“Burn!” Black William’s hands trembled vigorously. Even though his body had been temporarily frozen, he still managed to flip the page of the book.

At the same time, scarlet flames appeared out of nowhere. Unlike normal magic, the flames produced by this Divine spell directly engulfed Nailisi, who was making a beeline for Black William.

Within the flames, a blue electric current radiated throughout Nailisi’s body as she dashed forward. She covered a distance of one-hundred yards in the blink of an eye. Black William still had a crystal arrow in his stomach, causing his actions to be restrained and Nailisi arrived in front of him.

Nailisi’s longsword was for show only, to fool others. Her swordsmans.h.i.+p was actually really lousy. She then decided to throw the longsword away, before punching Black William’s chest.

Gigantic holy prose flashed on Black William’s long robe, and Nailisi’s fist was in so much pain that she felt like it was broken. She then quickly withdrew her hand. The Dragon’s Tooth Dagger appeared in her left hand. Nailisi sidestepped, then swiped the dagger at Black William’s neck.

Black William was greatly damaged by Nailisi’s punch, as blood started flowing out from the corners of his mouth. He did not dare tussle with this ferocious warrior. He straightened his back then used one hand to grab onto the tail of the crystal arrow and pulled it out forcefully.

The moment the crystal arrow left his body, Black William immediately felt the numbing sensation become much weaker. He caught sight of the two mages who had tricked him, they had already cast a speed-enhancing spell and were rus.h.i.+ng back to the camp compound. He did not dare approach Nailisi, yet he was reluctant to let the two mages escape.

After the grave impact by the crystal arrow, Black William had become slightly disoriented. He had even forgotten what methods the man used to break away from his level-7 divine shackle.

To be able to break away from the level-7 divine shackle was a testament to the mage’s abilities. Black William’s rage had taken over his rationality, however. He was determined to kill those two mages in order to remove his humiliation.

He had been infighting with his five other comrades for over thirty years now. If news of this got circulated, his status in the inquisition would be greatly affected. Black William was indignant. It was not like he had never been injured before, but this was the first time he was hurt by a mage who had used a non-magic skill. This mage was still two grades lower than him also.

After removing the crystal arrow, the wound on his stomach closed up slowly, sealing the blood in. The two mages had traveled for several miles by now. Black William clenched his teeth and took out a bottle of high level holy water, then consumed it. The numbing sensation in his lower abdomen had completely vanished, and his speed had reverted to normal. Black William flew up, breaking away from Nailisi who was a.s.saulting him.

A pair of black wings grew out from two corners of Black William’s long robe, doubling his speed that instant.

The mage at the front seemed to have eyes on his back, as he suddenly flew into the air with the female mage. While in the process of flying up, thick clouds with a diameter of more than one-hundred yards appeared around the male mage’s body, concealing the two mages.

Black William sneered, he flipped to the last page of the black book, and three-hundred and sixty holy prose flew out, encircling his body. A black sickle, about one yard long, had appeared in his hand. This sickle was slightly larger than one used for agriculture, it was stained with rust and carried a hint of blackish red hue.

“This mage’s combat awareness is pretty good, hiding in mist to launch his magic attacks covertly. A pity though, I have a holy weapon given to me by the head inquisitor; the Soul Reaper.”

This sickle could destroy elemental s.h.i.+elds. Relying on his speed, Black William could even get close to other pugilists and kill them with a single hit. “Does this mage think that he will be unharmed by hiding?”

Black William increased his speed. The sickle left his hand, levitating autonomously in front of him, ready to attack at any moment.

He was too swift, he had already gotten close to the edge of the cloud. As long as he advanced two more yards, he would be able to detect the position of the mages. The Soul Reaper sensed a person’s soul, so all confusion techniques were useless, unless the target did not have a soul.

At this moment, in an abrupt change of events, the cloud in front of him suddenly slowed down and dispersed. Black William observed that the young mage had turned around and stopped at the edge of the cloud, less than five yards away from him. The silver magic book had disappeared from the mage’s hand, but there was a bundle of bright green radiance which converged to a small point there instead.

Black William could feel his heart rate double. With a flash of that bright green light, an unstoppable power rushed towards Black William. He was only just able to use his mental strength to control the Soul Reaper to block the blow.

The Soul Reaper, a weapon of status in the Holy See, turned to dirt and crumbled on impact. The bright green radiance was only as thick as a finger, but it penetrated Black William’s defensive holy prose. The holy prose exploded with many crackles, as though a bowl of cold water had been poured into a pot of sizzling oil.

Eleanor witnessed the scene with utmost disbelief. When Saleen carried her and flew up, she was already greatly astonished. Saleen was a grade-5 mage, she was very sure of that. A grade-5 mage could barely fly even with help from equipment, but Saleen could fly as fast as a grade-7 sorcerer with her in tow.

When the cloud dispersed, she noticed that the sickle in front of Black William and was utterly petrified. She knew what the Soul Reaper looked like, in the Tanggulasi Empire, this weapon was renowned. Thousands, if not hundreds, of people had been slaughtered by it. None of these victims were average people either.

Black William was labeled as kind because he never laid a finger on a normal person. In most circ.u.mstances, the inquisition would not care whether one was a normal person or a professional.

