The combat vessels of Alchemy City had to be of formidable strength in order to stop Cloudflow fleets from heading north. If not for encountering someone of grade-10, Sregl Island combat vessels were more than capable of traveling the seas north of Alchemy City.

Jason was seated in the main combat vessel of Sregl Island. Since Rance had the G.o.dly Items refined from the Fire Element Elf, Sregl Island should have been safe from any trouble even if they had given their most powerful combat vessel to Jason.

The body of the combat vessel was made from the bones of magic beasts, but it was different from the Dragon skeleton combat vessel in that the bones were the same as ordinary combat vessels made from iron and steel. Once the bones had been refined, they were mixed together. On the other hand, the Dragon skeleton combat vessel mainly used the bones of ancient giant dragons to be made into the body of the vessels. They were st.u.r.dier and possessed attacking abilities. It was like a magic tower floating on the sea.

The main combat vessel of Sregl Island looked like a sharp metal triangle, exuding black light. There was nothing protruding on top of the combat vessel. In the front there was a row of slanted crystal windows, where the captain of the vessel would usually be.

The rear of the combat vessel was where the weapons of magic combat vessels usually were. There were rectangular magic stone artilleries that were joined together with metallic stands to form an even bigger square.

In other words, the four magic stone artilleries that had been joined together would be able to shoot at the same target simultaneously.

Jason’s boat was too st.u.r.dy and was even more powerful than skeletal wars.h.i.+ps. Not only did skeletal wars.h.i.+ps utilize a lot of resources, their structures were entirely logical, hence they were easily defeated by Cloudflow. On the other hand, the combat vessel from Sregl Island was able to take more damage. There was also s.p.a.ce on the vessel that was specially for mages to battle. Just like magic towers, the s.p.a.ce could enhance mages’ accuracy, attacking distance, and reduce the usage of magic chords.

What made the Sreeger Island combat vessels even more powerful was that there were sound transmission magic arrays on each vessel. As long as they stayed within a certain distance from each other, they would not need coordinates in order to join forces in battle.

When the winged skeleton commanded battles, he had to rely on his control over the spirits of the dead. Such a method of relaying information was unique only to him. No one else would be able to command his Spirit Fleet. This was why he managed to sink quite a few Cloudflow transport carriers when he personally fought in battle, but when he operated a single combat vessel on his own, he was defeated easily.

Besides, all Alchemy City combat vessels could travel at a speed of more than one-hundred miles an hour.

There were a total of fourteen s.h.i.+ps, four large and ten medium-sized. The route that Jason had chosen was a straight one and they would travel twenty-five-hundred miles each day.

Jason was already rus.h.i.+ng as quickly as he could, but by the time he reached Metatrin City, Saleen had already left.

When the combat vessels approached, it was as if Metatrin City was facing a formidable enemy. There were a number of diving combat vessels underwater near the port of Metatrin City. The soldiers on the combat vessels have been warned not to attack unless the enemy had entered the port. The winged skeleton had no choice but to set that order because he knew that the weapons on the diving combat vessels were not powerful enough to handle powerful combat vessels on the water surface yet.

Truman, who was training on White Rock Mountain, had already aimed the magic cannon at the port. He was sweating nervously, but soon after, he saw a small lifeboat approaching the port.

It was a swordmaster from Sregl Island on the lifeboat.

There were plenty of merchant s.h.i.+ps in the port. These s.h.i.+ps were still unaware of the arrival of the combat vessels and were still busy being filled up with goods. The security forces of port quickly deployed someone to receive the person on the lifeboat. They did not dare to attack hastily because most of the vessels with combat abilities had already been taken away by Saleen.

That time around, Saleen was only targeting low-level and middle-level magic beasts in his hunt at Oceanic Ice Block.

When Nicholas heard about what was happening, he immediately rushed to the port. After Saleen had left, he became the most powerful person in the city. He was responsible if anything happened at the port. By then, he had already fallen in love with the city and the way of life.

This was much more interesting than trying to climb up the hierarchy of the Holy See.

In Metatrin Kingdom, one’s reward correlated to their hard work, but for the Holy See, every honor belonged to G.o.d.

By the time Nicholas reached the port, he saw that the combat vessels had already entered and were docked beside the pier that was set aside for military use. There were two types of piers in Metatrin, even the merchant pier could be used to dock combat vessels though. There were empty slots throughout the year to facilitate easy entry for combat vessels.

Nicholas stood at the rear of the pier along with the soldiers of the seventh battalion and a few mages. He saw that the mages of the temple had already rushed to the pier excitedly and had cast spells at the combat vessels.

The spells they cast were those used for transmitting messages, such as Magic Flame.

Nicholas’ heart was shaken a little. Saleen had not mentioned anything to him about Sregl Island, but he vaguely knew that Saleen was expecting the arrival of a large group of mages and had already prepared large areas of land to build magic towers for those mages.

