"I don't mean it that way. I know that he is a friend of Brother Xue," Jiang Mingyue said. She tightened her grip on Yang Yun's hands. "I thought I might see his face in our world."
Yang Yun turned around to look at the others who stood not far away from them. As Yang Yun and Mingyue had not seen each other for a while, the others decided to give the couple some s.p.a.ce tactfully.
Currently, the husband and wife hid behind Xue Yi Ming's Cayenne, away from other's eyes. Yang Yun's gaze stopped at Li Ran. He searched through his memory and frowned when he could not recall seeing Li Ran's face in their world before.
"It might be someone who looks like him," Yang Yun said.
Mingyue pondered over it for a few seconds longer and shrugged. "Perhaps."
"What are you thinking about?"
Mingyue shook her head. "Nothing. It's only a feeling that he was someone familiar. That's all," she said. Mingyue glanced at Li Ran again before she turned to look at Yang Yun. "When are you going to the mountain to look for that place?"
"If nothing goes wrong, I should head up in two days," Yang Yun said.
"I want to come with you."
"No," Yang Yun immediately declined. "It might be dangerous up there. We might have to climb up higher till the third peak. We did not know how the path is going to be. I'll be more a.s.sured if you stay here."
Mingyue pouted but did not say anything. She understood Yang Yun's concern. Although she used to go hiking with Yang Yun back in Da Cheng, he had never taken her to any dangerous place. If she insisted on going with Yang Yun this time, she might slow down Yang Yun's search for that place.
"Be good and wait for my return," Yang Yun patted her on her hair. "You should stay home and take good care of your body." His lips curved into a pampering smile when Mingyue's pout gradually disappeared. "When are you returning to the city?"
"I took a leave from the hospital until next week," Mingyue said. "I should return to the city a day before I start working. My parents will not be a.s.sured if I return earlier."
Yang Yun frowned. His heart ached at the thought that he needed to be away from his wife for a while longer. At least, if Mingyue stayed in the city, he can always go and look for her like he used to.
"I miss you," Yang Yun said with a sigh.
"I miss you too." Mingyue bit her lower lips, feeling slightly bashful at their exchange. She looked around, and once Mingyue was sure that the others were not looking their way, Mingyue tiptoed and landed a quick kiss on her husband's cheek.
His eyes darkened at her sudden act. A peck on his cheek? That wouldn't be enough to satisfy him.
Just before Yang Yun was about to pull her closer to him and returned her kiss, Mingyue spoke again.
"Will you come over to my parents' house for dinner this weekend? I might be the Lin's adopted daughter. But the Lin's couple, they too are important to me as my parents. I'd like you to meet them properly."
"Of course," Yang Yun nodded. Since Mingyue had changed the subject to her parents, Yang Yun could only suppress his feelings at the moment. "I'll check with Xue Yi Ming to know about customs in this world."
"It's just that… Yang Yun, I do not know how to tell them about our circ.u.mstances. If I told them that I have my memories and that I did not come from this world, would they believe it?"
Yang Yun pondered over the matter and frowned.
"When the time comes, I did not want to leave without saying goodbye. After all, they have taken care of me for six years and raised me as their daughter." Mingyue sighed and continued, "My sister might believe my words, but I'm not sure how my parents are going to react."
"We will figure out what to do together. Let's just go with the flow and see what will happen."
Mingyue nodded. She glanced at her wrist.w.a.tch and felt her heart aching. She knew that she should return to the Lin's residence soon, but she wished that she could spend more time with Yang Yun.
"I should get going," Mingyue said. She loosened her hold on Yang Yun's hands reluctantly.
"Mingyue, wait."
"Huh?"
Before she could figure out what Yang Yun was going to say to her, Mingyue felt his hands tugging her forward, and soon his lips covered hers. Her eyes widened with surprise as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
Mingyue started to panic, knowing that they were in an open area, and the others were around as well. However, she can only let him kiss her. His lips ma.s.saging hers tenderly at first and gradually grew intense.
Slowly, Mingyue's hands made their way to his toned chest. Her lips parted, and she began to respond to him.Â
How long since the last time that they kissed like this?Â
Though they have shared a few kisses in this world, it did not give off the same feeling. In this kiss, Mingyue could feel Yang Yun's thoughts and emotions. This kiss contained their longing for one another.
He missed her, and she missed him.
Yang Yun only released her when he felt that he had enough. If he did not stop now, they might run into another problem. For a while, their gaze stayed with each other.
After a few seconds, Mingyue was the first who looked away as she could not handle his intense gaze. She took a few deep breaths to calm down and said, "Yang Yun, you… the others might be watching."
"They do know that we're married," Yang Yun pointed out. "What's wrong with a husband and wife kissing?"
