Chapter 259 - Smiling President Lu

Of course, no matter how much Lu Chen desperately wants to stay beside his wife from now on, he was still kicked out by Xiu Mei forcing him to attend work today. It was a deal in exchange that she would properly rest at home without complaint if he goes to work today.

Lu Chen informed the butler about the current situation, along with calling back Lee In to be her bodyguard again even at home. Since he still wasn't a.s.sured whether one of Albert's men was able to slip without their knowledge.

Because of her mild fever, Xiu Mei had no choice but to rest on her bed today. Before fully investing herself into resting, she quickly compiled all the work she was supposed to do today and sent it over to her a.s.sistant and Lu Shao. She had even forwarded the resignation letter email to Lu Shao, which she somehow felt strange considering that they should be firing him instead of letting him resign on her own.

Anyways, it's a weird picture overall and she couldn't exactly pinpoint which of the two was stranger given the circ.u.mstances.

Xiu Mei didn't stay long in front of her computer, worried that the radiation will affect the fetus in her stomach.

She picked up the pregnancy test box that was delivered to her by the butler, which she received with a flushed face in embarra.s.sment.

Skimming through the instructions, she went to the bathroom and found herself staying there longer than she intended.

Now only her blood result was left before she could finally register it in her hand that now, she's already on her journey to nine months of h.e.l.l. After making sure that she wasn't hallucinating, she let out a deep breath while looking at her reflection in the mirror.

If awhile ago she was still in the state of disbelief, then right now she was in the state of panic as reality finally dawned upon her.

An hour into the meeting, all the directors have relieved expression at the same time, they were all puzzled with the strange peace within the room. Though the President is actually a very reasonable person that wouldn't punish someone just because he didn't like their performance, the president was always cold and would rarely open his mouth either to praise or criticize someone.

They were all used to this kind of setup for so many years that it was so strange seeing President Lu with his lips slightly curled up and he didn't frown even after listening to the negative impact brought by the stock trading suspension days ago.

It wasn't their fault so it was a valid reason that the President wasn't angry at them, but he was smiling so strangely that they were scared that he was going to say something ominous by the end of the meeting but surprisingly, he didn't.

After spending almost 2 hours listening to all their reports, he casually voiced out his comments and instructions before walking out in a seemingly very good mood.

"What's wrong with the President ah?" the Finance Director asked with a strange look on his face.

Operations Director: "Same here. I almost thought that it was some kind of evil grin as if he was about to throw another project at us but he didn't say anything at all ah. Rather, was it probably a smile that means we would have a bonus this month?"

Finance Director: "A bonus for what? For not messing up the report awhile ago?"

And so, the mystery as to why the President was in a good mood appeared in the company forum with all the employees commenting their guesses as to why the President was like that.

At the President's office, Lu Chen called over Lu Shao.

"Purchase the best brands of this stuff on this list. Keep it discreet and don't let anyone know." Lu Chen simply ordered handing over a piece of paper.

The other three Xiu's was silent for a whole three seconds.

It was almost like they were screaming crazily on the other end of the line on the fourth second.

Xiu Mo Ruo: "What the h.e.l.l! Does he have no sense of cautiousness with the current situation?!"
