Api di Bukit Menoreh Book 1 – Chapter 12
Untara paused. He tried to remember everybody from Sendang Gabus he had ever seen. And suddenly he remembered this man. Pande Besi at Sendang Gabus.
“I remember” Untara suddenly replied, ” you are Sedang Gabus's blacksmith.”
That man raised his eyebrows surprised, he asked: “you know me?”
Yes, you are one of the soldiers from the Jipang troops continued Untara in his heart. Therefore Untara became increasingly nervous. Pande besi had known him long ago. Hopefully, that man has forgotten it.
But it turns that Untara has out of luck. The man took a step forward and identified Untara's face carefully. He studied the young man closely. Then suddenly he was accompanied by laughter derail “Ha. Do not lie anymore. You come from Jati Anom”. The man paused as he seemed to recall. So he jumped “Satan. Are not you named Untara” he said.
(Satan: local insult)
Untara could no longer hide his name. Turns out that man still knew him. But even so, he still replied “Yes, I am Untara. Are we not neighbours”
“The h.e.l.l, aren't you a follower of that lunatic Karebet?” snapped the Pande besi.
“Hem,” Untar sighed deeply. “What's the difference?” You are on the side of Jipang with your beliefs, I am on the Pajang side with my beliefs”.
“Huh” retorted the man, “you think Karebet has a right to rule this Java island. He is no more than son of a bird-watcher in the fields.”
“What matters to me, is what has been done and what will be done for our land,” Untara said.
“I'm not a talkman like you” snapped that man. “The revelation of the palace can't be present to just anyone. It's unlikely to be present in a shepherd like that tingkir young man.”
