"Well, h.e.l.lo," said Old Jack smilingly,
I look around and paused. There was a beautiful diamond ring. One that I later saw on Diana ring finger. It came with a Giffin guardian that doubled as a bodyguard and transport.
I remember when Rex presents it to her at dinner. Grandmother's eyes had popped out. So you knew it was valueble.
"Oh, Gene," Jack told me. "You seem to like that ring very much. Too bad it's cursed but then again you don't care about that stuff."
There was a paused.
I knew the story. Diana and Rex retold it like sixty times during their short-lived first engagement. Truth be told, Diana love life was sort of curse. It matches the legend of the stone.
With a shrug, I put the ring on my middle finger. It fit perfectly. I smiled.
Jack leaned across the counter toward me, his eyes intent. He knew I wanted the piece badly "I can give it to you for sixteen gold. No less."
"If I buy a few more items can you give me a better price," I told him. "You see, a war is coming and I'm breaking the bank to stock up on supplies."
I like Jack so I warn him. If he listens to me then he may live longer than the last life, or not. It was his choice.
"Well - "
He raked his hands over his hair. Messing it up even further. There was a look in his eyes telling me that it was too late.

Too bad for him. I didn't have that much free time to help him out. One Crazy was enough for my plate along with staying alive.
My heart ached. And I sigh. I liked him enough so I pull out a silver protection tailman. I probably won't be needing it.
"Let's trade, the ring, the Walkman and the lighter I have in reserved for this tailman." I said, "And if you ever use it. You own me equal to what you are worth."
It was a fair offer.
Old Jack raised an eyebrow. He was one of the few people who knew I was a seer, so this incident was probably not surprised to him.
"Sure," he said and he places my items in a paper bag and took the tailman.
