Saleen could not care less about those soldiers, his magic chariot had charged straight for the building at the center of the castle under the protection of the slain warriors. It was a six storey building.

Zhi…

A shrill noise sounded and a creature that had small wings flew up from below a window. It was a stone statue outside of the window that had suddenly come alive, charging towards Saleen’s magic chariot.

Zhi zhi…

More stone statues came to life and in a blink of an eye, over thirty of them had flown in front of the chariot.

The fifty slain warriors’ faces turned pale, they had not faced such a creature before. The swordsmen from Lex’s army definitely would not have had such a reaction. The people there even dared to capture and kill a green dragon.

“Jola!” Saleen cried out, Jola took out Tears and left his war horse. His actions were fast, but Lex had already rushed out of the magic chariot, with her body wrapped in seven colors, she flew into the sixth floor window.

Saleen had not expected Lex to risk her own life, besides him, no one else had the ability to fly. Upon seeing Lex entering the building, the sword light on Tears burst out and cut apart two stone statue ghosts. Jola jumped with both legs to the third floor window and with a kick against it, he flipped onto the fourth floor.

There were stone statue ghosts attacking from both sides, they were not big and had a stooped figure. Their claws were sharp and the eyes were blood-red. The flapped their tiny wings and had acid spewing from their mouths, they looked incredibly vicious.

Jola’s long sword turned at his hips and flew out, forming an arc in the air, it cut two ghosts at the waist. Jola then went up another floor, Tears returned to his hands with a beckon.

Using his sword aura and controlling a weapon, this was something only a white grand swordmaster could do. Jola had trained this for more than half a year and had finally surpa.s.sed this barrier. His swordsmans.h.i.+p reaching another level.

The two ghosts had large wounds on their waists, they did not bleed and immediately returned to their stone form. If it was on the floor, this would not have been a bad idea, but this was over twenty meters above ground. The two ghosts that had reverted back into stone fell onto the ground and shattered into many pieces.

At this moment, Jola had jumped another floor and flew into the window on the sixth floor.

Earl Wynner’s army came from all four sides and the scene was chaotic. The soldiers from outside the city gate had rebelled and joined Bifano’s army. Earl Wynner’s soldiers did not trust their comrades and in an instant, the neat formation became chaos.

From numbers, Bifano’s army was bigger as almost half of the five regiments might have turned their back against the castle and would not listen to the orders of Earl Wynner. There were more stone statue ghosts around the building and they flew down to attack. From time to time, these ghosts would even shoot out an intense ray from their eyes. Some of the soldiers shot were unharmed, but some disintegrated or were even fossilized.

The fifty slain warriors had long changed into a magic armor and their defensive abilities were incredibly high and were alright even after getting shot a few times. They became bold, with their s.h.i.+elds protecting most of their bodies, they formed a protective layer around their surroundings and surrounded the magic chariot. The mages in it started releasing scrolls.

Giant fire dragons, ice arrows, totems, and ice shards started raining down. A five meter long giant stone lizard was summoned and it rushed towards the building. With a loud boom, it dented the base of the building before disappearing.

There were many low-grade mages in the building that were controlling the ghosts. The mages outside the building in the chariot were releasing scrolls almost as if they were free and in an instant, suppressed all magic that was coming from the building. More accurately, before even waiting for the mages inside to attack, the magic chariot had used all its abilities to suppress them.

“Master…” A blood smell filled the streets as Nailisi licked her lips, a little excited.

“You’re not allowed to go.” Saleen looked out of the window, Bifano commanded his bodyguards to fight to their deaths. He was covered in blood, but Saleen knew this duke had not used his full might yet.

Just by using his swordsmans.h.i.+p, Jola could take down this fellow. The Agares family had ruled the t.i.tan Duchy for thousands of years though, who knew what secret equipment they had. Saleen had not expected that when the city gates were breached, half of the soldiers within the castle would turn their backs. If not, Bifano’s bodyguards would not have it so easy. There was ten times the enemy after all.

In Bifano’s eyes, Nailisi was still a useless maidservant, let him continue to think that.

Indeed, Bifano was not using his full might, with a mutiny in the castle, his bodyguards did not even need to be at the frontline. He stole a cold glance at Saleen’s magic chariot and realized the grade-5 mage had no intention of taking any action. The magic released from the chariot was those stored in scrolls, they had on hand. Lex had rushed into the building though.

Bifano was a little scornful of Saleen, it seemed like he was not a mage that knew how to fight.

