81 Dream Calling

Of course, that stopped quite suddenly as he felt his body become heavy. A sudden impact jolted through him as he started to come to. Weirdly enough, it felt like someone was kicking his leg.

"Oi, monkey. Get up. Why are you sleeping on my floor?"

Laz, a bit dazed, suddenly had a bad feeling. Lifting himself up, he noticed an incredibly s.e.xy demon standing over him and kicking him. Her light blue hair and pale skin was especially noticeable in the bright moon light.

"Where the h.e.l.l am I now?" Laz asked, mostly to himself.

"Mmm... my home, in a manner of speaking," came the melodious reply back.

As Laz started to get up, he noticed the psycho woman walk over to a table and sit down. The table looked like it had grown right out of the floor but it had turned into some sort of white substance which added a rather artistic feel to it. Looking around, Laz noticed that the entire courtyard like area had a rather brownish ground level with various plants growing all over the place.

The ground itself wasn't like soil, but more like a strangely stiff substance. Looking around a bit more, Laz could even see a residence in the distance that looked like it had fused with the ground. Needless to say, he had never seen anything like this.

It was then that he looked up and noticed that the top of the courtyard was covered in branches coated with leaves and vines. What he thought was moonlight was actually hanging lanterns around the courtyard that shone gently with a soft white light. He couldn't even see the moon from here. Of course, this revelation led to another thought, was he dead? But if he was, why would she be here? And if he wasn't, was he still on Earth? Once these thoughts formed, he couldn't help but show a strange look on his face.

"Stop thinking and come over here," was the only help he got.

"I'm not answering any questions, so don't bother asking, my little toy. I will speak and you will listen. Understood?" Although her voice dripped with eroticism, it was tinged with a coldness that was unmistakable. Laz couldn't help but follow her orders and walk over.

Despite seeing her again, Laz couldn't help but be marveled at this other worldly beauty. She was still wearing her signature form-fitted dark red dress which was almost a bit too short. As she was sitting, she had her legs crossed which caused her pale white legs to stand out. Her small feet were especially captivating as they looked to be perfectly formed without flaw. Of course, considering the circ.u.mstances, Laz didn't want to raise his head to see any more.

The main problem with beautiful women is that they knew they were beautiful and thus could use that. Since Laz had no insights into this she-devil, he felt that maybe keeping his eyes to himself was the best choice. Despite keeping them under control and looking down, Laz was still strangely turned on by just her feet.

'Oh d.a.m.n... am I that kind of guy?' Laz seemed to question his taste in fetishes at this moment.

For her part, she didn't say anything while he stood there silently and just sipped from a simple stone cup. At least it looked like stone from what Laz could see out of the corner of his eye. In truth, the cup was the same color as the table which was oddly the same whitish color of her chair. Even though he intensly wanted to know more, he kept himself silent and didn't bother to use his sense ability. It was the first time since he got it that he was hesitant to use it since it felt like she would know.

"You're doing pretty well, already at late stage awakening. Compared to others, this is a very acceptable speed," she finally said, breaking the silence.

"Late stage awakening?" Laz couldn't help but ask, even though he knew he shouldn't.

"Sigh, fine. Nothing more after this. And the only reason I am telling you is because you are at the point where you need to know." She stood up and walked a bit closer, until she was right in front of him.

It was only now that he got a feeling for how tall she actually was. Laz's height had spiked recently due to a number of factors, but even then, he still barely came up to her chin.

"When you first started changing, you entered the early phase of awakening. At some point, when you reached a certain level of energy in your body, you entered middle phase. And now, it seems that you have developed enough to enter late stage. In all honesty, it doesn't take much to go through these stages and they can be completely quickly. The key is understanding source essence and how it works, how it flows. Since you are at the late stage, you must already have enough understanding about that so I won't bother explaining. The next level can be roughly translated into 'Condensing' but I guess compacting would be a better term. Either way, now that the energy as taken root in your body and saturated it, you can finally start storing it in one place."

