He couldn't have imagined that he would encounter the one person he least wanted to see in this place.

He desperately wished this person was an imposter, but the unique green flame made him all too certain that the person before him was indeed the one he least wanted to see.

Divine flame!

Only a divine flame could destroy his Ash Flame easily.

Why was this fellow here?

Landon felt like he was about to have a breakdown. His scalp tingled and his head was on the verge of exploding.

No one could understand his current state of mind.

"Are you surprised? Are you shocked?" w.a.n.g Teng looked at him with a smile and asked.

Landon:

Pleasantly surprised? More like surprised my foot!

Landon wanted to punch that smiling face when he saw it. He wanted to smash that face that he despised so much.

But he couldn't do it. He just couldn't.

This was infuriating!

"Brother w.a.n.g w.a.n.g, why are you here?" Lan Deng forced a smile with a twitch at the corner of his mouth.

He felt like he could salvage the situation. Although w.a.n.g Teng had intervened suddenly, it didn't necessarily mean he was taking the snakemen's side.

Maybe he just thought the queen was attractive and wanted to play the hero?

"I just happened to be pa.s.sing by," w.a.n.g Teng said with a grin.

"Well, what a coincidence!" Landon replied with a stiff smile.

"Our fate runs pretty deep, don't you think?" w.a.n.g Teng said with a meaningful look.

What kind of fate is this? It feels more like a cursed fate.

Little Qing'er wanted to laugh. The atmosphere was so serious, but that guy had managed to make it both funny and awkward.

"By the way, Brother Landon, what are you doing here?" w.a.n.g Teng asked, pretending to be curious.

"I'm not doing anything; I was just pa.s.sing by," Landon replied with a straight face.

"Aren't you here to find the Azure Sea Pearl?" w.a.n.g Teng cut through his lie, grinning.

He knew, yet he still asked!

This jerk was indeed quite devious.

At this point, he was well aware that w.a.n.g Teng had likely been in the hall the entire time and had overheard his conversation with the snakemen queen.

But w.a.n.g Teng insisted on pretending he had just happened to pa.s.s by, which was incredibly infuriating.

What drove him to the brink of madness was that he almost believed it.

"Brother w.a.n.g, since you already know, why bother asking as if you didn't?" Landon took a deep breath, wiping the smile off his face, and asked in a calm tone.

"Just wanted to confirm," w.a.n.g Teng said with a grin.

Landon found that every time he spoke with this guy, he couldn't help but feel a surge of anger for no apparent reason. Taking another deep breath, he furrowed his brow and asked, "What do you want?"

"Brother Landon, can you tell me what purpose the Azure Sea Pearl has?" w.a.n.g Teng asked.

"I can't tell you," Landon replied coldly.

"This isn't right. Given our relations.h.i.+p, it's heartbreaking that you won't tell me," w.a.n.g Teng said, appearing genuinely saddened.

Landon felt the corners of his lips twitching.

What kind of relations.h.i.+p did they have?

It was more like a blood feud.

The Parkers family had been at odds with this guy for a long time, and as a member of the Parkers family, w.a.n.g Teng was unlikely to let him go.

However, for now, they hadn't completely torn each other apart.

"Who knows if you're trying to deceive me and use me as a tool," w.a.n.g Teng said with a nonchalant smile.

"In that case, please step aside. I'm taking the queen with me. Brother w.a.n.g, you shouldn't be interested in the queen, right? I've heard some people have a thing for this type, could you be one of them?" Landon looked deeply at w.a.n.g Teng and suddenly smiled.
