Chapter 2.2

Those Who Dare to Disregard the Existence of the Abyss Dragon Must Bear the Consequences that Comes With it (2)

Unexpectedly, Shi An appeared distracted and did not notice the unspoken transfer of succession occurring nearby. Rather, he was staring intently at a corner of the banquet room. The lighting moving over his face revealed his thoughtful expression.

The old butler was puzzled and reflexively followed Shi Ans line of sight.

In the shadowy corner, a guest silently leaned against the wall with his head down, as if he was asleep, contrasting with the surrounding lively atmosphere. One of the servants seems to have noticed the strange guest and went over holding a tray. Upon reaching the strange guest, the servant inquired in a low voice.

The surrounding atmosphere was calm and peaceful, but it also felt like there was something turbulent boiling within the atmosphere.

Without warning, the strange guests arms suddenly convulsed and his skin split open! What flowed out was an amber liquid instead of blood.

Clang! The sound of the tray hitting the ground was jarring like a sharp weapon cutting through the air. Immediately after, a scream cut through the night. AHHHHHHH

BAM! The strange guests plump body collapsed like a deflated balloon and fist-sized, pitch-black insects crawled out from his wounds. One after another, like a torrent, those insects crawled into the banquet room. Their legs made crushing-like sounds as they crawled on the carpet.

Monsters! Those are monsters! How is this possible! Why would they appear here!

All at once, horrified screams filled the banquet room. The terrified guests rushed towards the exit, drowning out the voices attempting to maintain order in the banquet room.

Shi Ze Chun was livid by the turn of events and shouted something while evacuating the room with Shi Rui. The few mages in the banquet room tried to move towards the monsters to control the chaos within a small area, but the fleeing guests hindered them.

POP! The lights exploded and darkness descended onto the banquet room, generating another wave of terrified screams and stampede.

The old butler searched all over the banquet room for Shi An in this chaos. When he could not find Shi An, he panicked and shouted: Young Master!

No one responded in this chaos.

Amidst the fleeing guests, one person was indifferent to the surrounding chaos, not moving from his position. Shi An stood there with a neutral expression on his pale face as if all his emotions had been sieved dry. His slightly narrowed eyes emit an inky blackness like from the abyss.

A fist-sized monster making sharp creaking sounds dashed towards Shi An. The monsters six small eyes gleamed with evil and greed; its sharp pincers flashed with cold light, waiting to tear apart the weak human in front of it. But the next second, the monster froze. This human possesses an ancient aura!

The monster became wary of that aura and lifted the top half of its body to carefully sniff at it. This guy in front, from his skin to his bones, is hundred percent from the human stock. Plus, he releases a delicious aroma of flesh and blood. However, the magic power in his soul manifests an entirely differentand terrifyingsilhouette!

The silhouette that the monster felt was immense, invisible and intimidating, as though the silhouette was watching from the Abyss. An instinctive fear began to surface from the depths of the monsters soul.

At that moment, Shi An glanced downwards at the monster. Under his long eyelashes, a red shadow lingered within his deep pupil. Even though Shi An appeared calm and quiet, the monster still sensed that Shi Ans mood now wasterrible.

!!! The monster trembled with fear and fled without hesitation.

In truth, Shi An was indeed extremely displeased. All dragons, especially the Abyss Dragons, have strong territorial behaviour; they are arrogant, insular and highly vigilant against monsters other than themselves.

Although Shi An had lost his dragon form, this did not mean he would tolerate these dirty and low-rank monsters to insolently invade his territoryand brazenly turn it into an abattoir without his permission. This was an insult.

In the middle of the chaos, a slender young boy was almost absorbed into the heavy darkness that could easily crush his softness, innocence and fragility. He steadily strode forward while nonchalantly releasing his dark power. Even the air seemed to contain traces of that power: a heat as hot as scalding ashes.

Like a flood hitting on the rocks, all the monsters scattered and fled from Shi An, leaving an empty area with him as the centre.

Those who dare to disregard the existence of the Abyss Dragon must bear the consequences that come with it.
