Chapter 246 - Figured it out?

An hour later, an interesting gossip appeared in the company forum.

A witness shared what he saw while he was getting off work. Like how Secretary Xiu shoved their mighty and cold President Lu in the parking garage while they were entering the car and that the President even looked at his secretary dotingly, and insistently stuck to her side even inside the vehicle.

Comments flooded in and soon spread around to the different branches of Lu Corporation.

Unfortunately, what the witness didn't see was the blooming strawberries on Secretary Xiu's neck.

Meanwhile, Lu Chen was busy appeasing his angered wife as they drove home.

Xiu Mei kept glaring at the shameless man beside her who tried to look as pitiful as possible in front of her to get her attention. She rolled her eyes at his act, recalling his beastly actions in the office.

Her ears reddened in embarra.s.sment as she recalled Lu Chen's pa.s.sionate play as he pressed her on the shelf, on the desk, and on the sofa.

She covered her face after it completely registered in her mind how they did such shameless acts in the workplace.

My G.o.d! How is she supposed to enter the President's office from now on ah?!

Xiu Mei grew even angrier at the man beside her. She really feels like beating him up right now. Should she make him sleep with King and Lucia tonight instead of the guestroom?

d.a.m.n it. Why does it feel like she won't be able to escape from his misbehaving claws?

But no matter how much Xiu Mei wants to ignore her husband today, she never forgot the important thing she needs to show him which was the mail she received today. So after snubbing him for the entire dinner and after tucking Lu Qiang to bed, she decided to talk to him again.

"Not angry anymore?" Lu Chen revealed a knowing smile on his face as he sat on his side of the bed. His n.a.k.e.d c.h.e.s.t was exposed to her eyes so she could clearly see the contours of his entire upper body from where she was standing.

Xiu Mei hasn't forgotten his shamelessness at the office so she just rolled her eyes at him, grabbed the mail inside her purse, and threw it over to the man on the bed.

Lu Chen glanced at the attractive white envelope and picked it up.

"What's this? A love letter that my wife wrote for me?" Lu Chen continued teasing her while picking up the envelope. He went and read the contents. As soon as he began to read it, the smile on his face disappeared, and as it grew darker until he reached the end of the letter.

"b.a.s.t.a.r.d!" Lu Chen heartlessly threw the letter on the floor.

He glared at the letter while suppressing himself from tearing it into pieces. To think that such a pervert was after his wife! A lunatic!!

But what angered him the most was that this guy was too bold in his actions. He was a pervert that has no fear as if he was completely confident that no one will catch him.

No, it may actually be the opposite. It's actually more like he was waiting for someone to catch him. And he has some kind of perversion towards Xiu Mei, that's why he kept giving him gifts.

"I'll take care of this." He rose from the bed, grabbed a s.h.i.+rt, and stormed away leaving Xiu Mei in the room.

Realizing the situation, Xiu Mei immediately went after him to the study.

"I want to stay." She resolutely expressed her stance on the matter. She didn't want to be pushed aside again, and since this time they have much more clues to investigate with, there's no way she'll be watching on the sidelines again.

Lu Chen pressed his lips tightly before giving in to his wife's request. Both sat at the opposite sides of the study table, and on the table laid the open letter.

"I've already contacted someone to pick up this letter for testing if this is human blood." He stated.

"Mm."

"When did you receive this?"

"Just today. This was already on my table and since mails for our department are picked up daily, at least we know that this was slipped in the morning."

"Have Lu Shao pull up the CCTV footage starting from last night to this morning at the main reception."

"I already requested for the footage. I watched it once but I didn't notice any suspicious person at all. Even the receptionists said that all the mails we received were from the usual mailman. Since they immediately set aside the mails addressed to the staff under the President's office as soon as they receive it, they put it in a box and that's when my a.s.sistant picks it up in the morning. They also check each mail so they were sure that all the members in the box for us today were with postage stamps."

Lu Chen listened and commented, "then that means it was slipped after it was picked up."

Xiu Mei scratched her cheeks. "Yeah… but that's the problem. When my a.s.sistant picked it up, it was a rush hour so it was inevitable that she b.u.mped into a lot of people and squeezed into the elevator before she arrived at the office."

It's not like Xiu Mei hadn't thought of that so she also requested the footage for that as well. But when she reviewed it, she just got disappointed.

"Forward those footages to Lu Shao and he'll know what to do."

"Mhm."

Lu Chen pointed at the postscript on the letter.

"We'll need to identify this one as well."

"Yeah. I was trying to figure that out for the entire afternoon but I really had no clue what the 'special gift' was. And that's scarier because according to the letter, he said I willingly accepted it so that means whatever that gift was, it's probably still with me." Xiu Mei pointed out.

"Since we receive a lot of stuff most of the time, I can't even identify what the gift was at all. If we could figure that out, and since it seems that I personally received it, I've probably met the sender before." She added as she continued pondering about it.

"Any idea about receiving anything recently?" Lu Chen recalled when they received the first gift. "Probably anything within the span of six months."

Xiu Mei carefully thought it over again. Within six months?

Well, since she was in and out of the hospital within those time period, she didn't attend that many events. She did meet with a lot of people as well the business trips she took back when she was hiding from Lu Chen before. Then she tends to receive souvenirs from her colleagues as well so she can't really list it all down. Six months is still too much timeframe.

She shook her head and sighed deeply.

Her head suddenly felt heavy catching her off-guard. She raised her head and met with Lu Chen's gentle gaze as he continued stroking her head to comfort her.

"I'm here." He said in a soft voice.

Xiu Mei's gaze quivered. Even though it was just a short phrase, the weight on her heart suddenly felt lighter than before. Since lunchtime, her head was filled with figuring out the contents of the letter and she was getting too stressed out about it.

Lu Chen probably noticed that so he was trying to ease her worries at the moment.

But then… Xiu Mie frowned again recalling the shameful office play.

Well, he still won't let him off for what he did in the office. He won't kick him out of her bed but she'll make sure he won't touch her tonight.

Xiu Mei was curious. Was it probably related to the underground city or something?

She didn't bother the two and returned to her seat to watch the drama with her son. She was chatting and laughing with him when the butler suddenly informed her that Lu Chen was calling for her.

Puzzled, she made her way to the study and saw the grim expressions on the two men's faces.

The atmosphere was so heavy and Xiu Mei was immediately brought back to the time when she was always frightened to go to Lu Chen's office every time he angrily tells her to come to the office.

The atmosphere was so similar at that time that she subconsciously felt like she was going to get scolded again.

"President Lu?" She said in a small voice, thinking that he called her here not as his wife but as his secretary.