Of course, killing hundreds of people was not considered diabolical. The inquisition was in charge of exterminating the heretics after all. Whenever Black William went out for a mission, he would have a retinue in front of and behind him, he only dealt with the toughest of targets. Since Eleanor did not have her bangle, she thought that she was doomed the moment she saw Black William wielding the Soul Reaper.

At this point in time, Saleen suddenly pointed gently at Black William, and the Soul Reaper crumbled. That ray of light had obliterated the holy prose overflowing from the holy weapon, directly penetrating into Black William’s chest.

A ferocious elemental vibe exploded and that wound that was as thick as a rod, transformed into a pile of shreds right before Eleanor’s eyes. Black William had been torn apart by the torrent of the elements. The wound no longer existed, because Black William had disappeared from the face of the world entirely.

“What type of spell was that?!”

Eleanor could feel the invincible vibration thenshe saw Saleen, who had delivered that horrifying blow, falling to the ground. Eleanor could barely fly, so she immediately ducked and rushed downwards. On the ground, Nailisi had already dashed over and managed to catch Saleen in her embrace.

Nailisi saw Eleanor descending, then sneered, “What is it? Are you trying to harm Master now that he’s exhausted?”

Eleanor was left speechless, she knew what Nailisi was capable of, so she did not dare trifle with her. She simply took a few steps back and stood there, at a loss for words. She had heard Lex and Saleen discussing that they were confident in killing Black William on their own, and she thought that they would accomplish it through a bitter struggle. Black William had even continued battling despite being shot by her arrow, and Eleanor even thought that she had angered Black William. She thought that she might not be able to return to meet up with Lex.

Without any warning whatsoever, Black William had died, just like that. Laying in Nailisi’s embrace, Saleen’s eyes were shut tight.

Saleen had suffered heavy injuries this time around. Employing the Crystal Finger alone would not render Saleen unconscious. At the moment when the colossal golden shackle trapped Saleen, he immediately used the Eye of Lightning to destroy that level-7 Divine spell. During that period of time, Saleen was almost blind, he could only rely on his perception for movement.

Since Saleen had mustered his last bit of effort to cast the Crystal Finger, it would be weird if he had not gotten injured. Nailisi hugged Saleen in her embrace, and glared ferociously at Eleanor. Nailisi then leapt into the sky as though she was flying and in the blink of an eye, she had already run hundreds of yards. Eleanor simply followed behind silently. She found herself using the Windspeed Skill with all her might, but was still getting farther and farther away from Nailisi.

“If only my bangle was here…”

Eleanor stopped thinking further as she understood Nailisi’s character. It was impossible to get back anything from Nailisi’s possession. Even if Saleen agreed, Eleanor would not want it either. Nailisi would make her regret it. Eleanor was still wielding her Elf Bow, but she never thought of using it to harm Saleen.

Just like what Saleen said, she had nowhere to go. At least by following Saleen, she would receive a bit of security.

In the conversation between Black William and Lex, Eleanor discovered shocking news. Saleen and his team were there to look for the seeds of the divine trees which were left behind by the G.o.ddess of Myers.

“Since Saleen allowed me to stay by his side, it means that he doesn’t have the intention to let me leave.”

Eleanor laughed bitterly, as sourness welled up in her heart. By chance, she had arrived on this plane and met a human which she adored. To think that this human disappeared out of the blue, leaving behind a huge mess. Eleanor had organized the marquis’ subordinates because she had a premonition that the marquis would return. That lightning which descended from the sky did not kill the marquis, it only transported the marquis to a location she was unaware of.

She did not have any attachment to the items owned by the pink army, she was only waiting for the marquis to return.

The marquis did not return, but there was infighting in the pink army. Then the small duke from the Agares family attacked, destroying everything. Eleanor was a little disheartened. The life of an elf was very long, and they would not experience many negative emotions. Even though all her family members on this plane had died, she did not suffer a mental breakdown.

She did not want to die just yet. Once she died, she would never get another chance to look at the marquis again.

“I will follow Saleen then. As long as he doesn’t kill me, I will do anything he asks of me.” Eleanor tried her best to increase her speed, making a beeline for Lex’s camp.

Lex waited outside the camp compound. When Lex saw that Nailisi was carrying Saleen as he laid motionless in Nailisi’s embrace, she was astounded. She turned and entered the camp compound. Lex instructed all the swordmasters to leave the barrack, then she took out a huge wooden tub from the G.o.d’s Ring, and filled it to the brim with Restorative Water.

Lex had acc.u.mulated a lot Restorative Water, the total volume was sufficient to serve a camp of soldiers.

“Sika!” Lex bellowed for Sika to enter the barrack. She handed Sika a silver bottle, then said, “This is magic liquid. Strip Saleen naked and place him in this wooden tub and soak him in the Restorative Water. If the color of the Restorative Water becomes pale, then add three drops of magic liquid in.”

After finis.h.i.+ng her sentence, Lex left the barrack and returned to the magic war chariot, not coming out again.

Lex was feeling slightly frustrated, “If Sika wasn’t around, then I would be the one treating Saleen, right?” At this juncture, Lex mysteriously felt jealous of Sika.
