~*
There was almost no interval between their attacks.
His heavenly spear was broken, and the annihilative lightning dragon rushed down, unleas.h.i.+ng an overwhelming pressure on Davis as it revealed its crimson fangs. However, Davis had expected this to happen, summoning out his reincarnation energy that pierced into the injured annihilative lightning dragon.
Instantly, that dragon shuddered, feeling its Will quiver before it rapidly vanished like paper smoke. Its Will seemed to not exist in the first place, causing the giant blackish-red body to whittle apart. However, the reincarnation energy was superimposed by life energy, and the remnant strands of annihilative heavenly lightning were dragged into one single ent.i.ty as they were being refined.
'That's all I can afford to take now...'
Davis saw that not even the second heavenly strike hadn't been refined yet, although it was almost complete. However, the next five strikes wouldn't wait for him, causing him to decisively stop his greedy emotions from taking over.
His mission was to survive and live to see the world past this immortal tribulation. After all, he could very well feel the crazy heavens wanting to eradicate him from the face of its jurisdiction!
That feeling became more prominent as he gazed at the fifth strike that was forming above his head in the skies. Its furious aura soared and turned into a five-meter tall dragon, its big eyes unleas.h.i.+ng a murderous intent that struck his face.
At that moment, Davis felt the entire world sink beneath his vision.
His Will had been negatively influenced, starting to become meeker but clenching his teeth, he raised his head and yelled as he opened his mouth wide.
"Come here, you stupid son of a!"
*RUMBLE!~*