Nicholas did not rush to the front, choosing to observe from afar instead. He saw the mages cheering like a group of farmers, welcoming a person disembarking from the strange-looking combat vessel.

He was a mage dressed in a long black robe, with a gentle expression on his face. He looked younger than forty years old. He had probably advanced into a sorcerer before thirty years old, so his looks would never change from then on.

This black-robed mage glanced around before saying, “Why isn’t Saleen here?”

Nicholas felt a p.r.i.c.k in his ear. He was secretly listening in from afar, but did not expect to be found out by the black-robed mage. When the latter spoke, he even cast a small spell at Nicholas.

Nicholas was furious, but he quickly contained his anger. The man was calling for Saleen directly and had come all the way to Metatrin City. It was clear that he knew who Saleen was.

Even if the background of how Saleen became a king was unclear, he was now also the husband of Lex, which was a known fact. Despite that the mage seemed disrespectful in the way he called for Saleen…

“He must be Saleen’s elder! Yes, this must be Saleen’s teacher.” Nicholas thought.

Another person might not have been able to infer so much, but Nicholas had survived in the Holy See for so many years, so he was very familiar with unspoken etiquettes and rules of the world. If that man was Saleen’s teacher, then there was nothing for him to be upset about. Even though he only had two rows of magic symbols on his magic robe, which meant that he was only a grade-8 sorcerer.

Nicholas quickly rushed over once he came to that conclusion.

“My respects to Lord Mage.” Nicholas greeted politely.

Jason took one look at Nicholas and was surprised. The news that had traveled to Alchemy City did not include Saleen defeating the armies of the Holy See, so Jason was unaware that Saleen had taken in a grade-9 holy master.

“You are?”

“Lord Mage, I am a follower of His Highness, Saleen. My name is Nicholas, a fallen holy master,” Nicholas answered honestly.

“It is impressive of Saleen to be able to get someone of grade-9 to join him.” Jason nodded.

“Lord Mage, I was defeated by His Highness, Saleen. I chose to follow him willingly.”

Jason smiled gently and was not bothered by what Nicholas said. Most Sregl Island mages had been living in an enclosed environment, so they would not understand the cunning ways of the world. Jason was extremely smart and could accurately judge a person’s intention. That was a talent as much as it was an ability demonstrated only by a certain level of training in magic.

“I am Saleen’s teacher. Since you are his follower, bring us to Saleen’s palace. He is a king after all.”

Nicholas nodded and turned around to dismiss the soldiers of the seventh battalion. When he turned back, he saw many sorcerers of different levels disembarking from the combat vessels. That was when his heart was truly shaken.

Jason had brought along thirty-six sorcerers in total. Although most of them were grade-7 sorcerers there were so many of them even grade-9 sorcerers would have to think twice before attacking.

There were also swordmasters, grand swordmasters, and even archers that were beyond grade-7.

No wonder Saleen had been waiting and delaying. Nicholas did not expect Saleen to have such powerful reinforcements!

Nicholas led Jason and company back to the temple. No one dared to crowd around along the way. When so many mages appeared together in one place, everyone would be in a hurry to hide. In fact, there were a total of thirty-seven sorcerers including Jason, and one-hundred and twenty-eight grand mages. Such a concentration of powers could easily turn the entire city into a graveyard.

No one was concerned about the white-robed mages behind the grand mages. The news of so many mages suddenly appearing in Metatrin City would quickly spread around the entire Mainland without the need for spies.

Jason smiled when he saw the temple. Saleen was quite extravagant, but it was good because the exterior of the temple looked impressive and tall and looked similar to a magic tower. If a magic tower had been built in that way, the cost of resources required would have been terribly high. He wondered if the resources that he had given Saleen might have been used on the temple.

With a glance, Jason could tell that the defense of the temple far surpa.s.sed most magic towers. He was afraid that it was out of fear of death that Saleen had wasted so many resources in order to build something so ma.s.sive.

The mages that had come from Sregl Island earlier had been staying in the temple all that while and had also come forward to welcome Jason. There were so many of them that time around. If Saleen had not built something like that, they would not have been able to stay there together.

When Nicholas led Jason through the temple, the soldiers on duty in the temple came forward to conduct a security check. They were only dismissed after Nicholas whispered a few words to them.

When Jason saw that Nicholas did not berate the soldiers that had only come forward to carry out their duty, he was pleased. This follower of Saleen’s was pretty good.

“I want to use a magic array to talk to Lex.” Jason walked up to the third story. Beyond that was occupied by Saleen’s bodyguards. Sound transmission magic arrays and teleportation portals were all there.

Once they were connected to Daliang City, Jason spoke to the sound transmission magic array, “Is this Lex?”

There was silence over at Daliang City as someone quickly broughtLex to the sound transmission magic array. She did not know what was going on, except that someone had called for her. Lex spoke to the sound transmission magic array patiently, “I am Lex. May I know who this is?”
