"I've made arrangements?" he whispered in a low, s.e.xy voice.
"What?"
"To compensate you, love. Our agreement and this is the first part." He said handing me the frail silver mirror.
I've seen a similar piece. Held it in my hand. The piece was delicate, similar yet different. Still it was the same mirror and the key to my survival. I went so incredibly still, it was a wonder my heart still beats. He lifted himself up and stroked my cheek.
This was the time when I really wanted to be normal. I bit my lips trying to stay collected. My heart was breaking for what I could never be.
"It may be someone else, some spell or some artifact could have caused this," Knight said his hand holding on tight.
"Sorry,"
His brow furrowed. He inhaled a long breath. His expression twisted my heart as if he too did not want to give me any more bad news but I could see it was there.
"I wish I had more time. But today I must leave. Before that, I'll show you something very special. My pride procession, my lair, and most guard secret." He said signing hard. "I sorry, this is a bit much for you."
It made me smile at the tenderness. He really was the things that made dreams. I wished I could do something about that but once the potion wore off our life would return to normal and it'll be as if it has never happened for him leaving me with sweet memories of something so far beyond my reach that it could never happen. If I had been a lesser person it would have destroyed me but me this was another stone to step on as I made my way through life.
"You must," I said dryly. "What are your plans?"
Knight's eyes glinted with amus.e.m.e.nt. He seems happier that I was no longer lingering on the bad. I will, however, give my aunts the cold shoulder for a while.
