Chapter 1384: Consuming a G.o.d (Part 2)

Rafel smiled. If there had been a Seed of Divine Fire, Saleen would not have allowed her to absorb it either. This was because that would be equivalent to Fycro reviving within her body.

Without a Seed of Divine Fire, Rafel could suppress the divine fire as their levels were similar. It was just that Fycro had comprehended a few more rules than she had. The difference between angels and G.o.ds lay in the fact that G.o.ds were the dominant party, whereas angels had no sense of self. Since the beginning in which the angels had been created, this had already been set in stone.

Rafel had witnessed her G.o.d’s death with her own eyes and harbored a special hatred towards the G.o.ds. If not for the other G.o.ds, the Metal G.o.d would not have fallen. Even if the Metal G.o.d had not advanced, his lifespan would still have exceeded that of this Crystal Wall system.

Even such a G.o.d had been killed.

Of course, if Saleen grew to a certain level, perhaps he would also target a divine kingdom to kill off, thus doing something similar. But Saleen was a human. Humans were the enemy of the G.o.ds, so this was normal. The ma.s.sacres between the G.o.ds were the most perilous, and the most frequent.

According to the secular laws of humans, killing their own kind was always punishable by death. Yet between the G.o.ds, killing their own kind was simply praiseworthy.

Rafel retrieved her Inferno Spear. This spear had not been created for her by the Metal G.o.d. Instead, it had been given to a G.o.ddess. It was only for the sake of this G.o.ddess that the Metal G.o.d had fallen. Everything had merely been a trap.

The Inferno Spear had fallen into her hands, but her G.o.d was no longer present.

What if Saleen had been right? The G.o.ds were all fellows who did not know love. But why, even before he fell, had her own father G.o.d been unwilling to kill that G.o.ddess with his own hands?

Could G.o.ds also feel hurt?

Rafel thought up to this point, and pierced Fycro’s heart with a stab of her spear.

Fine red-colored threads went into Fycro’s body from the surface of the Inferno Spear, penetrating into Fycro’s body and riddling it with holes. One heart had long stopped beating. Fycro’s body struggled futilely as he felt the unbearable pain…

From the sidelines, Saleen still did not forget to make Fycro feel miserable. He said to Fycro, “If you had not plotted to harm my children, I would still have given you a little respect and allowed you to die with dignity. Now, I can only take you apart slowly, like livestock.”

Fycro soundlessly shut his eyes. Extracting his divine fire was not at all difficult, and there was not much difference between the levels of both parties. Rafel’s Inferno Spear was violently pulled out from Fycro’s heart. A thread of divine fire was already wrapped around the spear’s tip.

The fresh blood of a G.o.d was gold-colored. It gushed out. The Violet Angel greedily pounced and opened his mouth to receive the G.o.d’s blood.

Even if it belonged to a psuedoG.o.d, it was still sufficient for him to enjoy it.

“Violet Angel, remember to leave some for Dante. It is fine as long as it is enough for him to treat his wounds,” Saleen reminded him from the side.

The Violet Angel’s body had already broken down into hundreds of mechanical parts and rushed onto Fycro’s body. Some of these had already turned into a long and sharp needle that was inserted into the cracks of the bones and absorbed the crystallized G.o.dly power within it.

Some others turned into circle-shaped gears within the cracks and pierced Fycro’s muscles. There were also some others that had directly turned into the form of small-sized magic beasts that opened their mouths to rip and tear at the more fragile parts.

These miniature mechanical magical beasts all took a bite. Often, it was only after all the teeth in their mouths had been chipped that they were able to bite off a piece of flesh.

“Violet Angel, eat more bones. They are beneficial for you.” Saleen saw this situation and knew that it was because the Violet Angel’s rank was not sufficient, rather than because the materials did not make the cut. Under the Power of Rules, some low grade materials were often also able to cause high grade materials to become deformed.

Dante heard his master showing concern towards him and only sighed.

Saleen did not ask. He guessed that Dante was still hoping to gain freedom. But he could not be given freedom!

The Violet Angel’s body broke apart into a few containers that were filled with the G.o.d’s blood that gushed out from Fycro and flew out of the Lightning Cage. Saleen handed the G.o.d’s blood to Dante. Dante directly gulped it down into his stomach, then he returned into the Lightning Constellation to continue nursing his wounds.

Saleen tossed the containers back at the Violet Angel, then he suddenly shut the Lightning Cage.

The Violet Angel jumped in fright, and heard Saleen say, “I have tens of thousands of subordinates who are directly managed by me. After killing a G.o.d, you have enjoyed most of the benefits alone. There must always be a price to pay.”

“Master!: The Violet Angel was somewhat anxious, and heard Saleen say:

“Don’t be afraid. My wish is to refine this Lightning Cage into your body. In any case, you are an ent.i.ty evolved from mechanics. Adding a cage is also not something difficult.”

The Violet Angel was somewhat stunned. Originally, he was still slowly savoring things and was secretly absorbing Fycro’s rules. He had not expected that Saleen would actually want to refine the Lightning Cage into his body.

This would be extremely painful, so painful that he would regret being able to perceive senses.

“Thus, you should eat quickly. If you eat more, it will be slightly better in a moment,” Saleen urged.

Only then did the Violet Angel understand that Saleen’s objective in refining the Lightning Cage into him at this time was to allow his and Fycro’s flesh to be completely combined together. With this, he would directly possess power close to that of grade-13, as well as the potential to develop. If he relied on himself to absorb it, he would waste too much energy.

