"You don't think I'm making the right decision?" Princess Lingchen said.
"I don't trust him," Jiang Xiao Tian said.
"Then what do you suggest I should do? He knew my secret. Do you think I should have him killed?"
"If that's going to save us from any trouble later on, then maybe we should," Jiang Xiao Tian said. "As a ruler, there are times when you have to be ruthless."
"Don't forget Prince Lu Wei's position as the Prince of Qian Rong," Princess Lingchen pointed out. "If he died in our territory, wouldn't Qian Rong use this as a chance to initiate war with us? The Emperor of Qian Rong was newly appointed. He has to look for a chance to prove his leaders.h.i.+p and strengthen his position."
"Then we should kill him once he steps out of Da Cheng," Jiang Xiao Tian suggested. "Wait. Since the Prince relations.h.i.+p with the newly appointed Emperor is not good, maybe we don't have to act once Prince Lu Wei steps out of Da Cheng."
Princess Lingchen chuckled. She knew that Qian Rong's Emperor would definitely act once Prince Lu Wei stepped out of Da Cheng. Wasn't that was the reason why Prince Lu Wei seek for their protection?
"No." Princess Lingchen opposed the idea. "I have a feeling that Prince Lu Wei knows more about the Shadow Gra.s.s. He might be the key for us to find Mingyue. Don't worry. I have sent a few men to continue to watch over the Prince. If Prince Lu Wei dares to say something he shouldn't, the hidden guard will act against him."
Even though Jiang Xiao Tian knew that Prince Lu Wei was under their observation, he could not help but worry. Princess Lingchen had made a reckless move. This situation only put the Princess into a dangerous situation.
"What did His Majesty say about this?" Jiang Xiao Tian asked.
"His Majesty agreed with Prince Lu Wei's condition." Princess Lingchen said. "He trusts my judgment."
Jiang Xiao Tian could only heave a deep sigh. The Crown Princess had already made her decision, and His Majesty has already given her his support. There was nothing else he could do but to be on his guard against Prince Lu Wei.
As Princess Lingchen and Jiang Xiao Tian continued to converse on their current situation, a maidservant walked in to announce that Physician Han Zhenting and Ying Yi arrived to see the Princess.
When Han Zhenting walked in, both the Princess and Jiang Xiao Tian stood up to greet him.
"Your Highness," Han Zhenting greeted.
Princess Lingchen quickly helped her grandfather to his feet. "Grandfather, didn't I say that you don't have to do this when there was no one else around?"
"We should never forgo formalities, even more, when your servants are still around," Han Zhenting said. "Ying Yi told me about what happened the last time. Prince Jing has not stopped bothering you?"
The Princess replied to her grandfather with a faint smile. She turned to her maidservant and signaled them to bring in some refreshment for Han Zhenting. "I heard Yang Yun was injured during his mission," The Princess said in her attempt to change the subject. "How is he?"
Han Zhenting let out a long sigh. "He woke up last morning and was transferred from the camp to my infirmary. He should be alright after resting for a while." He held up a hand and said, "Come. Let grandfather examine you."
Princess Lingchen led her grandfather to sit down. Then she placed her hand on the table to let her grandfather examine her pulse.
The room was silent as Han Zhenting concentrated on checking the Princess' pulse. After a while, Han Zhenting put down his granddaughter's hand and frown.
Princess Lingchen waved her hand, and the maidservants in her room took off. Then, she looked at her grandfather. "Grandfather, what's wrong?"
Han Zhenting looked at the Princess and forced a smile. Then, he waved a hand to call over Ying Yi. He conversed with Ying Yi through sign language, and his expression turned stiff. He quickly recovered his expression, knowing that his grandchildren were watching him.
"Ying Yi, you tell me what's wrong with me," Princess Lingchen said when she failed to get a response from her grandfather. "It's the poison, isn't it? It reacted again the last time I met Prince Jing. What is it now? Is it getting worse?"
"Initially, the poison in your body has slowly faded," Han Zhenting said, softly. "However, something triggered the poison to act the last time. Although the poison in your body was not as stronger as the last time, I was worried that with the amount of herbs we have in hand, it would not be enough to remove the poison in your body completely."