She walked over and gestured with her finger, pointing to an area above his navel and another area in between his eyes but up a little bit.

"You have two choices here. In fact, your entire race does. Either one or the other will work, but there are side effects for both. In The lower area, changes there will effect your body and will make you less like a monkey and more like something else. What that something else is can be entirely random, at least from what I've seen. Also, we seen some of your people turn into really funny things or blow themselves up by trying to condense too early and too quickly, but that shouldn't be a problem for you. Now then, changes in the upper area will cause you to have some forms of mental strain and possibly mental damage. Honestly, it's your choice. Lose your body or lose your mind? I'm curious to know what you will pick."

She walked back and sat down, before sipping her drink once again and leaving Laz to digest the information she had just given him. For his part, Laz was suddenly connecting a few dots that he had noticed before but missed.

The weird mutations in people and the differences between someone like him and someone like Tommy.

"The energies... are different?" He asked, despite warning himself not to.

"Oh? Perceptive little thing, aren't you? Yes, they are different. They are also in opposition of each other. Needless to say, once you chose one and find someone who users the other type, you will instinctively hate each other."

"Why?"

"Sorry, but that's all for today. One last thing though. Did you know you died?" She asked while looking at him with a somewhat wicked smile.

"I'm dead?" Laz looked at himself in shock. It was only know that he realized he was still wearing his clothes that he had left the house with, just that there wasn't any damage to them and no large b.l.o.o.d.y hole in his chest. After patting himself around a bit and reaching under his jacket and s.h.i.+rt, he felt that his skin seemed untouched.

"You died, you are not dead though. You see, you are already my toy, little monkey. You don't get to die until I'm either done playing with you, or you p.i.s.s me off enough." With that, she raised her left hand and pointed to her pointer finger.

'See this nail? I had to use a bit of my own source essence to heal you which meant using a tiny bit of my nail to revive you. Luckily for you, you are very weak and it doesn't take a lot. If you keep dying however and I have to keep bringing you back to life, I just won't bother. I want to keep my nails even after all."

She then put down her hand to grab her cup and took another sip before looking at him again. It seemed like she wanted to see his reaction, or to see that he understood her. Sadly though, Laz was far from being close to comprehending what she meant. In the end, she couldn't help but sigh and wonder if she had made the wrong choice.

"Also, as you get stronger, it will take more to bring you back. If the day comes where the cost outweighs the benefit, then kiss your life goodbye. How's that sound, hmm? Knowing that you can't die unless I let you? She was smiling at him as though an owner looking at an amusing pet. It made him shudder all over as he vowed to not have to rely on her again.

"Why do I keep seeing you?" Laz finally asked when he calmed down.

"Seeing me? This is simply a Dream Call. After this first time, we have never really been in the same place. Now then, time for you to go back," she said as she stood up and slowly walked over to him with a devilish smile.

"How do I wake up?"

"You die."

'Oh, that explains things,' Laz thought to himself as she made her way over.

As she was raising her hand and and bringing her fingers in together, Laz had one last thought.

"What is your name?"

He didn't get a response back as she just rammed her hand over, shoving it, fingers first, through his chest.

Laz didn't flinch this time. Ironically enough, he felt like he might be getting used to this. Instead, he just smiled at her. Truthfully though, he had come to a bit of a revelation or two concerning this crazed woman. He was connected to her in ways he couldn't possibly understand since she had chosen him. Therefore, she needed him for something although he wasn't strong enough to find out what that was yet.

Laz had another feeling as well. He wasn't sure, but he felt that she was also threatening him, telling him that if he failed to get stronger or wasted her time, that she would just let him die or even kill him herself. For the first time is Laz's life, he felt pressured.

It was only after his body slumped over and started to fade that she pulled her hand back.

"What the h.e.l.l are you smiling for monkey?" Although she said it out loud, she knew he wouldn't hear her.

She also couldn't stop a smile from appearing on her face. She was starting to like this random choice toy of hers. She wondered how long he could amuse her, before she had to sacrifice him...
