Chapter 6 Part3

His inebriation was swept away at once. He swallowed and cleared his throat again, and answered a.s.s-kissing, “Say the word, I'll do it right away!”

Kang Xi instructed, “Come to my house on the earliest flight tomorrow.”

He hung up after his order.

Ji Xiaonan sat on the edge of the bed, silly for a moment, then slapped himself hard on the face and called his secretary without delay.

“Book me on the earliest flight tomorrow! For mainland S city! Yeah, don't ask why? I'm busy! By the way, don't take any cases until I get back! That's right! Also, remember to pick me up early tomorrow morning on the way to the airport.”

At the hotel, Geng b.u.mei was also dumbfounded, "How come you're even asking Lao Ji! That's how much you hate girls!”

Ji Xiaonan is a professional private detective.

Kang Xi grunted through his nose, looking already displeased to the extreme.

“Book me on the earliest flight tomorrow, I'm going back. Remember to file a leave of absence with the director and say I'm unwell and not in my right mind.”

Geng b.u.mei rejoined, “What's wrong with your mind, you just had a medical checkup.”

Kang Xi's “brain discomfort” excuse has a story. It is said that when he was 5 years old, he had an accident in kindergarten. He knocked his head and bled. He fell into a coma for three days. Although there were no sequelae, his mother still was not at ease and insisted on having brain comprehensive examination every year, saying that the 10,000 cost wasn't important, just in case.

The people in the circle did not know the reason for this, and thought that Kang Xi was suffering from some kind of chronic dysentery.

When he was studying, if he was in a bad mood and wanted to skip cla.s.s, he would use it as an excuse to shake people up. But he had never pulled this before once he entered the show business, today was an exception.

Was his brain truly wrecked?

Kang Xi didn't bother explaining to him and pushed him out of the room disgustingly, “Remember to book my ticket!”

With a “bang”, the door slammed shut and nearly crushed Geng b.u.mei's nose.

In the morning, he packed his bags and went straight to the airport. Geng b.u.mei couldn't go with him and was left directly in City B to take care of that leave with the director.

The director thought Kang Xi had fallen on his head and was very nervous, saying that his part could be postponed for a few days and that everything should be done with health as the priority.

Geng b.u.mei stayed back in City B to care for the aftermath without following him to S City. There are still a few dramas waiting to be discussed. With Kang Xi's absence, he can't be lazy as his agent.

Kang Xi took the earliest flight and landed steadily. He was wearing super dark sungla.s.ses and a mask, and walked briskly out of the entrance. Chen Bo was already waiting outside, so he got into his own car and sped all the way again.

The Kang family's villa is a unique U-shaped half-circle design, shaped like the Chinese character “concave”, maximizing the villa's light exposure and lighting time. Facing the main house gate, standing in the middle of the garden is a Nordic style gla.s.s sunroom. It's Nuomi's favorite place to nap.

Kang Xi stepped out of the car, and before he could get there, Nuomi's ears p.r.i.c.ked up in alert to the sound of his footsteps. She raised her head, and rushed out. Seeing Kang Xi from afar, she came running wildly, jumping up and down excitedly in front of him, her bushy tail swinging like a propeller.

Inside the villa, the main hall was wide and elegant, with reasonable seating and a clever layout. Every window was a picture of a beautiful landscape. As soon as he entered the door, Chen Ma greeted him with a smile, "Xiao Xi, have you had breakfast? Should I prepare a bowl of wonton for you?"
