Chapter 9 Part4

Zhang Youcheng was also distracted by the media, but managed to climb out of the hole, before the group swarmed up.

The police department had picked up on the commotion and sent others to help them, but they failed to break into the media hoopla for a moment.

Seeing the chaotic situation, Jing Sa hastened and hid back in the car.

While in a tizzy on how to deal with the media swarming outside the door, her phone vibrated and the caller was Xiaoxiao. She immediately ignored them and picked up the phone.

Jing Sa covers the microphone for fear that her words will be overheard by the media, “I'm a mess here, say what you have to say!”

“The media?”

Jing Za was amazed, “How did you know?”

Xiaoxiao is sitting on her boss chair and looking at the Public Security Bureau where Jing Sa works on her computer screen

"Haven't you heard of the words live broadcast yet?"

“What!?”

Jing Sa looked out the window and saw the media's live car, “d.a.m.n it, how come it's still live!”

She hurriedly rolled down the window and shouted at Zhang Youcheng, ”Get in the car! They're broadcasting live!”

Zhang Youcheng was forced to retreat straight back by reporters. Since they live, he could not swear so his old face is now suffocated with red.

Jing Sa turned her head to the phone again and said, “Are you on to something?”

“Well, it's just speculation, but also a corroboration.”

Upon hearing it, Jing Sa jerked up instantly in delight, "What clue, let's hear it!”

Xiaoxiao: “Before I say it, I need a favor!”

"I'm in trouble now, just say anything and I'll help you whenever I can!" She looked at Zhang Youcheng who was about to flare up and rushed out of the car to help him.

“I want you to praise the killer in front of the press!”

Jing Sa thought she had heard wrong, “What did you say!”

Xiaoxiao repeated with the same bland tone, "Praise him!"

“Are you crazy, I'm a cop!”

Where in the world do cops praise criminals, that's equivalent to tilting right and wrong upside down.

She was suddenly jolted by a thought of the cause of these hordes of reporters, "Don't tell me that these reporters came only because of your tip off!"

Xiaoxiao gave no positive response, just said, “Ajing, trust me!”

Trust me!

From memory, she had rarely heard her say it, but every time she did, it was when she was at her most confident.

But this time, she's unsure, “Is this how we'll catch the killer?”

“The murderer will be caught sooner or later, but the fate of that child depends on this moment!”

Jing Sa is a little confused, but she knows that Xiaoxiao will never fight a battle that she is not sure of.

“You'll explain it to me, won't you?”

Xiaoxiao laughed, “Of course, come to me when you're done there and I'll naturally explain it to you.”

Jing Sa gritted her teeth and decided to give it a go.

"Fine! I'll listen to you!”

She ended the call and pushed Zhang Yousheng away from the jaws of death, exposing herself completely to the media.

As soon as she presented herself, the media reporters' attention was instantly focused on her, and every face was full of antic.i.p.ation, hoping something would slip out of her mouth.

Jing Sa coughed a few times to cover up her inner tension. Her hands were tightly gripped as she faced the microphones crowded in front of her.

She gulped down a mouthful of spittle, took another deep breath, and scolded Xiaoxiao a dozen times before she spoke.

“I know everyone is concerned about the progress of this case, and the police are also investigating it seriously. But I'm sorry, we have no comments on the details of the case.”

Hearing that, the reporters were disgruntled. This is equivalent to saying something for nothing.

“But…” she paused, pinching her thighs viciously, forcing herself to say, “But I can tell you that this criminal…he's very smart, very professional, and I think he might be the best criminal to date too.”

Jing Sa's words of praise instantly stunned the crowd.

Zhang Youcheng was utterly shocked. Praising the criminal, has she gone crazy?

Jing Sa herself felt like she's nuts. She couldn't believe that string of compliments came out of her mouth.

Zhang Youcheng immediately stood tall in front of Jing Sa, stopping her from going any further. Those who came out of the police station to help rushed to drag her toward the station.

But, it's live! All of what she said was filmed and recorded by the press.

The video ent.i.tled "Beauty Police Officer's profane praise of criminals in public" appeared online almost immediately. And as soon as it was aired, comments and retweets were on fire, faster than a rocket, sweeping the major news channels and making headlines!

Accompanied by all kinds of abuse and contempt, colored by a variety of curses. There's no doubt about it, in a little while, Jing Sa will be directly exposed and subjected to public criticism.

On the other end, Xiaoxiao sat quietly in front of her computer screen and clicked into an official forum that had been set up not long ago in response to the kidnapping, both for remembrance and in the hope that the general public would be able to provide clues through anonymous means.

It not only contains photos of the children, but also a detailed account of their family background, hobbies, etc.

Jing Sa's interview was quickly reposted there, and the forum immediately exploded into a frenzy. As in other places, some netizens even posted invitations to join the rally in front of the Public Security Bureau.

Xiaoxiao paid them no attention and instead posted a comment with the subject: What do you think this criminal will be like?

Because of the case, the forum's traffic is quite huge, the number of comments quickly exceeded a hundred. She filtered through them intently, her black eyes seemingly waiting for something.

More and more comments popped up, mostly abusive to Jing Sa. Some think the police are completely screwed, there are also those who wanted to cause trouble, and some even took the opportunity to post ads.

Suddenly, a comment jumped out, no exaggerated fonts, no emoticons, no eye-catching colors, exactly the forum's default font specifications, but it made Xiaoxiao's eyes light up.

“I think this criminal has a high IQ, meticulous, and could play the cops so hard that he might become a legend!”

Xiaoxiao immediately replied, “I don't think so, instead I think he's mediocre and is often ignored in real life, to the point of being useless!”

Her reply was sent but the other party did not respond.

Sliding back against the back of the chair, the light in her eyes still hasn't diminished as she waited patiently. All that could be heard is the crisp tapping of her index finger against the table.

Swiftly, a reply appeared, but it was, “Who are you?”

The corners of Xiaoxiao's mouth rose, and a faint smile bloomed like a flower……
