112 Too Vicious

Something must have happened to the others!

Prince Lu Wei changed his clothes and was ready to go out. It was then that the steward approached him.

"Your Highness," the steward bowed. "Where are you going?"

The Prince stopped as he saw the steward. Slowly, he smiled. "I have stayed in this mansion for a long time. The last time the physician came to check on me, he suggested going out for a walk once in a while for fresh air. Furthermore, it has been a while since I arrived in Da Cheng. Beside the palace, I haven't go anywhere else."

"In that case, I will arrange a few guards to come along with you," the steward looked at the Prince apologetically. "The Emperor had reminded us that as long as you're in Da Cheng, we will be responsible for your safety. After all, you are an important guest of Da Cheng."

Prince Lu Wei thought about it for a while and nodded. "I will follow your arrangement."

The steward heaved with relief. He steward turned around to a few servants and sent them to a few tasks. The steward was initially worried that the Prince would think that they were trying to control his movement and caused a scene because of it.

"Steward Xu," Prince Lu Wei called. "I heard that there are a few shops specialized in Qian Rong in the city. It has been a while since I left Qian Rong and I missed the delicacies."

"Your Highness, don't worry," the steward smiled. "I will ask my men to guide you there."

"I will be at ease to have someone as a guide me in the city," Prince Lu Wei said. He talked with the steward briefly before two guards in plain dress, and a servant approached them. Once he was introduced to the guards and the servant, Prince Lu Wei stepped out of the house.

Although this was not the first time he visited the capital city of Da Cheng, Prince Lu Wei pretended that he was not familiar with it and followed the servant as he played his part as a tour guide.

Soon, they reached a shop that sold delicacies from Qian Rong. Prince Lu Wei entered the shop and looked around quietly. His expression slowly darkened as he saw the workers behind the counter.

"Good afternoon, gentleman," the shopkeeper greeted with a smile. "How can I help you?"

Prince Lu Wei quickly hid his expression and ordered a few snacks to be packed. Then, he looked at the shopkeeper. "Have the shop changed its owners.h.i.+p?" The Prince forced a smile when the man gave him a look over. "I have been here for a few times. But I noticed that the shop has changed."

The shopkeeper stared at the Prince for seconds. His eyes glinted with surprise as he observed the Prince's face, but the shopkeeper recovered his expression and smiled and smiled. "The previous owner decided to return to their hometown and sold this shop to me."

Prince Lu Wei received the container with the delicacies and turned around with disappointment. It looked like something had happened to his men, or else, they will not abandon their meeting spot in a hurry.

Although he would like to investigate further on this matter, this was not his territory. Prince Lu Wei lacked in resource in Da Cheng. Furthermore, his injury was not healed yet. One wrong move, the wound could tear up again, and it will take him longer to recuperate.

Just as Prince Lu Wei stepped out of the shop, the shopkeeper stopped him. "What's wrong?" Prince Lu Wei asked.

"Gentleman, I can hear from your accent that you're from Qian Rong," the shopkeeper said. He shoved another container to the Prince and said, "This is our gift to fellow countrymen. I hope that you will come again to visit us."

Prince Lu Wei was about to decline when he could sense a folded paper underneath the container. He looked at the shopkeeper and saw the look on the shopkeeper's face only then that he accepted the delicacies. "Thank you, shopkeeper. I will definitely come again."

The Prince hid the letter in his sleeve and handed the bags to the servant. He followed the servant around for a while longer before he returned to the guest house. Once he arrived, Prince Lu Wei told the steward that he was tired after his walk and instruct them not to disturb him as he rested.

Only then did Prince Lu Wei took out the paper he hid. His expression slowly changed as he read the contents. In his anger, the paper crumpled into a ball.

The Crown Prince had terminated his way of communication with his men and killed his supporters in Qian Rong. His men at the shop could only leave him the last letter to warn him about the Crown Prince before they escape for their life.

This Crown Prince! He's too vicious! He really won't leave him with a way to live!
