3 Second Letter

The winter is harsh in the outskirts of the city. Life has changed a lot since our escape. There are no servants, no nice food and sometimes not even drinkable water. We have long left the capital, and have given up the street lights and walk mostly in the shadows. Somethings however never change. Common people seem to like gossip as much as n.o.bles. I heard the official declaration of my own death from the mouth of fisherman. It seems that I have died of a strange disease. There also was word of the execution of a witch caught in the royal palace. Did my uncle use his power in the ministry to convince you and father that It was me? Poor Hanna, she was a good friend. How could I not recognise the birthmark on one of my own maids, as I saw her body hanging from the city walls? Sadly, not much remained of her once beautiful face. Did you know she had a fiancé? Eric used to say that if he couldn't marry her, he would rather be a monk. I wonder what has become of him. Cara has been staring at me in the most peculiar way these days. Maybe she has something to ask me.

Best regards,

The Ghost Ravel.
