It took less than three days to move into a new home.

The place wasn’t big, but it was much quieter.

It had three bedrooms and two living halls. The decor was all in cool colors, revealing his taste and masculinity.

Shen Manting walked in and immediately started arranging the clothing in the cloakroom which was connected to the master bedroom.

The clothing consisted of both Shen Luo’an’s and hers.

Ye Qianqian and Shen Zhilie had also moved in with them, for Ye Qianqian to provide Shen Manting with some company as well as to keep an eye on her.

Shen Zhilie had been Shen Manting’s doctor throughout the entire ordeal and no one had any intention of changing that. However, Luo Ran dropped by every now and then for a second opinion.

Shen Manting had finished arranging the clothes and was in the midst of making the bed when she heard the door outside the room open.

Shen Luo’an had returned.

Strangely, Shen Manting felt a sense of contentment.

It was as if she were truly a normal wife waiting for her husband to return home.

The feeling was delightful and it made her happy.

Upon hearing the rustling of plastic bags outside, Shen Manting straightened the sheets and walked out.

Shen Luo’an was in the midst of was.h.i.+ng rice for dinner, and when he saw her emerge, he asked, “Are you done?”

“Not at all,” Shen Manting walked over and glanced at the ingredients he had bought. “There are still some things left to pack, but those can be left till later.”

Shen Manting took out the fresh produce from the bags and laid them in the sink as she sorted through them slowly.

Shen Luo’an saw the smile on her lips and his spirits rose. “Are you very happy today?” he asked.

The smile quickly disappeared from Shen Manting’s face as she replied, “I’m okay, I guess.”

Shen Luo’an did not reply. Instead, he placed the rice inside the new rice-cooker, and asked another question, “Is it because you’ve moved to a new place?”

Shen Manting couldn’t contain the smile any longer, and replied, “Yeah, that’s part of the reason.”

He stopped probing after hearing this and helped her in sorting through the ingredients.

Shen Manting’s current mood is the best one she has been in so far.

Her lips turned up into a smile on their own accord again as she casually asked, “When will Zhilie and Qianqian be moving over?”

“Tomorrow, I guess. I have to go to the lab tomorrow too. Laowu is unable to manage on his own,” Shen Luo’an voice was lighthearted as he continued, “I have plenty of work waiting for me in the office.”

“Oh. Will Qianqian be here tomorrow?”

“Yeah.” Shen Manting turned to face him and asked, “So, when will you be coming back?”

Shen Luo’an was visibly surprised by her question.

He was stunned for a long moment before his face broke out into a smile as he replied, “I’ll be back as soon as I’m done.”

Shen Manting looked way, a blush tainted her cheeks. Feigning unhappiness, she replied, “You might as well not have answered.”

“I’ll be back very soon. It shouldn’t be anything important. An afternoon should be more than enough.” Shen Luo’an then leaned over, slowly before calling out to her, “Manting.”

“Yeah?” Shen Manting was was.h.i.+ng some vegetables and replied while looking down.

“Raise your head.”

Upon hearing that, Shen Manting looked up subconsciously.

Shen Luo’an’s lips curled in a smile and he lowered his head to kiss her lips gently.

Shen Manting’s smile widened even more, but she didn’t say a word. After was.h.i.+ng the vegetables, she proceeded to prepare the other ingredients.

For his own peace of mind, Shen Luo’an chased her out of the kitchen once she was done with the preparation.

He took charge of the kitchen and cooked on his own.

Back in the other home, Nanny He was the one who took care of everyone’s meals. Since young, Shen Luo’an never had to worry about his clothes or food and so, he never had much chance to enter the kitchen.

Everything he knew about cooking was what he had learned from simply observing Shen Zhilie and Ye Qianqian in the kitchen.

The taste of his food certainly couldn’t compare with Shen Zhilie’s home-cooked food but it wasn’t too bad based on its own merits and it was definitely palatable, at the very least.

When he was done with the last dish, he brought it to the table.

Just as Shen Luo’an removed his ap.r.o.n, he heard a loud crash coming from inside…
