Staring at this giant lobster, YeZheng licked her lips as she couldn’t wait to enjoy this feast.
Just seeing how the giant lobster was moving around, holding a crab in its hands, she did not understand how it ended up…dead. Immediately, she thought of the giant fish that had appeared and disappeared in front of her. She was very sure that this was the doing of that mermaid. But here comes the question, is it edible?
YeZheng just thought that even if that big fish wanted to kill him, with all his strength and power, he wouldn’t need to do it with poisoned fish. Even if it was that case, the hunger in her stomach had overcome all thought of suspicion. As she easily persuaded herself, she decided to eat the beautiful lobster meat in front of her.
YeZheng crouched down and ripped off a small piece of the s.h.i.+ny bright meat, sending it to her mouth.
The meat was tender and slightly sweat. Some of the natural salt water from the sea remained as a flavouring making the meat delicious. YeZheng couldn’t wait but to intake more of this delicacy. She didn’t think further and grabbed the entire lobster and started chugging the meat into her mouth.
YeZheng swore that Boston lobsters could not taste better than this mysterious giant lobster!
As YeZheng licked the last few shreds of lobster off her hands, there was a loud SPLASH sound. Something flew out of the ocean and landed right in front of YeZheng. Five times as large as the clam that YeZheng had eaten before, the meat was still fresh and slightly wiggling. YeZheng looked at the clam in slight disgust as it looked slimy and hard to take care of. It felt disgusting and slippery.
YeZheng tried getting the meat out of the huge clam. Before she could finish, two other things flew out of the ocean in front of YeZheng. Two very strange looking things…
One of them was a wet fish-like organism. The other one looked like a Sea cuc.u.mber. YeZheng poked the Sea Cuc.u.mber and it immediately contracted the slimy layer above its thorns. Then, “puhhh…” it spit out a mouthful of a transparent, wet, slimy substance.
At this moment, YeZheng was already quite full from the other seafood, and did not want to go anywhere near touching this creature.
To be honest, if that sea cuc.u.mber came before the huge lobster, YeZheng might have taken a bite or two to try it out as she was dying from hunger, but now… not so much.
To prevent that mermaid to throw anything else weird on sh.o.r.e, YeZheng decided to throw all these things back into the ocean, to communicate that she did not want any more food.
She used two fingers and picked up the blue sea cuc.u.mber. It was still moving… In disgust, she throws it back into the ocean.
A huge creature burst out of the ocean jumping up angled like the shape of a bow, caught the sea cuc.u.mber, and landed right back into the ocean.
What an interesting sight!
YeZheng grabbed a clam and threw it too.
The big guy jumped back up again, this time upside down, hitting the clam into the ocean with its tail, and landing right back with a splash of water.
This creature knows how to be entertaining!
She used one of her arrowheads and cut the fish meat into pieces, repeatedly throwing the pieces one by one.
Each time she threw a piece, the creature would take a leap up from the ocean, catch the piece of meat and land back. Even when she increased the speed of the pitching, the creature made no error, catching each piece of meat with precision.
At last, all the meat was depleted.
She started finding a place to sleep to pa.s.s the night. As she bent over to take her belongings, “flop flop flop.” Three enormous pieces of fish meat landed in from of YeZheng.
YeZheng saw that these pieces of meat were even larger than the one before, maybe two or three time! Is the creature addicted to playing this little game of catch?
YeZheng tried carrying these pieces of meat. It was heavy… Real heavy… Much heavier than the one before.
“Fine,” YeZheng mumbled, “Lets just say this is for the huge lobster that satiated my stomach.”
And again, she started playing the catching game with the creature.
Slowly as YeZheng’s mind set started to change from completing the mission of entertaining the creature to having a little bit of fun! The reason to this was: the creature was too energetic, it even started making poses when it came out!
Sometimes she threw pieces continuously, sometimes they went out together, sometimes she would aim to throw further away from the sh.o.r.e, sometimes using both hands throwing to different directions!
The creature seemed to be having so much fun. Its wet tail s.h.i.+ned a reflection against the moonlight, waving past the air and the horizon. Its fins completely opened each time it jumped up. This time, its fins did not look like it was under pressure and in anyway a danger. Each time the winds blow across its fins, the thin transparent parts create waves like light cloth.
The creature caught each piece of meat with a stylish position, then spun back into the water, making a huge splash of s.h.i.+ny water pearls.
YeZheng was amazed by this beautiful, elegant scene. She thought, divers should come look at this, what true high levelled diving is, except just that the water splashed too much.
Quickly after, the meat had run out again. This was also when YeZheng noticed that her arms were exceptionally sore.
She began to leave, hoping that the next day, she would still be able to use her sore arms properly. At this moment, THREE MORE pieces of meat landed in from of her.
“Oh no…” She sighed, “when is this going to end? No, this is not right, that’s right, yes It should end now!”
The three pieces of fresh fish meat were even larger than the ones before. YeZheng tried carrying them and was so surprised. Each piece of meat must’ve weighed five or six kilograms. Obviously, the creature was not tired yet.
But YeZheng was already too exhausted to play anymore. She must rest and restore her stamina and let her arms relax to ensure that she has enough arm strength to pull the string on her bow the next day.
YeZheng left the three pieces of meat there lying on the sand. Taking her belongings, she left. As she walked into the island, she did not look back.
Though it felt like there was a sad, lonely creature above the sea looking at her, waiting for her presence like she was its only friend. YeZheng started developing this feel of guilt.
“Tomorrow,” as YeZheng said to herself, trying to direct it to the creature. “If people don’t come and save me tomorrow, I’ll play with you again.”
She sighed and went straight to her destination.
As she walked, she noticed a huge tree about two hundred meters forward. Compared to the “coconut trees” she found earlier with all the fruits on the head, this tree was huge and expanded with twigs and arms sticking out.
YeZheng saw the seagulls returning to that particular tree to rest. Maybe that tree is safe from snakes. YeZheng decided to pa.s.s this night on that tree.
She did not think though, when she got to the tree, this tree was very tall, exceptionally tall. The branches that separated were like fifty meters and higher. All the rest below was just the thick body of the tree.
YeZheng had no choice but to climb this tree, going up little by little.
At this moment, the positive thoughts about that creature all disappeared as the jeans she was wearing were all shredded and all of her skin were pressing against the rough tree bark.
YeZheng sat on a huge branch and both of her thighs were burning with pain, as most of the skin was ripped off.
“I changed my mind,” YeZheng breathed in with anger. She tied herself to the tree to gain balance with her shredded jeans and shouted with anger.
“I will definitely NOT PLAY WITH YOU TOMORROW!”
