Finished this during lunch break. Enjoy the short story~
I am Khatia, a receptionist in the Global Guild in the Pioneer City, staring at a strange man who's currently measuring his magic power using the magic board. He suddenly talk about the prophets and wasn't even knowledgeable about the magic boards but I think he just simply have no idea how this world goes as he didn't even have a Global Card and probably haven't been to the Global Guild before.
He's still young so I don't think he needs to come and join the Global Guild right after receiving his job cla.s.s. Basically those who were students or those born under a family of merchants delays and doesn't join the guild immediately.
(But this is where our job comes, we are here to help people like him…)
I have been in his field of work for many years so I've gotten used to the drill. I have the same mindset when I faced him but—
(This person might have a considerable amount of magic power and talent.)
The scene that's playing before me——I couldn't believe how many magic boards Eisen-sama have been breaking one after another. The first magic board he broke was just an average magic board yet he did it in a blink of an eyes, even the second magic board followed the same scenario up to the third board where he received Rank C and now he's left the Rank B crystal with some cracks. I can say that about 50% of them have already been crushed.
I think I have never seen anyone with this kind of performance before but at the same time, I recognise this exciting feeling of being in charge of a remarkable newcomer that's often talked about within the staffs of the Global Guild.
That's right. Global Guild attracts people of every talents and so, even if they are newcomers, staffs will certainly face moments where they find some outstanding results. I remember my colleague talking excitedly about the birth of a new guild member that's Rank D. I certainly felt nothing at that time.
(So this is the feeling of excitement…)
As I was lost in my thoughts——the lights in the magic board settled down, signalling the end of the magic power measuring. And so, I took the opportunity to look at the final results and the Rank B crystal was cracked with fissures spreading on every parts but the crystal ball wasn't destroyed. In this case, I should announce him as a Rank C——
“Although you certainly stopped at Rank C, if you only pushed more magic power, surely won't you become a Rank B?! You're really amazing!!”
To be true here, there's not many people who could reach Rank C in magic power. They usually belong along the cla.s.s of the guild's executives, or those warriors that survived the war and there are some that's closer to the level of heroes.
It's almost as if this person is an unknown hero that I subconsciously let out a cry of suprise—
“O-Oh my!”
I faced him awkwardly, maybe I felt a bit disappointed because with just a little bit more, he could have been a Rank B. Those who ranked above Rank B will be reported to the Royal Palace in the capital and will be treated as valuable human resources in Global Guild. It can't be helped, he might be able to reach Rank B later, that's what I thought——
“But this is a wonderful result! You just recently became a Spirit Magician and now you received Rank C! I've never seen such a newcomer before!”
I really meant what I said. The spectators around us also says the same thing. He received such an excellent job cla.s.s and has the ability to become more proficient as a Spirit Magician. I was certain of these facts and he too——
“Yeah, you're right. Just as receptionist-san says, I think it was a great result.”
He then smiled as usual and I'm relieved to see that Eisen-sama doesn't seem to be disheartened of the result.
“That's right, please regard it like that. Eisen-sama is a talented person after all!”
I'm really glad I was able to witness the birth of a great guild member.
——This is what Khatia thought as she felt great excitement and expectations towards the newcomer Spirit Magician before her.