In the Qin Empire, this would not have been much of a problem, however, in other countries a mage’s most important skill was combat. A mage that did not know how to fight would have no standing in a place like t.i.tan. Saleen now had ama.s.sed much experience and had a steady temperament. Even if he wanted to kill anyone, he would not show it. No matter how vast Bifano’s magic knowledge was, he would not be able to read him.

“Lex will be alright, right?” Sika was still thoughtful and was worried something might have happened to Lex.

“Don’t go too.” Saleen stopped Sika and said, “Jola can manage.”

Jola could only complain now. Even though he had entered the building only ten seconds later than Lex, when he entered the window on the sixth floor, he could no longer see Lex.

On the sixth floor, there was a vast darkness. Lex’s clothes had vanished in the darkness and Jola did not dare dash into it. When it came to magic knowledge, he did not know much, but he had heard about this magic.

The darkness screen started from a level-4 magic and a grade-4 mage was able to release it all the way to a grade-9 sorcerer. This was a spell that could advance in level and it followed the grade of the sorcerer, getting increasingly stronger.

Jola struck Tears out and the darkness around its tip disappeared. The s.h.i.+ning silver sword aura shone through the darkness screen, not producing any noise.

Even though Jola did not use all his strength, the sword aura was solid, but it was soon cancelled out. Anything that could cancel out his sword aura had to at least be a level-7 magic! A level-7 Darkness spell left Jola helpless for a moment.

Lex was only a grade-6 mage and seeing that she had entered the darkness screen, she might be in danger. Jola could not enter or retreat now. Biting down hard, he took out a black cloth and tied it around his eyes, blindfolding himself. This was an equipment that Jola had brought with him that Saleen had helped him process.

After blindfolding his eyes, Jola could see the room despite the darkness.

It was not clear, but his gaze penetrated the black cloth and everything dark became gray instead. The room was presented as weird lines and figures and none of them looked like what they were originally.

A few gray skeletons were moving about continuously. A transparent thing was vaguely encasing them. It must be their muscles, skin, and armor. The distinction was clear.

Jola saw Lex and in his vision, she was a skeleton. Her muscles and organs could vaguely be seen. The only thing different was that she had a ring on her that was giving off a golden light.

It was the G.o.ds Ring, even a level-10 magic would not be able to change its properties.

Jola puckered his guts and entered the darkness screen, he felt a chill go through him as his sword aura slowed its revolution. In a split second, his entire body felt as if it had been weighed down with lead. Jola’s cloth could only let him see vague images, it could not cancel out the powers of the darkness screen.

If Jola was only a swordmaster, he might not be able to move by now. He tried opening his mouth, but no noise came out. He wanted to shout and let Lex know he was there, but his voice traveled less than half a meter before it disappeared. This was even when he had forcefully pushed his sword aura.

Lex walked forward calmly, there were two grade-4 mages in front that were controlling a magic array, trying a different attack. The darkness screen’s powers were cancelled by Lex’s colorful robes. This set of magic robes that Joey had created moved about in the darkness, it was Lex ama.s.sing her elemental energy.

If others entered the darkness screen, they would not only be unable to see anything. They would not be able to ama.s.s the elements either. Within it, one could only use dark type magic.

Lex opened a scroll and water elements rushed and gathered in front of her, forming a sharp ice spear. This ice spear had a hexagonal tip and was giving off a bright light.

The icy light spear was the nemesis of dark type magic. This magic had an incredibly slow release speed, but unless one used a scroll, it had no combat purposes.

The darkness dissolved and there was no longer any darkness where the light from the Icy light spear reached.

Wu…

The ice spear flew into the air and split into two, piercing through the chest of the two grade-4 mages that were releasing spells.

Its speed was not considered fast, but these two grade-4 mages were powering the magic array at full force and they could not move. The mages nearby were controlling the darkness screen again and could not save them. Once they moved, the darkness screen would disappear.

Jola squatted and felt the floor with his hands. It was made from an icy stone material with intricate magic patterns inscribed on it. Jola gave a cold laugh. “If I cannot move, does that mean I cannot destroy your magic array?” He grabbed Tears as the sword aura spewed out from the tip and he pierced down with all his might.

Buzz!

Tear was bent until it formed an arc as sparks erupted from the ground. With this force from Jola, even if the ground was metal, he would be able to pierce through it. This stone material was tougher than steel!

Jola was unsuccessful at destroying the magic array, but he caught the attention of the mages controlling it. He saw two skeletons making weird hand gestures at him and with a chill in his heart, he stepped forward without hesitating.

Jola felt his body getting heavier, but the mages in front of him were scared s.h.i.+tless. The swordsman that had entered the darkness screen could see where he was and was walking over with a long sword. The darkness screen was powered entirely by the magic array and besides controlling it, they could not release any other magic.