The Violet Angel himself was a puppet. This was equivalent to Saleen refining the Violet Angel once more, and the effects would be much better than if the Violet Angel were to absorb it himself. Of course, the motive of this was to allow the Violet Angel to evolve.

“Master, you must be more gentle…” The Violet Angel could not cry. It could only say this resentfully, and then begin to consume Fycro’s body with all his might.

“Nonsense!” The Violet Angel’s tone caused Saleen to feel gloomy. He released his Water Flames to wrap around the Lightning Cage.

Refining the Violet Angel took up about three more days of Saleen’s time. This was because Fycro’s G.o.d body was too difficult to refine. Even if he was a pseudoG.o.d, he was still beginning to possess the characteristic of a G.o.d, which was to have an imperishable body.

In reality, if Saleen had not allowed the Violet Angel to consume Fycro, and this body did not have divine fire within, a grade-13 pseudoG.o.d’s body could be preserved for 120,000 years. After 120,000 years, with every 10,000 years that pa.s.sed, the pseudoG.o.d’s body would then start to decompose a little. For complete decomposition, it would take an undetermined amount of time and erosion.

Jason had once told Saleen that alchemy was the equivalent of smelting hundreds of thousands of years’ time into a second. It was an ability, as well as an art. Furthermore, it was the perfect embodiment of rules.

A creature had to go through a million years in order to evolve and form some new characteristics. A piece of rock also need thousands of years to become weathered and decayed.

Alchemy was merely the speeding up of these processes. It was up to the alchemist to guide these objects in their development.

Most alchemists did not understand this point. Their alchemy was like constructing a house. The equipment they refined had too many traces to count and had too many imperfections.

For good alchemists, it was like planting a flower. They tossed in the seed, watered and fertilized it. All of this needed to be completed within a very short period of time.

What Saleen was doing now was to condense 120,000 years’ time into an instant. A G.o.d’s body would also dissipate into pure energy. Saleen’s alchemy was meant to bring this process forward.

If it was the normal breaking down of energy, it would inevitably have some losses. However, Saleen’s type of alchemy was guided based on the rules of materials. The Violet Angel comfortably absorbed Fycro’s energy, and at the same time he was in pain from the invasion of the Lightning Cage in his body.

The electric current was wrecking havoc as per before, and Saleen had no intention of stopping it.

If people wanted to attain something, they must pay an equivalent price. The Violet Angel wanted to attain complete evolution and surpa.s.s the Mechanical Soul, so he must bear the pain.

Puppets could be destroyed too easily, even if it was a puppet refined entirely out of high grade materials like the Violet Angel. When one attained a grade at Saleen’s level, their foes would never be too weak. Each enemy would probably have the means to destroy the puppet’s core. Saleen was not refining the puppet’s core and the Lightning Cage together. Even if it was a G.o.d, it was impossible for them to destroy the Lightning Cage.

Not just that, but with the Lightning Cage in his body, in the future when the Violet Angel consumed anything, it would be much safer. His stomach would be equivalent to a small-scale Lightning Cage. As long as one was swallowed by the Violet Angel, they would basically be unable to escape.

The Violet Angel was in pain yet felt joy. By consuming a pseudoG.o.d’s body, he could fight less for a few thousand years.

He would not be bothered by the additional pain that Saleen had inflicted on him. If Master found out that he was bothered by it, he would be punished for some time. That would not be wise.

Only what he had consumed in his stomach was the truth.

The Violet Angel lowered his head and ate furiously. Like this, time flowed by. After another three days had pa.s.sed, Saleen put away his Water Flames. The benefit of cultivating the Power of the Soul was that the time in which the Water Flames could be released had lengthened.

“Teacher, I must return.” Saleen put away and Water Flames and the Violet Angel at the same time. Now, not a trace of a puppet could be seen on the Violet Angel’s entire body. It was adorned with flesh, as if he was a strong human man.

Saleen could only sigh at the fact that he did not have an artistic cell in his body. The puppets he refine could not be said to be magnificent or good-looking. There was only a feeling of strength and st.u.r.diness.

Jason nodded and did not say anything. He could now be at ease with regards to his student. If he really could not cope, he could still return here to seek protection from him. There would sooner or later come a day when Saleen would become a great mage, just like those people who had left their names behind in the history books and had attained eternity in the hearts of mages.

There were no indestructible creatures. Mages too sought longevity and could even live for up to 10,000,000 years. However, mages would not pursue eternal life. That was a misunderstanding. One’s life could only be lengthened constantly, and they had to pay a huge price for it.

“Sika, let us go.” Saleen reached out his hand and carried his son while Sika carried their daughter. He called Rafel and walked towards the teleportation portal.

The G.o.d had already been consumed, and there were no other matters in particular that he needed to do here. He would first send his children back before discussing things again. In this interdimensional s.p.a.ce, only Teacher was powerful. Most of the mages who were his subordinates were still on the Myers Continent. Saleen needed to bring his children to a safe place to stay.

Fycro’s matter caused Saleen to have no choice but to be careful. With a first time, there was a possibility that it would occur a second time.

Rafel followed behind Saleen in a strange mood. In her eyes, Saleen was also considered to be powerful. One who was able to exterminate a pseudoG.o.d was no longer considered to be ordinary.

However, this person carried his child with one hand and pulled along his wife with another. No matter how she looked at it, he had nothing to do with the two words ‘powerful person’.

Her father G.o.d had always been alone and such warmth had never occurred in his divine kingdom. Until that G.o.ddess had appeared. Could this be the reason of the humans’ strength? Even if they were exceptionally powerful, they still possessed a soft and gentle spirit.

Yet, why had father G.o.d’s wish to possess these things led to his fall?
